:: Valesk Voice Employee Pay-rolls and Profit Information ::
The Source of Money :
According to the current prices of paper, quills, and the penmanship required in writing even with assisted cantrips, I have come up with a projected income.
For 300 papers to be created, it takes approximately 1 silver and twenty copper (120 c/1 s, 20c)
With understanding of how many people could actually read in the medieval ages, and how papers were treated as a whole at times, a reasonable selling price had been settled at 7 copper per household/single noble for a single week...
With about 400 applications submitted according to a mentors number, and about 100 NPC's active, we can assume that every 2 people will have 1 paper, or either every family will have 1... And we must also take into account that the current price settler's nature is one of a slightly more-greedy fellow.
That being said, 2 copper will be deducted from the 7 at most shops due to commission.
That leaves each paper bringing a profit of 5 copper to the team.
Let's assume every paper will be sold...
5 x 300 = 1500...
And that there will be proximately 3 business advertisements per paper, around 250 copper in total.
(2s 50c)
1500 + 250 = 1750.
We can assume there will be sponsors from wealthy individuals seeking to put their name out and ensure the paper is in a certain light...
1750 + 400 = 2150
We can assume the businesses weekly income is 2150.
2150 - COSTS (120) = 2030.
Ranks as follows ...
Editor N Chief
Editor
Columnist
Journalist
Assistant
Let's assume we have a full team..
Editor N Chief x1
Editor x 2
Columnist x2
Journalist x 2
Assistant x 3
Journalists should receive ~1 silver a week.
Columnists should receive ~1.5 silver a week, as their work is skewed away from reporting and into personal opinions.
Editor's, ~2 silver, as equivalent of managers..
Assistants, varying on task.
2030 Becomes 1030 after main, non Editor N Chief and Assistant ranks are paid for.
Editor N Chief receives ~ 4 silver a week...
Leaving 6 silver to be divided between assistants and their duties, as well as bonuses.
It should be noted that our assistants can vary from personal guards to simple runners. A guard, for example, might make as much as 3 silver a week due to being on the risk of his life for our reporters, columnists and so forth when they are investigating. Others might not make as much.
** It is assumed that there will be some left over profits in case of home wreckage, sim emergencies and the so forth in order to ensure the businesses survival **
Final Conclusion on Pay :
Editor and Chief : 4 Silver/week
Editor : ~ 2 Silver/week
Columnist : ~ 1.5 Silver/week
Journalist : ~ 1 Silver/week
Assistants : Vary on task.
These DO NOT include bonuses, raises or other specials that come from good RP. Want more money? You can get there! It just takes your work to succeed, and for us to make more money too!
