So, this one is pretty straightforward. With the balance changes that happen (and will happen, because a game is never finished), it's become apparent that everyone is sort of in a different place as far as how 'updated' we all are.
So, when one player casts a spell, or uses some form of item, they might be misinformed about any recent changes. A good example--A fey'ri friend of mine didn't know about the false form update. If I didn't compulsively check the Summoned Races page to see if Glamour has been changed to Shapeshift for demons, I wouldn't have noticed the updates to how demon stats and apps work.
Patch notes are pretty ez pz, though. Just a little blurb about what's happened. Demons are a good example, and (assuming demons are allowed rerolls for the new stats and options), something like this could be thrown on a notecard:
Demon Character App Process: Slight changes to how demons are created. Demon players may reroll if necessary.
Planetouched Race False Form Changes: Fey'ri, Tiefling, and other similar planetouched Gifts are now Subraces, and those players may reroll to select an additional gift!
Armor Rebalance: Armor HP values updated, Full Plate added. Requirements rebalanced. Yadda yadda.
Things like that. Just keeping everyone updated. Something to throw in a notecard in a notice, or up into a form post and link it through the notice. Just keeps the playerbase informed without having to hunt down changes or be called out, and it cleans up notices that might be sent out when a change is made to a few races at once.
