Venus gets a book on enchantment
[18:18] Venus walked over to the counter and placed her hands on the counter. "Hi, I was wondering if you have book on doing simple enchantments? I need to practice enchanting." [18:22] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) chuckled softly once more, her own good nature still in place, regardless of having spent the funds. She knew she'd get it bck, in spades, for what she didn't use in her own. "Hm... at the immediate moment, I can make up a list for you and have it to you in a day or so, hm? I like to meander and find some of it myself, but I'm always intrigued to see another's methods of collecting. Stop by tomorrow, or let me know where I can find you - and I'll get back with you on that, sound alright?" Her eyes flicking over as she perused the woman still patiently observing, "And what was it that you were needing miss? Ahh - yes indeed, I have just the thing..." Her gaze flicking back to Cedar as she added, stepping to the scrollcase behind her, "If I try to list out things now, it'll be hurried and I know I'll forget something, will that work?" Her fingertips tracing over the case as she hummed again softly under her breath, the soft descant teasing at the womens' ears. Meri'd pause as one of the scrolls glowed when her fingers neared it, the tug towards her and quick perusal before she'd move back to the coun [18:22] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) and nodded to the one asking. "Here you go... that'll be... hm..." Thinking a moment then nodding "Fifteen copper, it's simply a base, but it'll get you started, and as you get more skilled I have other things to help you progress." [18:22] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan): counter*) [18:31] Venus reached in the pocket of her dress and only realized she only had 10 copper left after she had bought some herbs for a medicine she was trying to prefect. "Would you be willing to sell sell it for ten copper?" she asked shyly. Maybe after this she ould go and beg Hilde to give her an advance on her next pay if she could not get the book today.
[18:34] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) dashed Cedar a smile over, "Wonderful... I look forward to seeing you." Her attention then shifting back to the one who'd asked about enchanting, the same warm smile offered to her as well as she listened to them both and started to carefully place her new 'treasures' beneath the counter for now til they could be properly cataloged. The woman's question brought her up short, the tip of her head as she perused the woman's face a moment. "When would you have the other five?" Her voice softened a bit, though her gaze was still as direct while she waited for the woman to reply. She'd noticed Cedar's lingering, but for the moment, stayed focused on the one before her.
[18:39] Venus fidgeted a bit as she thought. "Well, It would depend if the infirmary can give me an advance on my next pay." she smiled a bit nervous. "But I promise I'll pay in full for it!" she rushed to say.
[18:48] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) 's eyes held on the woman, finally nodding slowly "I'd expect no less were someone to make a promise." Her brows furrowed a moment, knowing she'd seen the woman before, but the place escaping her. "Alright, if you're not able to get an advance, bring me some sort of note from your employer, and I'll hold it as a promissory note. When you bring me the five remaining, I'll count us even. How's that?" [18:48] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) then slid the scroll across the counter and offered a smile.
[18:53] Venus smiled eagerly and nodded like a happy child. "Yes! Thank you so much. The infirmary is just across the way. I'll ask Hilde as soon as I go over there." she pointed in the direction of the infirmary, she then reached into her pocket and pulled out the 10 copper to give the manager.
[18:56] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) nodded and couldn't help the smile that answered the woman's eagerness. She'd wait til the coin was offered, taking it in hand and nod towards the scroll, murmuring "That's fine, just let me know by tomorrow. I know she can be a bit... cranky at times..." the soft chuckle on her breath as she stepped back and added "If there's anything else you need, be sure to let me know."
[19:03] Venus nodded. "I shall return tomorrow with a note or payment. Which ever she decides to give." she smiled and reached out for the book. She wasn't sure if the manager would let her take the book or not
[19:05] Merialeth Windstar (caireannliadan) flicked a glance back over at Cedar, the soft chuckle on her breath as the brunette chimed back in, another dip of her head and good-natured nod "Indeed, I do..." Moving to a different section of the scrollcase... her fingers again shifting over the shelves, that soft hum on her breath, though she'd reach the end, breaking off to mutter under her breath and cast a glance upwards at where Damien was sprawled out in a corner. "Lil short-lifer messing with my scrolls again..." the soft sigh on her breath and spinning on her toes, that soft rustling sounding as she peered down at the pile of books haphazardly settled, then turned back as she sensed the woman's hesitation. "Go on ahead, I'll see you tomorrow then hm?" Then crouched down to tug a scroll from behind the pile. Straightening and turning back in one smooth movement, the air seeming to brush into the close confines of the scrolls as she pivoted on her toes and made her way back to Cedar. "Fifteen copper it'll be..." with a chuckle on her breath as she presented the scroll to the brunette.
