Padishar returns back to the house after napping at the magic shop like an unwelcome business-cat. His head and limbs were still sore from getting beat to hell the other night but he was in one piece and likely to survive. Once home, he begins the process of drawing himself a bath and getting ready to soak and relax. He snatches one of the books he hadn't gotten to yet and settles into the water... careful not to soak the tome.
Merialeth flicked a look up from the bed she'd been curled into, her head tilting as she perused him, stripping down and hissing softly at the kaleidoscope of bruises over his form from the other night. Her brows furrowed as she reached over to the bedside table and padded over towards the tub. "Well, now I know why Cypriana said you might need this... Scoot up..." She'd place the little tin at the edge of the tub on the little shelf, then slipped out of her clothes. Her wings coming into view behind her as she let the enchantment fade, then carefully spread them behind her and slid in behind him in the tub.
Padishar leans a bit and scoots forward as he was asked, giving her a sidelong look and shrugging, "It doesn't hurt so much anymore. I regenerate worse than this.. it just takes more concentration than I'm willing to spare. I need to study.." he holds up the book, "You got the herbal stuff? It smells horrible..." he sighs a bit, "Just got the smell off me from earlier..." his hands keep ahold of the book but his attention on her frame was mostly admiring. "I don't know what to do with them yet... the Mer, I mean. But I will get my revenge in my own time."
Merialeth nodded softly, the faitn smile on her lips as she nuzzles into him, even -almost- ignoring the looks he was giving her. "Well stink or no, if it helps, and saves you the necessity... well then that's good too - and I know you won't let me heal you ... She'd curl in behind him and peer over his shoulder "Still working on that spell, hm?"
Padishar shakes his head, holding it up carefully so she can read what he was reading, "It's more broad than that... One of the few I'm not familiar with in the shop." he nods and scoots back a little to snuggle into her, "I won't mind the back rub, but once you're done, I'm rinsing it off with the bath." he hurms. "The Imposed Demand spell is done, I think... not quite ready to test it out, but I will." smiling and tilting his head a bit to try and lean back and smooch her fondly. "I must master the magic of this plane. Once I do, I can really start to develop."
Merialeth Windstar
nodded softly, peeking over his shoulder to note which of the books it was, content for now to just relax and enjoy the few moments of not running around and doing this or that. And admittedly? Just having someone to relax -with-. She'd take his kiss to her cheek, smiling again, then leaned back against the wall of the tub and sighed, letting her fingers trail over his back as she considered a moment. "I see some of the issue you're having, it's dfficult to practice what has to remain theory. I mean, not like you could test that on me, it ... it wouldn't work I don't think, not with our... dynamic. I can't test this spell I'm learning without an actual disease to try to cure, but I can read and study theory and everything else til I'm blue in the face. It's frustrating. Her fingers starting to work into the muscles of his shoulders, massaging and working away the tension as she spoke and her mind drifted.
Padishar considers a bit, "I don't really get sick very often. But magical disease might effect me if it was strong enough." he closes his eyes and lets out a gentle purr at her massage. The smell was... not his favorite, but it felt nice, and the mixture did it's job admirably because Cy was no slouch with the medicines. He tries to focus in on his reading, studying some line theory and furthering his understanding of environmental ambient energies. "I'm not sure what spell I'd like to learn next. I'll have to think about it. But I was considering picking up a couple more of the elemental magics..."
Merialeth Windstar just nodded softly, listening, "This one would I think... Blasted shaderot... I -hate- it..." The venom in Meri's voice far more than her usual, the waves of emotion flowing off her for a moment til she realized it was being telegraphed to her hands as she dug into his sidesand down his back. The soft hiss on her breath as she realized and uttered a quick apology. At least she could sort of blame it on other things. "Sorry - just a lot on my mind.." She'd murmur and recollect herself, leaning forward against him and letting her head settle against the back of his neck and shoulder. The scent wasn't all -that- bad, strong, but she'd made and used far worse, and like Padi, fully trusted in Cypriana's medicines. She'd pick out a few of the ingredients just by scent, sight and touch, and decided to ask her about the rest of the combination, next time she was there. The mention of 'next spell' made her brows furrow in thought, "You're likely more flexible in that regard. I think after this I might pick up one of the bolts or the like, even if they're not as strong."
Padishar thinks a moment and leans to kiss her cheek again, "It's alright... I think a bolt might be a good idea. Or perhaps the spell that slows your enemies. That can be very handy for one who uses a bow. I believe most mages, rather creatively, just call it 'Slow'." his hand moves to turn the page of the book and he continues to study, "I was thinking of that acid bolt spell... remember I was reading it earlier? But I also considered learning how to make my lingering hex spell hit multiple targets at once. Since it seems appropriate, so far my fights have been many on one." he narrows his eyes at the page and tilts his head, reading a line a couple times before sighing, "The mages here are weird.."
Merialeth Windstar
smiled tiredly, her eyes falling closed, "Perhaps... we'll see." the comment about multiple targets at once drawing her brows together and another half-nod against his back, "That might be a good spell indeed..." Her fingers again pressing into and rubbing the scented balm into his muscles, her soft hum under her breath laced with the light trace of Magic as always, nothing specific, nothing to impose, just the soft lilting sound of peace hoped for, and maybe just a hint of a healing boost to help soothe those damaged tissues... "Well, I'm sure you've seen some quite interesting sorts in your different tenures, I can't imagine this is any different."
Padishar relaxes a bit to her song, more or less her presence calmed him considerably. "Yes, but these ones are different yet again... And it's strange." he shrugs and shifts a little to properly snuggle into her and wrap an arm around her while he reads. "You don't need to rub anymore... it'll heal. By tomorrow I'll be unbruised and unharmed for I have planned out some time to relax.." he glances to her and smiles softly. "I plan to study tonight and use this time to have some calm... But I do need to speak with Abassi, and I need to show you what I saw in my dreams. Soon." he nods.

Padishar had to test many of the fundamentals he knew from his plane against the local environment and the local powers that be. So far, he'd succeeded in destroying many a tree, shot lightning at his summoner, meditated countless hours and studied a good number of books. His training was almost done, and he felt... mostly satisfied with his progress. His magic had progressed nicely and so far he already felt marginally more powerful for his efforts. Now was the last polishing up of studying and meditation, he was so close to that breakthrough to further understanding that he could taste it. With a book in hand and a handful of important stones from the area, he tries the same meditative spell as he did days past. Nearly inhaling the magic from the air around him and letting it flow through him. Mere hours were left before he could be confident enough in his ability to say he'd grown a new level of mastery and he wasn't about to stop now.
Padishar uses his Spatial Step to get himself home from work. Carrying some supplies for study and some ingredients for experimentation. The problem wasn't that his magic wasn't strong in the first place, simply, it was weakened in Valesk due to an amateur Summoner and the unique land itself.
He settles on the floor and clears the open space of any debris, then unfolds a couple of pieces of parchment with simple drawings on them. His hand moves to the handful of gemstones he'd borrowed from the shop and sets them out over the points on the drawn lines and begins to draw energy from the area around him. He aimed to grow attuned to the magic in this place, if his summoner couldn't bring him with all his glory, then he'd have to unlock it in due time.
The meditating went on for a few hours, leading to a sort of hum on the air before he simply lost his balance and felt the sting of backlash. The punch to the chest was enough to double him over briefly, but he expected that in the first place. Spending a moment to recover and cool down, he collects his placement of stones and parchment before retiring to the table for a bit of study time.
For the moment, his skill with Imposed Demand was simply academic, but with his budding and growing understanding of the magic in the area, he was hoping to evolve that into proper usage. No test subject quite yet, he would just use the candle as a focal point while he spoke the words of the spell and felt the energy growing once more. After a few moments, the gentle brush of power from his focus would put the candle out. He decides, probably not successful enough to risk using on a person, but it was projecting properly, at least at short range.

[19:40] Padishar Ishtari steps into the house and stretches a bit, smiling to Meri. "Hey. Let's do this thing outside... I'll meet you there, but I need some of my armor. Long story, I'll tell you out front." he grins. Moving his way over to get his armor on.
[19:42] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) tips her head, eyes flicking up to his as she smiles and nods "Alright...." the soft purr of laughter on her breath as she perused him with a lifted brow, then shrugged and turned to head outside. Not like she hadn't seen it all before... Her lips curving in amusement, though with a flicker of interest... Just -what- exactly did he have planned?
[19:53] Padishar Ishtari heads his way outside, pointing to Meri and then over towards the empty space in the trees, "We'll need space and no one in the cross fire, I think... My idea is pretty simple. You practice dodging, I practice throwing bolt spells in heavy armor. Because I -want- to be able to throw them in heavier armor... Make sense?" he grins at Meri a bit and wanders ahead.
[20:00] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) lifted a brow, her other rising shortly after as she follows along behind him and blinks a bit at his 'idea' before bursting out into laughter... "Oh this ought to be... fun, indeed... I'm so not leaving my wings hidden for this..." Her fingers brushing over the feathers of her necklace and closing her eyes for a moment, the silvery expanse coming into view as her hand pulled away.
[20:05] Padishar Ishtari grins a little, "So I'm going to cast lightning bolts... And you're going to dodge them. I'll make sure they aren't too strong... Don't actually want to hurt you." he smiles and starts the process of casting the spell, using a careful string of hand gestures and grinning at her, "Ready? You might need those wings. We'll start as soon as you're ready."
[20:15] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) blinked, just blinked at the reveal. "Lightning bolts... you're going to throw lightning bolts at me! Yes I'd say wings would be a good idea!" She'd laugh but her gaze narrowed as well, the sword at her side unbuckled and she'd toss it to him "Then you get to hold this, because I don't want the weight, nor the risk of a bolt hitting -it-." She'd crouch a bit, arms splayed out to the sides and fingers curling and straightening as she murmured "Bring it on...."
[20:21] Padishar Ishtari grins and catches the sword easily enough, letting the blade set down next to him as his other hand raises towards Meri. Releasing a lightning bolt towards her, it was fast as it's lightning, but it was dodge-able. He seems to be straining a little since the armor on him was sapping his magical strength. Poor Meri better move, though, he was aiming right for her.
[20:21] Padishar rolls R2 (CC:baca): 59, Zap!
[20:23] Merialeth Windstar rolls R4 (CC:bacb): 89, Dodge that Zap!
[20:24] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) squealed, her eyes flying wide, that crouch becoming a diving roll off to the side that watched as the bolt went harmlessly overhead though the sizzle sent a shiver through her and she'd hiss under her breath "Ha! Nice... try!"" Then darted to her feet, and wiggled her fingers again.
[20:27] Padishar Ishtari grins and chuckles at her, tilting his body to the side and lining up another shot. His hands move forward and launch another bolt of lightning, a lil sweat and strain evident on his forehead. "This is harder than it looks..." he grumps, the bolt was on target if she didn't move, but he was already starting to show fatigue.
[20:27] Padishar rolls R2 (CC:bacc): 9, Zap 2!
[20:36] Merialeth Windstar rolls R4 (CC:bacd): 49, Not again, you sneaky bugger!
[20:37] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) wiggled a little in place, her nose wrinkled at him as she waited for the bolt to come at her before, she'd duck low this time, nearly flattening against the grass as she felt this bolt go a little farther overhead, the static teasing over her as she shivered once more, then bounded to her feet again and turned around, in far too cocky of a mood as she teased a "Neener neener... gotta try harder, Padishar..." wiggling wings at him as she danced off and spun about
[20:39] Padishar Ishtari frowns a bit as yet another shot goes wide. He looks at his hand and keeps his strength up, firing once more at his wily summoner. His concentration looked almost painful at this point, after the third shot now, he actually broke a sweat, and she was still dodging like a pro. He smiles a little, "You ever tried this? Armor is a bitch on this plane.."
[20:39] Cupcakes (asha.silvershade) is online.
[20:40] Padishar rolls R2 (CC:bad5): 13, Zap?
[20:40] Merialeth Windstar rolls R4 (CC:bad6): 136, dancing in the grass - and avoiding another zap!
[20:42] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) laughs merrily, her muscles stretching and her wings flashing wide as the next bolt goes harmlessly below her, launching upwards and spiraling out of the way before she'd hover and grin down at him. "Nope, but - there's a reason I don't do evocs... I like armor... but I like my mage shield better." Then tucked her wings in to let herself land with a soft oof and saucy grin.
[20:45] Padishar Ishtari pulls his other hand together and fires again! Close enough to her, maybe this time he could actually hit her. He grunts with effort with the blast though, and he probably wasn't going to keep this up. This... is pretty much why he just hit things with swords if he wore armor, here.
[20:45] Padishar rolls R2 (CC:bad8): 43, Pls Zap.
[20:46] Merialeth Windstar rolls R4 (CC:bad9): 4, Please no! No Fried Meri!
[20:49] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) had gotten -too- cocky, the blast too quick for her to dodge. Her eyes flying wide as she gasped and her arms and wings flew out wide from the shock of the bolt, with a gasped "Shit!". Eyes rolling back and falling to the grass as the bolt sizzled through her and she'd shiver with the chasing of energy through her form before she'd fall silent and still, the shallow breathing the only visible sign... So not good, crispy Meri.
[20:51] Padishar Ishtari winces and moves over to help her up, "Ow...?" he grins briefly and sighs, "I'm exhausted... Did I shoot too much energy into that?" he offers a hand to try and help her up. "I think I'm done. You want to go take a break?" he winces a bit and mutters. "I need to study some more of Imposed Demand. So I can cool down with scrolls, eh?"
[20:58] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) blinked a few times, her quick inhale and glance upwards... her fingers rubbing against her chest as she swallows hard and takes his hand to lift shakily back to her feet. "That um... yea... good thing you were pulling punches with that one, hmm? I'd hate to see what full power was..."
[19:42] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) tips her head, eyes flicking up to his as she smiles and nods "Alright...." the soft purr of laughter on her breath as she perused him with a lifted brow, then shrugged and turned to head outside. [11:16] Padishar Ishtari closes the door to the magic shop and grumbles unhappily as he moves to the shelf, grabbing the scroll he wanted and heading upstairs to study alone. "Stupid girl... You get thumped upside the head and then call off one healer in favor of another." he sighs and moves upstairs with a thump thump thump, all the way up to the top floor for studying. Once he's there, he sets up shop and starts practicing the incantation for Imposed Demand, using the newer techniques he'd been practicing with all his meditation. His magic was getting stronger, more fluid and native... but it wasn't perfect. He decides for now, he was just going to cloister himself up in the magic shop until he was just too tired to practice anymore. As good a release as any, really. After a few hours he slinks his way downstairs and passes out on one of the beds, simply worn out from the fight and the frustration with Meri and her stubbornness.

Padishar returned to the forest once again. Bringing with him the supplies and stones and scrolls he wanted to study. It was just best this way, he could focus and feel more in tune with the island and the energies that flowed about the strange island. He sets up shop and spreads out a simple blanket he would use to work off of and gets to work. The spell for Imposed Demand was essentially complete. All his understanding of it was sorted and honestly the only step remaining was to use it on someone... with or without their consent, time would tell. His hands moved deftly over the stones as he laid them out around him in a simple formation, the scrolls unrolled and weighed down on the blanket with more mundane stones just so he could study over the whole array with ease. Drawing up the energy on the air and just holding it, breathing it into him and then exhaling it simply as he warms up. This process repeated until he finally goes into a meditative state... resting his eyes and concentrating on this crazy island's cosmic and arcane powers.

Padishar had studied and then shared his many stories with Meri last night. Hours upon hours of stories and reading and then more stories, and then more reading. Frankly he was tired of the textbook and wanted to get out and stretch his non-existent wings. His arms stretched out wide once he got outside and he inhaled deeply. The injuries across his body had regenerated to clean and fresh flesh.
He walks now, his sword at his hip and otherwise just wearing a tunic and some boots and gloves. Traveling into the deeper portion of the forested island in search of a quiet place he can meditate and practice and train. Once he finds a pleasant place that fits the bill, he unhinges his sword from his side and takes off his gloves, setting them aside on a nice log that shall double as a table. When he turns around he rests his eyes and starts channeling energies to him. His hands immediately beginning to glow and a certain charge swims around his frame.
The targets for today's experiment were all around him. The branches in the trees and the leaves on the branches and possibly even the small woodland creatures who were too foolish to run away when the fireworks began. Starting off small, he targets a heavy branch on a tree and lets loose a lightning bolt, aiming to shatter it and send it to the forest floor with a smashing sound. Then... simply lining up the next target, a slightly smaller branch... And then a cluster of leaves. Eventually slowing his cast speed to a more manageable rate and getting a good rhythm going. In due time he was exhausted and decides to relax for a bit, napping by the fallen log he'd turned into a table for a couple of hours. Only to pick up where he left off when he awoke.... He'd reek of ozone when he got home to Meri later in the afternoon, but at least he wasn't hurt.
