Training for Reflexes with Mountain Man [22:59] Gerald Baker grins and calls over to Kynaston "Sorry, lad. Gonna have a spar." as he removes his shield an axe, setting them down to the side. He then claps his hands together and faces Ella with a grin, saying "I'll let you have first blow, lass."
[22:59] Bu'zyasti'in gave a lazy shrug in Skyrah's direction, though his expression remained friendly and easygoing. "Ah cannae complain. Aye, if'n ye think ye need ta. Ah've got plent o' time on me 'ands," he replied cheerily, before stepping out of the way just enough for the fleeing redhead to escape. That much accomplished, he glanced back over to Abassi and allowed himself a deep, rumbling chuckle before pointing out, "Would Ah tell ye if'n Ah was, lass?" The huge mer waved distractedly over at Ella, then remarked, "What she said," before turning his single eye to fix upon Kyn searchingly, as if considering. "Ta be fair, Ah dinnae think a demon would be stupid enough ta answer that truthfully either," he teased. "Even sae, Ah'd drag th' wee one ta someone suited ta take care o' it. Sure as shite dinnae be me, ye ken?" Since coming under scrutiny, he'd mostly forgotten about the tiny pink-haired one. Of course, he was pretty used to intimidating people entirely by accident as well.
[23:04] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) knew that Bu was not a demon so she was not as worried as the others though her eyes did land on Abassi, her eyebrows raise as the woman seems a bit different "you okay there Harbringer?" she asks with a slight tilt of her head before looking back at Bu "tomorrow you available to meet then? I can send a message to you through a companion of mine to set up a place and time?" She was feeling a bit too uncomfortable but she really tried to not show it "I have got a few things I need to take care of before the night ends."
[23:04] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu smirks and swiftly pulls out her heavy polearm strung to her back, nodding once at Gerald in acknowledgement as she adds "Thats mighty gallant of you Sir!", and just as suddenly spreads her feet firmly planted in the ground and heaves the weapon and swings it, the back of the blade aimed at the huge man's shoulder, well it was only a training spar. No attention is paid to anything else as she kept eyes on Gerald, hoping she could get at least some reflex training practice from this.

[23:08] Gerald Baker was expecting Ella to put her weapon down, much like he did his... but instead, she swung it at him! Reaching up with a speed that surprises even him, he would bat the weapon away, diverting its course to miss him. He would then take a step forward and reach out, attempting to shove Ella backward. He said he wouldn't throw... but nothing about a shove.

[23:11] Abassi felt almost nauseated as the pink haired woman strolled past her and the taint underneath her flesh crawled like spiders once more. She stepped back, blinking and peered to Skyrah as she asked her about her wellbeing. " What?" was all she got before the redman was looked upon again. "True but ya nevah know who has some big knockers, no?" The use of knockers could of been better... but common wasn't her first language, so how was she to know? " Kendrick we definitely have some work ta do... yeah." The name of the poor elementalist was lost to her again and she turned, rubbing her face after removing the pipe and accidentally spilling the herb on the ground having forgotten she packed it. " Shit. Ohkay. Enuff for me today... Goodnight to ya all..."
[23:12] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu gets promptly shoved, so much for being a brat and swinging the butt of the scythe at the huge man. She blinks and struggles to recover from the shove, poor as her reflexes were, she does fail. However, this enrages her, and she -now- drops the heavy weapon that was hindering her and just bends, not even resorting to her magic but charges headfirst into Gerald's midsection, her whole upper body hurting from the shove as she moved to headbutt, she definitely needed to improve those reflexes.

[23:12] Kynaston Chasin gave a chuckle to Gerald, "I believe I owe the Lady Ella a spar as well, at a later time of course." But now his attention was far back on Bu, "I am well aware that a demon may speak lies, with pretty silver tongues. But there is a reason I ask such questions- as I am looking for something beyond just an answer to the question. As for ones on susceptibility, while you may not be a demon, you are clearly one to hide something, and which you choose to arm yourself with dry humor as a decoy. But I can at least commend you for playing along." Now had began to feel the wear of the night as it grew late. His shoulders sagged a bit from the weight of the crossbow. He shifted his weight from foot to foot as even the bottoms of his feet began to burn. "Indeed I do believe it is a perfect place to end the evening, as I am fearful that I too should return back to my reports and projects await my attention." He dipped himself into a formal bow in a manner of farewell to all those present.

[23:15] Tyri Lhinneth: As she walked passed everyone she noticed 2 people sparring as she thought to herself i better not get to close to that.
[23:18] Bu'zyasti'in glanced back over to Sky and flashed fangs in a grin, then replied, "Aye, Ah can dae that. Ye can find me by th' waters, Ah'm sure ye already knew that though." Pushing his luck? Probably. The huge Mer's single eye darted over to Abassi upon hearing her words...then widened considerably. A broad grin spread across his features, and a deep chuckle emanated from him...knockers...HA. "Sommat like that, aye," he drawled, before glancing back over to Kyn and waving a beefy arm in a dismissive manner, "Aye, Ah figured as much. If'n ye feel th' need, put me through any tests ye may need ta, lad. Ah'm nae 'idin' anything that be 'armful ta anyone but meself." He paused for a moment as the man continued, then dipped his head in farewell and turned his gaze upon the pair knocking heads further into the yard with considerable interest. "Rest well then, ta all ye departin'," he murmured distractedly.
[23:19] Gerald Baker grins as Ella is sent tumbling backwards and would chuckle a bit. Then as Ella bows down to... headbutt him? He would chuckle some more, ground himself, and tighten his stomach. Even so, though, this girl had some power behind her. As her head makes contact with his stomach, he'd grunt and mumble "Ow..." before he would reach out... and try to pick Ella up by the belt... then promptly drop her. STILL NOT THROWING! Whether this works or not, he'd call over to Kynaston "Well it might be a couple days 'fore you get the chance, lad." accounting for scrapes and bruises
[23:19] Gerald Baker rolls R5 (CC:bbfa): 49, Drop it like it's hot
[23:20] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls Dice (CC:bbfb): 81, UNtrained Reflex AGAIN

[23:21] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) nods her head to Abassi "I will try to seek you out again when your less busy, have a good evening and safe paths to you." Her attention going back to Bu "yes I will see you tomorrow then." Though when the naga mentioned not being harmful to anyone else but himself she snorted but made no comment, that was clearly a lie. She nod her head to the rest of the group before heading off through the gates of the keep to make her way back to the den.
[23:24] Kynaston Chasin hardly needed Skyrah's little snort to indiciate otherwise. Despite Bu'zyasti'in's mannerisms, Cynric did not find him all to unlikeable and at least gave him a nod for concentment to be scruitinized and tested. Tough it was clear nothing further would come this evening - but it probably sure beated just getting a crossbow bolt lodged into the rib at random. "I shall be seeing you around than, sir." He headed out.
[23:24] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu grits her teeth as she gave it her all in bashing against Gerald's mountain like frame and blinks as she hears him grown, a slight smirk lining her lips as she focuses to better the speed of her movements, and luckily sees his intention to pick her up? Really? She sways to a side and swiftly evades that somehow, but still bent this time, she springs up, jumping while she locks her hands together, bends her elbows and with the clasped hands, just aims a punch at the side of his face, like with both hands held together like how one would hold a bat or something.

[23:26] Gerald Baker rolls R3 (CC:bbfd): 59, Did it hurt the air?
[23:27] Tyri Lhinneth: she waved goodbye to all the people that left. as she felt her uneasiness let up.
[23:28] Gerald Baker blinks as Ella's belt was there, just within his grasp... then it was not, just like that... this woman sure is a squirmy thing, ain't she? Turning his head to follow her, he would lean back in time to dodge the punch aimed towards his face... once bitten twice shy when it comes to getting his teeth knocked in (Lookin' at you, Kynaston). Though he would then laugh and reach out to try and clap a hand down onto Ella's shoulder. A very heavy, very strong hand... aiming to crash down onto her shoulder, as he says "You can hit, lass, I'll give you that!"
[23:29] Gerald Baker rolls R5 (CC:bbfe): 13, Gimme five down low
[23:30] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls Dice (CC:bbff): 35, That is why one must not be.. umm.. overtly self assured.. aka a smartass.
[23:30] Prohawk HUD: Rolled Dice: (1-100):35
[23:30] Bu'zyasti'in flashed a grin at the departing male and rumbled, "Aye, Ah expect ye will, stranger." Turning to the fore again, he peered around and realized it got rather quiet rather quickly. Still though, the spar held most of his attention for the time being, drawing him to lapse into a silence as he moved slightly closer. Interested snake was interested.
[23:33] Tyri Lhinneth: letting the couple spar she said "well i better go back to my studies." as she walked out the gate
[23:34] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu 's super doublehanded punch fails remarkably and she grunts in anger, even at Gerald's comment and she gnashes her teeth "I can do more than hit.. but I'm holding back", she mumbles as she grunts to slide to a side in reflex and evade his crushing attempt and herself turns to a side to push her own shoulder against him with all her strength despite being hurt already, in hopes to at least make him stumble or something.

[23:41] Gerald Baker chuckles "I am, too. Notice... I haven't beaten the ground with you yet." he quirks a brow as he looks down at Ella as she seems to... lean into him a bit. Ever the helpful fellow, he would stand there a moment, steadfast and unaware of her assault. He would smile down at her, then reach out to shove her away from him, calling out "Alright, alright, 'nuff of that. No stoppin' t' rest while we're sparring!"
[23:42] Gerald Baker rolls R5 (CC:bc03): 89, Gerroff!

Rolled R5: (1-150):89
Max (Nominal/Actual):100/150
Bonus (Nominal/Actual):50/0
[23:45] Bu'zyasti'in lifted a beefy arm in distracted farewell to the pink-haired one, though his eyes remained fixed upon the two sparring, unable to entirely keep a grin from his features hearing the pair exchange words as well as blows. If nothing else, it was certainly entertaining.
[23:45] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu mutters. sorry bout the crashes ))
[23:52] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu can't even make Gerald blink, let alone stumble and NOW she gets mad, it was hard to be honorable when one was losing and adrenaline had taken over and Gerald's smart mouth did -not- help and she just stares at the man muttering through gritted teeth "You ask for it... all bets off", and she just mumbles an incantation, loud enough for Gerald to hear so he could anyway react and her fingers wiggle as she casts a Lightning bolt hoping to cause medium damage, at Gerald's backside, as in you know the part of your body that you sit on? Flashes of electricity rise and with a crackly sound would start to emanate iin that direction.
[23:52] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bc04): 93, bangs and whistles. SORRY! Magic

Rolled R8: (1-180):93

[23:54] Gerald Baker rolls R6 (CC:bc05): 25, Time to test... RESISTANCE!
[23:59] Gerald Baker blinks and tilts his head as Ella starts chanting things, and he hears crackling nearby. It wasn't the fire, so what was going on here? He would look around a moment before just staring at Ella. Having never fought a magic user before... or at least one that used magic in combat, well he didn't know what to think. But by the time it dawned at him that maybe she was one of them 'magicky types', it would have been too late for him to act.
[00:02] ObiOneAnd42nd (gadget Cyberstar): ((Okay, so reposting due to a misunderstanding))
[00:02] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu nods and braces self. gah ))
[00:04] Gerald Baker blinks and tilts his head as Ella starts chanting things, and he hears crackling nearby. It wasn't the fire, so what was going on here? He would look around a moment before just staring at Ella. Having never fought a magic user before... or at least one that used magic in combat, well he didn't know what to think. Finally, he realizes that Ella might be one of them 'magicky types' and she is readying to do some hoodoo! And so he'd call out "No hoodoo!" before stomping toward Ella. Reaching out, he would try to give her a REAL shove. No more velvet gloves, he would try to send her straight off of her feet with this one.
[00:04] Gerald Baker rolls R5 (CC:bc06): 40, Ah (sss) push it!
[00:06] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls Dice (CC:bc07): 93, reflex, gah
[00:06] Prohawk HUD: Rolled Dice: (1-100):93
[00:08] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu was -really- determined and she does not let -anything- come in her way now, not even mountain man. She stays firmly put in her place with nothing but a soft jitter as she continues chanting and raises her hands while she wiggles her fingers, rays of sharp lightning emanating hopefully to strike Gerald's bum. Oh yeah all the hoodoo with the gleamy eyes and sparkly fingers and crackly noises. Lighting Bolt.
[00:09] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bc08): 68, Magic, Dont let me down now!

Bonus (Nominal/Actual):80/0
[00:09] Gerald Baker rolls R6 (CC:bc09): 110, Lightning bolt vs AWESOMENESS!
[00:14] Gerald Baker let out a final cry of "Hoodoo!" before the lightning bolt flashed, striking his lower back. There was a crackle, a flash, and a boom, and there he stood... unharmed, if quite surprised. Turning around, he would look about in the direction the bolt had come from... and it would be seen that there was a hole charred through his shirt where the bolt struck... but that was it. "Wut?" is all he would ask, clearly quite confused... though that is no major feat in itself. He then smiles as he thinks he figured out what happened! Turning, he would again try to bring a crushing hand down onto Ella's shoulder as he says "Ach, yer hoodoo done fizzed!"
[00:14] Gerald Baker rolls R5 (CC:bc0a): 73, something something clever...
[00:15] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls Dice (CC:bc0b): 32, Reflex, badamtisshhh
[00:15] Prohawk HUD: Rolled Dice: (1-100):32
[00:22] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu is super frustrated and well that is never good, and she curses, under her breath, not the kind of words you'd expect from that pretty mouth ya know. And is too slow to bend to a side when Gerald's giant hand comes crashing down on her shoulder, "AAGH", she calls out and snarls in pain and once more, mutters the -same- incantation and this time the bolts just swiftly course through her fingertips as she bends down in pain and points her hand up to Gerald's hand that just hit her.
[00:22] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bc0c): 67, Magic, nope too late to say someting cool and stuff
[00:22] Prohawk HUD:
Rolled R8: (1-180):67
Max (Nominal/Actual):100/180
Bonus (Nominal/Actual):80/0
[00:23] Gerald Baker rolls R6 (CC:bc0d): 136, You remind me of the babe...
[00:31] Gerald Baker blinks as she gets the lightning AGAIN! What happened to her taking a minute to talk about lightning before she casts it?! As she sends the bolt at him, he would jump and yelp, but still... he would look then down to his hand and frown before turning the frown to Ella "Stop that... I don't like hoodoo." well now he just looks like a very large, upset child
[00:33] Ella (MaiaCalhoun)'s whole torso hurt, and seeing as he stopped to talk, she takes the moment to put a LOT of distance in between them and rubs her shoulder as she looks at him as if she was super confused "What?? Are we done? Like for real?", she asks as if she expected to either knock HIM out or BE knocked out in what was just a training session. Idly rolling her shoulder in its socket she keeps her eyes on Gerald, all the while and stifles groans of pain. She was pretty bruised and banged up.

Combat advice from a Tiefling! [16:31] Tief chuckles and shakes her head. "First laddie, that ain't be what I said. But tha's fine. An secondly, I donnae know how yah got wrangled into that. Every sparrin' match I been in, winner always buys. keeps things on tha best of terms. Thirdly, I'm here to be teachin ... note tha' gear I brought this afternoon, aye? You kin teach tha magecraft .... I kin teach tha pokin' of folks." The tiefling slowly shrugs the shield from her back and bracing it on one leg begins the task of drawin' it on and strapping down the buckled leather tight.
[16:36] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu walks into the keep, a bit late perhaps for the training sessions but nevertheless she -did- have to train for reflexes. Even if it was against an immobile dummy. Lame. Anyhow, she walks in to see the usual faces of Cynric and Tief and by now accustomed to their presence she nods "Greetings Everyone!", and walks up to Bradock and as usual greets him with a polite-for-company kiss on the cheek before stepping back and looking around "How has it been going? the Training?", she idly adjusts the strap around her chest that held her polearm secured behind her and looks around "I can still get some in? yes?"
[16:39] Bradock (Katarr) tilts his head in confusion to the Tiefling. An index finger raises so that he could point back at Tief. "Wait, if the winner always buys, then, why would you even try in the sparring match? I would just immediately surrender as soon as it started so that I'd get a free drink out of the deal." That was a bold faced lie. Bradock was far too competitive to ever give up. But the point was made otherwise." He merely grins back towards Cynric as he speaks, only for the familiar voice of Ella to ring from behind him. "Oh, there you are. Good timing." As he says this, he leans over to place a kiss back along her cheek in greeting. "I think Cynric and I were about to run down to the Ugly Duckling really quick - I owe him a drink. And, I know you've been wanting to train in toe to toe combat some more. I think she-" A polite open handed gesture is preformed within Tief's direction. "Might be JUST who you're looking for."
[16:43] Kynaston Chasin pats his own shoulder, "It was by his own cred that I now benefit from a drink to be had. I do see value in doing it the other way around, especially if tension was developed. I believe this one didn't quite hit on it, as Bradock nearly blasted the thing to pieces on his first attack, and I only finished it off on my own attack. It was too short lived to be.. feirce. But ah, Bradock, that is when you slap a man in the face if he fails to perform in the spar after its been initiated!" Ella's arrival was met with a dipped polite bow in her direction, "Welcome, Welcome. And indeed, while I might need to be leaving soon, there is no reason that the three of you can not continue enjoying the evening. If I get some time later this evening, or in the earlier hours before noon tomorrow, I will try to personally invite more people out for the session at one tomorrow. Get some more trainees to trickle in! And it does seem like Tief and Ella could be a good match to work on things togehter, But unfor
[16:43] Kynaston Chasin: it is not to head over to the tavern, not at this time! But if you need to slip off to the tavern for a bit, you may head with me back into town."
[16:54] Tief looks across to Ella, her head tiling a bit, as he gave the lassie a good lookin' over. She answers Chasin with a nod. "Tha' be the right of it. Sparrin is supposed to be between comrades, and no matter how fine a bloke is, after he's been pounded into tha dirt or been so close to winnin but naught, bein' demanded to provide drinks is just dashin' salt in tha wounds. Winner buys breaks tha' tension and reminds tha winner to be properly thankin' tha fellow that allowed tha match to be occurin' in the first place." She thn shook her head, "Now I can prolly teach yah a bit lassie, but we can nae spar. First, you got no armor on yah arms, which means even itf I miss you could be parryin' yourself into tha infirmiry. Oh sure, I could be lettin' you put up tha' fancy shield all you mages gots ... but no self respectin' swordsman should be givin you tha three blows to pull tha' off - so its only teachin' you bad habits. So let m conundrum this out for a bit ..."
[16:58] Kynaston Chasin smirked as Tief launches straight into training mode on Ella. Cynric peers back towards Bradock, "Perhaps we will see if our spars ever become intense and heated, that we need the winner to buy to cool things back off." And with that he slipped off out of the Keep and down the road.
[16:59] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu blinks. "You?? Surrender for a drink?? Hah!", she smirks at Bradock and shakes her head "You are buying him a drink? means you lost?", she wiggles her eyebrows and turns to Cynric "You must teach me what you used on him.", she smiles politely and bows her head shortly to both the males if they were to depart and then looks at Tief, trying hard to shrug off the weird physical feeling of discomfort, despite a polite respect she held for the woman in her unfailing presence to train every day at the Keep, she walks up to her and shakes her head with a short grin, "Nah do not fret on that score, I have a pair of bracers in the keep I'm sure... I can go grab some. And no magic... I need to learn to move faster with this heavy polearm is all. If you would be so inclined to spare some time on a friendly spar it would greatly help, as I personally have seen a bit of your training.", she jerks a finger to point to the keep. "If you say yes I shall go get prepared...", she nods and then looks
[16:59] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu: and sends a wave in his direction "Farewell then Cynric!"
[16:59] Bradock (Katarr) opens his mouth to let forth a soft "Ah." At Cynric. His head nevertheless shakes from side to side at the man's offer. "I think I'll stay here then and watch Ella get her butt kicked." A teasing grin is ossed towards his spouse before addressing Cynric. "Either way, thanks for the game, Cynric. We'll have to have that man-date another time." A playful wink accompanies his words nonetheless. "If you're heading into town, I'll see you around." Moving off to the side in anticipation for a potential sparring match to break out, he glances between the two women. "If I lost the match, it seems only fair to me to provide the drinks. I think of it as encouragement why not to lose again!"
[17:06] Tief simply raised a brow at Ella's reply. "Heavy? Unless tha' crop cutter o your was made by a hack, an you be tall enough to use it, heavy is tha' last thing it should be. Sure it gots weight, but it should be easy enough to carry in one hand an' properly balanced to nay be goin' anywhere yah donnae want it too.' she then tilted her head, arms crossing. "But I do have a question or two. Why do yah carry that' manner of weapon? It does look fierce an' all theatrical ... but what does it get yah beyond that?"
[17:12] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu sticks her tongue out at Bradock and shakes her head "I just want to -learn-...Its no big deal", she shrugs and then crosses her arms responding quickly and casually to the female's question "It is not about dramatics or theatrics... It was taught to me since I was a child is all.. and I never disobeyed my father, He blessed me with this weapon and I took it up is all. It has served me well and I have learned to use it to my advantage", she smiles not at all unkindly and shakes her head "Balance is one thing, and how one handles it is another. My upper body and shoulders have gone accustomed to carrying it and using it thereby giving me the strength to swing it easily but what I need help with is nimble footwork... the kind that men so huge practice with blades so springy and needle like.. Can you help with that? Is my question?"
[17:20] Tief shakes her head at that, "Lets take yah at your word. Tha' you have been usin' that crop cutter all your life an' are actually pretty good at it. So what we are doin' know is helpin' you be real good at it. Tha first place it starts is knowin' that weapon of yours. Because you have been been starting on tha wrong foot. Literally, lassie." He'd then wave the newcomer over. "Knife, I need yah for a demonstration. "Now I know how I would us that scythe of yours lassie. Before I continue, What do you see the use of it as? I mean what is its purpose, beyond poking someone. Remember, you are nae a polearm fighter like Knife here ... you cast magic. I know you do. youwere frying our cook."
[17:21] Bradock (Katarr): (( Back ))
[17:21] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): (( wb ))
[17:22] Bradock (Katarr): (( Thanks! ))
[17:23] Knife steps forward wordlessly, smelling of the deep wood and takes up a position near Tief and the woman with the scythe. As she does so, she reaches behind her and loosens the straps that secure her weapon.
[17:24] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) is offline.
[17:25] Bradock (Katarr) clasps his hands behind his back as he watches the pair in front of him. The other woman entering the area is met with a small smile and nod but otherwise, Bradock remains silent.
[17:29] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu quirks her eyebrow and undoes the strap on her chest belt that held the scythe behind her back and brings the weapon into her arms, not in an offensive position at all, but like someone who would look over something to examine it, she looks at her scythe and speaks to Tief first "Well polearms, generally put distance between you and an opponent while on equal footing, the blade at the end of the pole mostly determines how you inflict damage, by a slashing move, or a piercing move... And how...", her answer to Tief is stopped in half as she looks up at the darkening sky and the wind picking up "Hmmm... looks like it might rain...", she raises her face to teh sky and covers her eyes with a palm as a cap like shield before nodding at Knife who had approached as well and turning to glance at Bradock who seemed silent for the moment.
[17:38] Tief nodded, "That would be true, for anything EXCEPT that scythe of yours. Its purpose, lassie is simple. It is to convince folks to stay away from you so you can blast them with your magic. Now that seems obvious. But that crop cutter is probably the only polearm that is more dangerous close in than far. Take a look at that blade and compare it too Knifes. " She pointed to head of the glaive. "Its leading edge is long, slightly curved an sharp - thus its killing edge is perfectly suited for chops and returns ... its called tha hack an' slash. but look at this. The Scythes killing edge is his oddness, the under curve of the blade. You don't hit nothing with it on your attack swing. Sure you got a point, but for somethin' so small to puncture armor you got to hit perfect. That rarely happens. The back edge. That's what we call a glancing blow." The tiefling then stepped right up to Ella's nose. "You want to know how to take out a big guy with a sword? You don't need fancy foot work ....
[17:40] Tief continues. "You want to be right here, face to face? Why? Now look where the undercurve of your scythe is. its over me bloody shoulder. So you do what farmers do. you THRESH. You pull it straight down as hard as you can. Where does that start?" The tiefling miled. "Not upper bodr. It starts in your foot, to your legs, then your hips then to shoulders and arms. Show her Kinfe ... full body longarm strike."
[17:44] Bradock (Katarr) glances to the sky with Ella when she looks at him. "Huh, you're right..." Glancing back towards the pair, his eyes suddenly widen at his smacks himself on the forehead in a "Doh!" like sound that follows. "I forgot to fix that hole in the ceiling. Our stuff is going to get soaked if it rains!" he suddenly glances over his shoulder. "I'll be right back! I need to patch up that ceiling!" He calls out as he begins to jog towards the gate of the Warden's Keep to make his way home.
[17:44] Knife: :rips her glaive out of its loosened ties and swings it around in a fierce arc, its tip just barely clearing the ground at the nadir of its arc. As the weapon swing up level to the ground her arms hold it tucked into her side. With the upward momentum arrested, she jams it forward in a hard full-body thrust, extending to the length of her arm. The tip doesn't quiver at all but remains perfectly motionleses suspended in the air.
[17:48] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu looks at Tief and nods as she goes to explain what Ella did on a normal basis but yes ideally the balance on the feet is what she needed help with, as Tief asks Knife to demonstrate, she pays proper attention to the move, commenting only when it was done as she adds "Aye, Up close, Thresh... fine... I normally use that move but where I fail usually is the reflex swing when the opponent parries, I swing a bit slower as the weight at the edge of my pole sets me off balance a bit, it is just practice yes?", once more she frowns "It is unusual this darkness of the clouds...", she nods as Brad runs off "Just be careful! I will be home shortly as well!", she calls out after him and then turns to look at Tief and Knife "Pardon my distraction but perhaps we ought to take this inside the keep? It is only a small demonstration.. tehre is enough space within as well.. why let the rain mar free movement while learning? Yes?"
[17:50] Batman Tyrneamitore (Grant Kirax): Batman Tyrneamitore (Grant Kirax): And the storm arrived, the sound of violent crackling thunder as pure white lightning shoots across the sky, hitting a tree in the forest somewhere. The animals flee and hide, for whatever has occurred is not something they wise to be near.
[17:50] Batman Tyrneamitore (Grant Kirax): Batman Tyrneamitore (Grant Kirax): The sailors in lower Aberwyth grimace and ships are tied down as best they can with the turbulent seas. The rain increases, drenching those who are not prepared. The smell of the tide, and a hint of rotting fish draws into the area.
[17:52] Tief laughs a bit as she steps back. "Then you use the haft to push them back. All in all, tha' may be the bst weapon for a battlemage - your opponent needs to close to stop you from casting ... but in close is where you are best. The only thing you then need is something to stop him from bopping you before your shield goes up." She looked to the sky and then to the keep. "I'm a tiefling ... not a witch. I donnae melt ...." She then considered the keep some more. "do yah really think they'd let me in there?"
[17:56] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu wrinkles her nose and sheathes her weapon before looking at Tief, "What if.. I cannot... shield myself by magic? I need swifter moves yes? My skills on magic are far different from a Battlemage's", she stops talking and just blinks as heavy droplets of water drench her metallic armor with clinky sounds "Yes yes.. well you have been around here all these days of training... I dare say it should not be a problem... Come on in before it gets any worse... You might be a tiefling and not a witch but staying in the rain and training is pretty foolish no matter what!"
[18:07] Tief shakes her head and lets out a long breath. "Well lassie, to tell you the truth, there's a passle of answers to tha' question. None of them are very exciting. first, you make sure you got tha' shield up before yah get into combat. Next, , that's to train your self up to matching skills with tha folks you are fighting. But then, no need to be a mage, you jus' beat them down all regular like. next, you learn to run backwads very very fast, because all they have to do is tag you and you have to start casting all over. last. How often do you see me an' Knife apart? We are a team, lassie. Find yourself a good sword and shield bloke an' keep him or her between you an' your opponent. "
[18:13] Ella 'Armisael' Moraeu walks into the Keep along with Tief and nods "Well that is why I married Bradock! Him and I are rarely away during a real battle situation... But at this time I really do not like the sound of this rain and thunder...", she mutters and shakes her head at Tief, "I cannot shield myself with magic... hence most of the time I am more armored than most mages... So in the end you say it all boils down to playing based on your strengths... Hmmm... I fight mostly beings that have evil magic in them... and granted my offensive evocation spells need distance.. but there are other lowlifes that are almost as magical as that wooden spoon over there that fight more on a level plane, hand to hand... If not with the weapon, and i am not encumbered by it, would you have tips on how I evade grasps and return blows with fists?"
[18:13] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): ** "Well that is one of the reasons I married Bradock"
[18:19] Tief laughs and tugs at one of her ribbons. "that's what it always comes down to lassie. If you already know how to fight, its all a matter of playing to your own strength an' making sure you are putting them at the ... so for me ... this is just a thunderstorm. If'n you want to search it's sorce, that is probably somethin' you are much better at than me." She took a breath. "But its why I lecture beforepicking up a wooden sword. The art is first knowing your own weapon ... then knowin' your opponents ... and then .. then controllin' the fight."
[18:24] Knife opens the doors and comes into the keep, her armor and hair soaked. "Tief!" she says, rather sharply. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but there is trouble down at the Duckling. We should go." She looks over at Ella. "You too, if you want. I'm sure we could use the help."
[18:25] Tief blinks and immediately turns, "Time to be goin ... got work." And a shield to keep the rain off!

A.. Punching Bag? [15:59] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) heads to the Warden's Keep lugging and dragging along with her a tied up bag, to a long length of steady corded rope. The Bad seemed to be packed with something tightly, making it look like a smooth elliptical heavy pillow but it was definitely heavy, as Ella seemed to grunt and strain as she brought it up to the Keep walls. It was a bag made of what looked like smooth material also, like elastic gunny sack kind. "Oh hello there Cynric", she greets the familiar male who was stood just outside the entrance. Taking a moment and releasing the hold on the bag.
[16:07] Cynric did not particularly seem to be up to anything beyond just standing idle at the gates into the Warden’s Keep. His gaze would befall upon Ella as she made her way up the small hill towards the keep herself. His gaze soon moving on to the bag she held- tilting his head slightly to the side. “Is your armor still not finished?” He inquired, really having no idea what she was carrying, what was in the bag, but recalling the clear sign of armor pieces being moved to the smith the last time.
[16:14] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) shakes her head, "Oh that has been fixed, I paid hefty I tell ya...", she pauses to rub at her shoulder from the strain but nevertheless notices him look at the bag. She grins "This here bag is going to help me train and develop my reflexes you see... I was going to tie this up high and throw punches at it, the suspension and the weight and the earth's pull all will make it come back and hit me and I will learn to dodge it.. Aye", she grinned, a bit smug even, as she was proud of her makeshift Valeskan Punching Bag. She shrugs "'Tis hard to find someone to help with training always yanno... this was I can do it myself! I am tired of beating Bradock up and seeing him fall on his ass... ", she laughs but then shakes her head "Nope. That never gets old, but aye.. I do need to find a way to do it myself. I have even been thinking of trying to learn the skills to enchant something that will shoot out low damage bolts at random so we can learn how to dodge em!", wow she was in a really different inventory [16:14] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): mood!
[16:19] Cynric folds his hands together, giving a nod. “It is good to see that you were at last able to fix that and get it taken care of. I was just about to say that I know some things are slow, but progress that slow is not of no progress at all!” He shakes his head, “Ah hmm… so like a bag… that you can beat up, dominate, manipulate, and all around make it your bitch? That sounds like a good idea and a fun way to practice without constantly beating up poor Bradock! Though don’t you go getting more bruises than your pretty flesh needs.” He laughs, “Sounds like you are placing a fun thing… with a potentially dangerous thing. Maybe better to learn that way.”
[16:24] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) laughs "Oh precisely!", she nods, heaving the rope up her shoulder and grunting as she prepared to drag it yet again waving a hand dismissively "Oh what is a few bruises.. Nothing a few soothing herbs cannot handle for the skin eh? Well let me go get to this.. I'll rope in some of the warden to help tie this up to a tree...", she smiles and nods as she makes her way ahead.
[16:26] Cynric still seemed a bit perplexed by the ‘bag’ she was totting around, though understood the basic concept- but it appeared to be a new thing to him, something he had not seen used in practice. His gaze shifting towards the Keep, clearly interested enough to follow in after her to see what becomes of it. But in the end he just shakes his head, “I will have to come see you practice some time, or try it out myself.” Before he just stands by as she heads on in- soon to disappear off into the woods himself.
[16:27] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) calls out "Oh you will see.. it will be a sure hit!", she grins and waves with her free hand before heading in completely.
[16:33] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) walks into the Keep, explaining the concept of the 'Punching Bag' , to the sentinel at the gates who seemed to really think she was crazy. Ella shrugs and goes on ahead, calling out to Randy who was always helpful. "Oi Randy help me tie this up the tree will ya?", she calls out, and the male just gives her a perplexed look to which she responds, patiently explaining once more and also getting ready to lob the rope over a low tree branch and test the strength of the knots. Randy as usual helps.. perhaps seeing the potential use of such a thing in training himself as well in some point in time! Ella lets go of the bag once half the rope was up and she disarms herself, placing the polearm against the tree before tying her boots up tighter and slowly testing the strength of each place she kept her foot at while climbing up the tree to tie up the bag while Randy held it up at a right height.
[16:49] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) wraps the corded rope around the tree branch twice then thrice looping it tightly in neat knots as she stood balanced on a sturdy branch. Grunting as she gave it one final satisfied tug, she calls out "DONE!", and Randy lets go of the bag, an it swings left and right like a pendulum and Ella beams "THATS the stuff", jumping off of the tree branch to land on her feet and she jogs up to the now suspended punching bag and waves away a few who had gathered to look at it with interest "Move move... let me try this", she steps back, crouching as if the bag was her worst enemy but she had such a goofy grin on her face! Bringing her fist close to her face, she grunts and takes a swing at the bag, and the bag moves back, swinging way behind an JUST as fast swings back forward! "Wooa!", she calls out and ducks JUST narrowly missing the bag coming crashing into her face. Still bent as the bag swung of its momentum and slowly stilled, she finally rises. "SEE! This is going to help train reflexes... AND strength... [16:49] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): you punch it.. it punches you back... many times! And you have to duck!", she explains to all before stepping back and readying herself for more training. Hell yeah.
[17.00] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) | A few initiates had begun to gather. Watching Ella as she tried to grasp the rhythm of the pendulum like heavy swaying motion of the bag. One of them calls out to her as she aims to take a right swing at the bag, trying to be nimble on her feet "Huh?", she makes the mistake of turning, only for the bag to come crashing into her shoulder where she wa sturned. "Ooof", she falls to the ground on her other shoulder, taken off guard as the bag hits her and makes her fall to the ground. "UGH YOU BAG", she grunts and hurriedly rises. All angered now as she hits and kicks the bag, weaving and swaying, trying to avoid its blows all the while. Slowly, her eyes get accustomed to the movement, her ears get more sensitive to identify the whooshes against the wind, and any sign of oncoming attack. Confident that she had trained enough, after about an hour, Ella pauses and turns to look at the initiates around, "There. that... is how it is done", she mutters and plops to the floor, as they all move slowly to take their turn on the bag.

Obtaining the scroll for the spell. [17:19] The Auguriis Magic and Oddities Shop: As you walk into the Auguriis, you are hit with an estrangement of different scents that are spread across the store; multiple herbs and magical ingredients, the occasional love potion, old books and scrolls, leather. An overly energetic and perky blonde haired male, Damien, is currently attending the store. Organizing and cleaning to his hearts content! Those with a magical ability will be able to sense that this store has been warded against thieves. [Any and all attempts to damage or steal from this property should be directed to the owner or an Admin.]
[17:22] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) heads to the Magic Store, it was indeed a better place to go in search of spell scrolls than the library, which she had heard that it had come under some vandalism. Ella walks up to the place, gingerly pushing open the door as she steps into a place that could only be described as.. magical. "Uh... ", she takes a deep breathe, the myriad scents just hitting her nose like she was punched to the face. "Wow...", she lets out a low breathe and clears her throat, addressing the blonde male "Ahem... Excuse me... Where do I find spell scrolls?", she asks, looking around the place as well, such colors in the vials.. such sparkles in the lights... a bit mesmerized, she just takes her time to look around the place.
[17:25] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) had heard the door open behind her, the little 'bell' chime sounding in her head as she spun on her toes and padded her way towards the door. Damien'd glance up from his dusting and dash the woman a beaming smile "Well hello there! You bet we do, what kind of scr-... oh hi Meri! This lady's wantin' a scroll... didn't get to askin' yet what sort..." Meri'd roll her eys at Damien and dash Ella a smile "Certainly, what were you looking for? I have all sorts..." padding around the counter and back towards the case on the wall as she listened.
[17:29] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) turns around, as the door opens behind her and Meri walks in, she recognizes the woman though never properly introduced. Ella smiles at her and Damien, "Well hello! I wished to try my hand at some translocation magic... Levitation specifically... I did want to get a scroll first so I know how I go about learning it... on the other hand.. if there were someone here who would know of the spell? Would it be possible to perhaps persuade them to offer instruction for a fee? .. You see I am schooled in the arcane, but I have no experience in that particular facet of magic..."
[17:38] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) dashed a bright smile over and chuckled warmly "Hello again... and yes - I do happen to have that..." She'd break off for a moment, that soft hum on her breath as she flicked her eyes towards the scrollcase... fingers tracing over the ends til one glowed at her proximity. Lifting up on her toes, then glancing over and muttering at the much taller Damien under her breath, she'd hop up and finally snort not quite able to reach it... though it'd suddenly lurch as if pushed from the back and fall right into her waiting grip as the humming stopped. "There we go! " Meri'd turn on her toes, the soft rustling about her as she made her way over to the counter and nodded again "You happen to be in luck, that is one of the spells I'm rather adept at, and I can certainly give you lessons as well, as what you'll learn from this..." Meri'd wiggle the scroll a bit and settle it to the counter.
[17:42] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) watches as Meri tries to reach for the spell scroll and she smiles when it is brought to her. "Oh many thanks", a hand reaches for one of the pockets on her belt from which she pulls out a coinpurse, "How much do I owe you for that?", and as Meri explains she -does- know the spell, Ella's eyes widen. "Oh that is quite the providence in my favor. I'd be much grateful if you would take the time to teach me the basics of that spell... tis.. quite useful you see.. of what I hear of it... but of course you know of its usefulness... ", she chuckles and shakes her head "Well if you will let me know when I can learn such from you and over what time... I can plan accordingly... Oh and where are my manners... Ella is what I'm called as", she places a palm to her chest and slightly tips her head in a bow of introduction.
[17:54] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) nodded and smiled warmly in exchange "Meri, a pleasure to meet you finally. And I'd be glad to give lessons, it's one of our main focuses... Thescroll itself is a silver.. and the lesson, a silver as well." Her expression didn't change a whit, still warm, and dipping her chin in respect back added, "I'm usually about quite a bit actually, so you're more than welcome to just pop in or send off a messenger to see if the timing suits. Damien's always here..." a hand motioning back to the blond though Meri'd miss the doe-eyed look he was giving Ella til he realized the attention had turned to him. His throat clearing quickly and loudly enough that Meri'd look back and raise a brow at the sound. "Frog got your throat there?" thne shook her head and glanced back to Ella "Anyway as I was saying, Damien's about if I'm not, he knows how to get a hold of me if I'm needed."
[18:02] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) pulls out one silver, from her purse, it was good that she had been promoted and was at least able to make more than just thirty forty copper a week! Ella places the coin on the counter and nods warmly at Meri's response, flashing a charming smile at Damien as well, oblivious to any doe eyedness, she affirms "Aye, that sounds about wonderful... I should read this in a matter of a day or two... and once I'm done grasping the theory, I will come seek you out to get the hang of it practically...", she smiles "Tis best I start with small things like a feather or something no? Wouldn't want to drop things and break them!", she chuckles softly and then adds "A silver for each lesson?", she asks to confirm and then nods "Not that I will be haggling but I just wish to have it ready when I come see you next... I shall make sure to find you either directly... or through Damien, as definitely instructed learning is far better than trial and error!"
[18:08] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) would agree with that wholeheartedly, a resolute dip of her head and that soft chuckle on her breath. The faintly melodious tones replying "Indeed and yes, thank you, you have the right of it... It's far easier to start out with something light for that and on the off-chance it should fall, your own health and well-being is important too, nothing like lifting a piece of armor per se, or your weapon there, and have it slip, point down..." that - would not be good on a foot or the like, for sure. "I look forward to seeing you then, Ella, please do be safe."
[18:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods at Meri as she rolls up the scroll and tucks it in neatly among the many she had in her belt. "Aye... But at least.. the next time someone breaks a table in two, I can at least save the food on top of it!", she smirks and then waves and bows in departure, "Well I will be off then.. many thanks! And oh.. quite the lovely shop you have in here Meri... Hope it prospers well!", she would add and then make towards the door, opening it as she steps out into the crisp evening air.
[18:14] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) couldn't help the merry burst of laughter though she'd snort as well, her head shaking as she remembered the instance all too well "Without a doubt... and thank you, kind of you to say so, should you need anything else in the meantime, please do be sure to let me know!" She'd wave as Ella headed out then let her fingers slip to pluck up the coin and slide it into her lockbox as she disappeared into the evening.

How to catch a fox. - RP can count towards last one required for Reflex trait advancement. [18:27] Bradock (Katarr) darts through the lush green forests ash e chases after the auburn coated fox. The little guy was small, quick and agile as a fox should be. So catching the rascal, proved tremendously difficult, especially when Bradock was held down by large weapons and a bruise along his side. As they reach the carnage found last night, Loki would perfectly avoid the area by slipping and dashing around it. "Hey, wait up!" Bradock calls in vain to the canine companion. Instead, the creatures darts up a small hill and jumps onto a branch with the grace of his kind. Rushing along the branch he eventually reaches the end and leaps with all of his might. "Loki no!" Bradock yells, only to turn the corner of the small hill in time to see and hear the splash of water as the fox dives into the cool pond of the clearing. "Oh... phew." He emits rather out of breath from the chase.
[18:32] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) smacks her palm on her forehead all the while as she follows Bradock and her lovable yet pain in the ass fox companion. "Cut it out Loki! Stop. Right. NAAOOO", she calls out as she dashes through the forest, actually she should be much faster than Brad owing to her size but Ella too was burdened with her own armor and weapon and the trio must surely have made noises as they ran trough the woods. She too turns around the small bouldery hillock and catches a breathe as the fox jumps into the water, causing a sizeable splash and ripples in the pristine pond. Ella laughs as she bends, hands on her knees as she looks up and shakes her head "That... fox...", she then straightens up and looks around, "Oh how beautiful!", distracted a minute as Loki thrashes about in the water still un-caught.
[18:36] Bradock (Katarr) leans along the side of the hill, reaching out and resting a hand along it as he holds his weight against it. His chest and stomach rapidly rising and falling as he catches his breath. A minute or two later, he leans away from the structure and walks towards the edge. "That fox of yours will be the death of us both." These words are spoken with a grin shot towards Ella. His yes then fall back onto the fox as he thrashes about. "All dogs can swim right?" Without another word, Bradock began quickly unbuckling the two swords he had with him, the longsword first, then the one at his hip. Next, his shoulders would be removed as he wades into the water, going deeper and deeper so that he could reach the thrashing fox. "Okay, okay, relax." The words come as he nears Loki. "You're going to smell like wet dog now."
[18:42] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods and laughs softly "Considering I found him in these woods, it probably is actually home to him and I am sure he can swim... well enough to escape us.", she smirks and follows suit, unbuckling the belt at her chest that held the scythe behind her secure and leans it near his sword before braiding her hair and tossing all of it behind her so as to -try- not to get all wet as she wades to the opposite side, hoping to trap the fox from the other direction. "YOU spoil him. Seriously!", she huffs at Bradock and chuckles "Well then he won't smell much different from you! I swear, these days, my nose thinks that smell is normal!", she rolls her eyes and then focuses on the fox, gently shushing it as well "Shhh... come to Ella now...", to which the fox does a quick look toss from Bradock to Ella then once more.. like he were sizing his options and almost with a naughty smirk and a wag of his tail the animal darts in an entirely different direction.. straight towards a crack in the rocks under the waterfall.
[18:48] Bradock (Katarr) | As Braodck wades through the water, the liquid soaks along his pants, soaking them all the way up to his knee. His journey towards the fox was slow because of the high water as well. "YOU spoil him!" This was untrue, and he knew it. Just as he wa about to come near the fox to scoop him up, the dastardly little things flees off in an opposite direction and towards a rock by the waterfall. "No, get him ,get him, get him!" Bradock calls out in vain while still slowly wading through the water that was at a snail's pace compared to the Foxes dog paddling to reach his destination. "Hmph." He suddenly stops and turns to glance back towards the Aasimar behind him. "You smell EXACTLY the same as I do I'll let you know!"
[18:56] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's eyes were on the red fox. And she just blinks as the animal seems to effortlessly escape Bradock's attempt to grab it. She narrows her eyes in concentration and squeals as Bradock yells out and she splish splashes as she runs through the water, just watching for the SMALL moment where Loki stood still and with a grunt she lunges forward, only for the animal to once more run off and leave her falling into the water and she gasps, putting out her palms to break her fall as she falls face first into the water, as in, with her palms bracing in the rocky bed under the not so deep water, and all of her front body drenched as she snarls and rises, splashing the water in an angered hit on its surface "DARN that fox", she then wipes away the water from her face and wades further in the direction that Loki went, by the tree near the waterfall. "WELL go around and trap him!!!", she calls out to Bradock as she now, VERY slowly moves.
[19:04] Bradock (Katarr) turning to face Ella, he happened to do so JUST in time for him to witness Ella make a lunge for the fox, a lunge that -completely- misses the fox and sends his wife into a face plant into the water beneath them. Oh how he tried, how he truly tried to hold back that laugh. But eventually, a grin would smear across his features. A grin that begins to crack in itself and turn into a laugh. A laugh that forces him to cling to his own stomach and just laugh and laugh and laugh. "Hey! At least you look good when you're all wet!" He calls back to her with a playful wink. Regardless, he seemed wise enough to not question the woman or press the issue further by second guessing her tactics to catching the fox. He would wade through the water through the other wide, slowly wading through the water on the other side for the flank.
[19:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) was wet, and annoyed, and really not in the mood to be laughed at but she -knew- it was inevitable and despite all her self control, bends and picks up a small (very small not at all harm causing) flat rock and throws it all of a sudden in Bradock's direction before then just completely focusing on Loki and with a death glare. The glare could really kill. She speaks to the animal "STOP. RIGHT. NOW.", and well Loki was after all her companion and he stills, for a second, tail tucked in between his legs and looks at her straight before, shaking his head, but does not move. The water droplets from his fur falling all over the place. Ella would then try to move sloowly towards the animal all the while muttering disciplining words to him. She then looks up to see what Bradock was doing, pebble-hit and all.
[19:11] Storyweaver rolls R6 (CC:be33): 128, Chuck pebble at Bradock
[19:12] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:be34): 68, Reflex
[19:20] Bradock (Katarr) slowly begins to wade along the water, attention focused on Loki as he creeps upon the creature from the other side, leaving the poor little guy no alternative escape routes. Just as he was closing in on the fox though, he misses the small pebble that was being flung towards him. And instead, it hits him square on the side. "Ow..." While he rubs the side of his head, a sudden idea crosses his mind. The colored hues of his eyes roll back within his skull and Bradock, without warning, begins to topple backwards, as if unconscious. With a large splash and a wave that shoots out in all directions, uncluding the direction of Ella and Loki, Bradock emerges from the small pool of water to simply float there... motionless.
[19:29] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) was looking at her fox and very steadfastly, she moves ahead to just wiggle her finger at him and give him a nice set of chosen reprimands before just bending and tucking him under her arm, wet from head to toe the both of them and she turns around and only in time to see the pebble hit his head and Bradock falling into the water, the sound eerie as it splashes all over the place. Ella is struck dumb. And she just... drops Loki. Heart in her mouth as she sees Bradock float in the water lifeless. "Nooo", she calls out but no sound emerges from her mouth as she does not stop to think if it was -really- possible. What if she had picked up a bigger rock in her anger?? She rushes ahead, splashing and wading as she reaches Bradock and roughly grabs him, "Brad!! BRAD!! NO! Don't.. Oh gods... BRAD!!", she calls out in desperation, trying to shake him as hard as she can. Panic starting to creep within the poor woman, the forgotten fox also comes running, now he was not that overcome by emotion! He coolly sniffs
[19:29] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): at Brads boots, as always.
[19:35] Bradock (Katarr) continues to simply float idly within the water, poor Loki dropped into the water as Ella rushes towards him. He pulled off the routine well, his eyelids half closed and rolled back so only the whites of his eyes were exposed. He had even held his breath all the while, pretending to not longer even draw breath. As Ella would reach for him, his clothes were drenched with water from having just splashed within it. Just as she begins to shake him, the lids of his eyes close and open, reveal his eyes along with the mischievous gleam within them. Lunging forward into Ella, he attempts to tackle the poor woman into the pond of water beneath them and wrestle her into a grapple.
[19:37] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:be36): 72, Strength (Grapple)
[19:38] Storyweaver rolls R5 (CC:be37): 44, SRSLY? The woman's SCARED STIFF! BAD BRADOCK! *sprays water*
[19:44] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's eyes were -steadily- focused on Bradock's face, the half open eyes, no sign of life in those missing silver orbs, and how still he lay without breathing. All giving the woman a sinking feeling in her stomach as she feels as if the world just was taken away from under her feet. Before she could see the eyes blink, Ella bends to place her ear on his chest, praying fervently for some life, only to be startled by a mean mean tackle as her feet give way and with a flabbergasted gasp, she falls within the water, eyes automatically closing as her arms flailed to grab onto his shoulders and coughing and spluttering she screeches out "YOU! THAT WAS MEAN!! UGH!! Leggooo!!", even forgetting the relief within her head that her husband was not -dead- or even knocked out. Cuz, lets face it, if Brad had to go, he would go in a much cooler fashion. Killed by a pebble. Was not exactly Bradock yanno.
[19:51] Bradock (Katarr) | You threw a GIANT rock at me!" An exaggeration no doubt, considering he the pebble had fallen into the water and -complete- disappeared with nothing but the smallest of ripples. At this point, Bradock and Ella would reemerge from the water with him behind her. His arms would be wrapped around the woman, both of them tucked beneath her underarms as he clings to her while he keeps them both kneeling in the water that was waist deep on their knees. "THAT was mean!" This was his entire claim for holding her. The ever eager to train Bradock would them shift one of his arms, in an attempt for the limb to wrap now around her neck in a snaking like fashion, all this while attempting to over power the woman by holding her still. "Say you're sorry and I'll let you go!"
[19:51] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:be38): 13, Strength (Pin)
[19:52] Storyweaver rolls R5 (CC:be39): 104, Ouch
[19:55] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) | "IT WAS A PEBBLE!", she exclaims, held in the water in her knees, sounding like Ross from friends with 'we were on a break!!', as she shakes her head, no silver curls bounced, as they were all wet, stuck to her head and he squeals as he 'threatens' her and perhaps he was just being nice to his wife, for his grip was super loose and Ella just firmly calls out "NO!", as she uses her own hands to try and pry away his hold around her neck and finds herself somewhat successful and instead just flips around trying to push all her own body weight onto HIM instead, trying to get him off balance and tackled into the water. "YOU say YOU are sorry for laughing at me!", she huffs, the fox just smirks, watching them squabble.
[19:56] Storyweaver rolls R5 (CC:be3a): 111, push back grapple
[19:57] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:be3b): 24, Strength
[20:03] Bradock (Katarr) | "No, it was a giant boulder!" He insists. His hold, intentionally or unintentionally, slips along Ella and he leans forward, falling onto his hand that sinks into the mud of the water. Water splashes into his face from his arm rapidly sinking into the water and hits his face, blinding him for a few seconds. Combine this with Ella moving behind him, and he was no use for her as she wraps her arms around him and wraps her arms around him. Quickly, he sits up and reaches for her forearm with both of his hands. "Hrrrrg!" His body even shakes from left to right to try and shake her off from him. "NO!" He calls out, unwilling to surrender. Slowly, one leg lifts from beneath him and sets the flat of his bare foot along the ground. Slowly, Bradock attempts to stand with Ella still clinging to him. And, if he was successful, he would flop over to one side, attempting to send him crashing into the water with Ella clinging to his back.
[20:03] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:be3c): 12, Strength (Breaking Free)
[20:05] Storyweaver rolls R5 (CC:be3d): 61, hold and prevent escape
[20:12] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) was even more adamant, the water and mud splashing all over BARELY bothering her as, well, they were already a mess anyway! Ella closes her eyes to prevent things going in them and she tightens her hold, preventing him efficiently from rising and escaping as she exclaims in glee "HA!", she tries to slide around forward, facing him as she tries to push him deeper and flatter within the water with her effectively on him and she tries to put her legs astride of his lower body. In an attempt to pin him down and smirks, staring down at him "Say. You. Are. Sorry. and that I am the MOST beautiful and the BEST wife ever", yup, such vanity.
[20:12] Storyweaver rolls R5 (CC:be3e): 83, pin!
[20:16] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:be3f): 62, Strength (Resist)
[20:23] Bradock (Katarr) was unable to fully stand, as Ella's leg wrapped around his lower limb, his knee would give out as it is encumbered by Ella, sending him tumbling back onto one knee in a splash of water. "Hrrrg." He groans as he finds himself successfully being pinned by his wife. "Noooo!" He thrashes about, similar to how a child might. Or, at least he attempts to thrash about, he had little success except for slightly rocking back and forth against her. "I will say..." He grumbles a bit. "You are the most beautiful and best wife ever... but I will not apologize. Because it was hilarious!"
[20:39] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) laughs evilly as he thrashes about in the water and nods, seemingly satisfied as she relaxes her hold and lets down her guard and shrugs before leaning forward and just laying flat on him before tipping her head to reach for his lips to claim in a kiss. She then laughs herself "Well it was. Funny. I admit. as how funny it is NOW to see you trapped like this!", and she throws back her head and laughs in abandon.
[20:44] Bradock (Katarr) closes his eyes to accept the kiss from Ella as she leans over. He would then, slowly begins to sit up, drenched and covered in mud at this point. "Ha. Ha." He mirrors her laugh, dry and humorlessly. Regardless, as he sets up, his arms reach to wrap around the exposed abdomen of Ella's waist and lean in to the woman with a tilted head so that his lips could taste her own.
[20:51] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) laughs so hard, she had tears flowing down the sides of her cheeks. Well it was funny. Small Ella easily pinning down... Bradock. It then dawns on her that he perhaps went -too- easy on her and she takes a breath to relax, smiling at him as she makes a face at his laugh. Though when he moves closer, muddy and wet, she closes her eyes leaning forward to wrap her hands around his neck as her lips meet his eagerly. Forgetting that they were in the middle of the forest, unarmed. She just surrenders to the kiss, her lips teasing his, the plump softness of them a pleasantly surprising contrast to the rest of him.
[20:57] Bradock (Katarr) keeps his arms firmly wrapped around Ella's waist as his head tilts so that their lips could continuously brush against her own. Eventually though, Bradock would break their kiss, if anything to catch his breath. A hand from around her waist raises in an attempt to push her head down and tuck the side of her face into his neck so that he could hold her. "You know... Loki has technically remained uncaught." He briefly glances over his shoulder towards the troublesome and energetic fox to check on the creature.
[21:02] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) opens her eyes as the warmth of the kiss is lost, a bit disgruntled and disoriented, she wraps her arms around his waist, happy where she was tucked and held and blinks, as she reluctantly moves her head just a bit to look at the fox, that was now happily napping under the tree. She smirks "See... he's asleep. Like he were the nicest and most obedient little fox in the verse. How typical...", she rolls her eyes and leans back with a sigh, for then just content to sit in the muddy water snuggled up with him.
(( we both were like extra tired during this and stuff but it was a diced fight! ))

Trying to learn a spell... at a carnival. - RP can count towards spell learning - Levitation [16:34] Banf looked at the booth, looked at the woman, looked at the booth. She stood straight, placed her hands on her hips and drew herself up. She was a tall one at that. "I do not care how pretty a blue sign that is. If my arthair, Ri of the hollow hills, cannot get me to embrace a suitor, Ii am NEVER going to kiss a ... a ... small house. Epecially one not even as big as a hovel, curiosity shop, manor or keep!." She shook her head and then nodded. "I'd get splinters.' She then, however, took a few steps closer to whisper conspiratorially, "But I am am very intrigued on how you were able to enchant this small house to kiss! That must be some absolutely wonderful manner of ensorclement!"
[16:35] Eala Du twists at the waist as a voice sounds above others, the fae does not read but she looks downwards as a lady in a booth points to a sign outside her hut. She looks back to Crystiel with confusion at the notion of caged lips, before nodding her head slightly with her companion's answer. "Ah the invites...I have not received one as yes. You wish for agreement from the fae to take a place of power?" She smiled and glanced to the ring, the smile wavered then faded away. "Fire..." she ignored the offense of slaughter and her eyes became flames, "The trees and the earth more our business than the demise of other kinds flesh...so the ashes of trees...by the hand of - you do not know?.." she frowns deeper than before. "yet I sensed enchantment..." a murmur of thought spoken aloud. More bodies clustered about the cake stall and Eala said in whisper of wind that would travel to Crystiel, and hopefully be caught, "Perhaps a call to the fae...for this is not the place, too many - others." her eyes shifted left to r
[16:35] Eala Du and then blinked as she spied a lute idling on the ground.
[16:36] Eala Du (CottonSwan): left to right*
[16:37] Valkyrie Asta Munthe ::: The carnival was underway despite the rain that had fallen earlier. Hopefully that wouldn't dampen the patrons' visit. It seemed a young couple, a male tall and muscular with hair as golden as the sun and a woman pale like porcelain with dark hair, was heading for the bobbing for apples bucket and knelt to their knees, though held hands as they dipped their faces into the water. The girl came up with one apple while the male came up with none, but both laughed regardless and went back to bobbing. Small children continued to run around, and a child no older than five and pigtails with a freckled face came over to the cake stand. "I can has a cake, pwease?" she'd ask and smiled a toothy grin. Valkyrie watched and continued to listen, though the sight of two others that came down to Middle Aberwyth prompted her to wave over towards them. "Welcome!" she called out before casting glances back over to the slowly growing crowd.
[16:38] Chione (Bokystroki) blinks at the curious woman, before harking out a rather unlady-like laugh. "Enchantment - oh by the oceans naw! I dun deal in such shitey trivial things. I mean /me/ woman!" she pointed to herself, leaning out of the booth albeit desperately, "Though if splinters be ye fear, I promise no teeth will be used in this proposition!" she held her pinky up to make her point, winking at her.
[16:41] Crystiel Thistlebush nods and smiles, "yes, I know not who was responsible, I sent out a couple foxes, to track them by scent, but I havnt heard back from them yet...but yes...I'll bee setting up a Moot soon, we can talk about his later..I'll keep you updated and send notice when all is ready" she says and then leans against the booth and smiles
[16:41] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower) slowly made her way within the square, the sounds of bells following her muted heels rather ominously. As she took her seat within a purple booth, she eyed the crowd through her deer skull. A pair of mismatched blue and green eyes would scan the bodies around her, and give a rather dreadful feeling at those who dare stared back, as she began to shuffle her tarot cards with highly dexterous hands. To some, her presence was rather exciting - to most, it spelled misfortune....
[16:42] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) had the day off. Well she had just -taken- it. A bit uncomfortable in her very different attire, from the usual ones she wore. As always accompanied by her fox, Ella idly looks through the stalls as she passes them, smiling and just enjoying the nice atmosphere. No Naga, no craziness... "Aah... How nice!", she mutters to herself, smiling and nodding at all the faces she passed. Loki runs amok for a while among all the children and Ella shakes her head, idly watching the couple bobbing for apples and grins, her attention diverted by what looked and read to be a kissing booth with a pretty dark haired -kisser- inside. While she missed looking out for her fox, the little red haired animal promptly jumps into the tub of apples splashing -everyone- nearby and Ella squeals "Aiyiyiyiii... BAD fox!.. I;m so sorry!!", she apologizes to the couple and picks up the animal, wet all over. Sheesh. Nice.
[16:43] ~Anrisa~ lay sleeping in the grass near the side of a building, a snarl and bark slipping out whilst sleeping, apparently having nightmares (Those with keen hearing would notice)
[16:46] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) had heard about the event happening in Aberwyth today, since she didn't have much else to do she decided to go check it out. Tho she was clearly unsure of what this exactly was and for. Her eyes scanned the area, seeing who was around and noticing a few she knew. She took a few steps before making her way over to Chione's booth "been awhile since I saw you last" definitely had to play it up that she was not the Alpha who has seen her lately. Tho her head tilted as she heard a noise like a snarl and a bark "did you hear that?"
[16:47] Eala Du blinks down as a child requests cake, the fae leans over and plucks up a cake from the stall and passes it to the outreaching chubby fingers, the stall holder thankfully had not seen such as she had no coin to pay for the sticky treat. She watched the child cram cake and run off happily before nodding her head to Crystiel, "I will be waiting." she bowed her head, brief show of respect to the royal bright blood, then added, "Something should be done for the ashen trees." without waiting for answer she then side-stepped off to the lute she had spied and picked it up turning it in hand like a treasure found. Casually walking away from the spot it has been plucked, she strummed a little and smiled, a smile free from shadow.
[16:50] Banf simply gave the woman in the booth a look, a look and a gasp as she bounced upon her heels, "But I do not even know you! we have not been formally introduced, had out parents make their arrangements, provide chaperones ... but I do admit that is a primary reason I am no longer home, and then there's the first meal shared at samhain, the rade through the forest upon the morn's first light, you haven't even offered me a rose of the proper color! just for that For that i should infest you with mice! And being infestedwith mice is no way to begin a relationship, let along consider kissing! besides ..." She shook out her long hair, "if we were to do so th entire carnival would die of jealousy and that would just not do! There's no way we could hide so many bodies!"
[16:51] Valkyrie Asta Munthe ::: Parents would quickly pull their kids out of the way to avoid getting smacked into by the fox, though the little sticky hands tried reaching out to pet the creature, laughing and giggling the entire time. The couple that were bobbing for apples were not expecting the fox to jump into the tub. As they got splashed, they laughed and the male waved his hand dismissively. "That's quite alright! Would you like a turn? The apples are nice and crunchy!" Meanwhile Valk continued her watch, though her eyes lingered on the one that was talking to the vendor in the kissing booth. Interesting.
[16:54] Eala Du started to play songs remembered from the old land, sometimes she smiled, sometimes she sighed, mostly she smiled, her eyes burning brighter, embers aglow. She looked over to Crystiel and winked an eye even! Eala then took a short, dancing stroll towards the centre of the booths. Turning a dance as she played a fairie round.
[16:54] Chione (Bokystroki) sighs with a hurumph, leaning her head into her palm which caused her cheek to smoosh against itself, giving her the illusion of a bratty child rather than a fierce-some ex bounty hunter, though she kept her beaming grin plastered on firmly, a warm aura radiating off of her, as she murmured to the rather peculiar woman, "Who says yer folks gotta know?" her ears perked as she then turned her gaze to Sky, her lips parting to reveal a row of teeth so white, they could be a string of pearls. "Hail, maranwe! Long time no-" she stopped in mid sentence, her smile faltering as she examined the woman, "Wha' 'appened to ya? Ye look like shite."
[17:00] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) shakes her head, still reprimanding and trying to contain her fussy wet fox and apologizes profusely to the couple "No No.. please continue.. err.. Someone should fill the tub again for you I expect... I feel like I should put a leash on him...", she makes a mock threat at the fox and with a sheepish grin moves away, noticing the masked figure in the purple booth shuffling Tarot cards.. Ella's eyebrows rise and in passing hears the long haired one refuse a kiss without proper courting, she chuckles and moves towards the mysterious cloaked figure, eh why not. She clears her throat, the front of her clothes all wet and stuff, and walks into the Purple Booth "Ahem.. excuse me... How much for a reading?", she points to the cards stacked and being shuffled.
[17:01] ~Anrisa~ is stirred from her sleep by the sound of people, a snarl escaping her not having had the best luck with humans. remaining low in the grass, an aggresive stance taking over her form. Eyes of amber leaping from each of the two-legs nearest her warily
[17:02] Crystiel Thistlebush watches as Eala wanders away and picks up a lute and smiles as she sees her demeanor changing into a smile, she thinks to herself that music does wonders to make even a moontide happy.. then seeing the time she steps away from the food booth and makes her way to the mud pit, she had said she would participate in it, and wonders on who she will be up against. she knows she doesnt have a chance of winning, but she thought it would be fun....but there was a small chance, herr own naturre would see her through.
[17:06] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower): /mw the almost other-worldly figure stopped shuffling suddenly, her hands practically freezing in place as she slowly turned her head to stare at the woman, mismatched eyes studying her very closely as she raised three fingers up. "Three copper." she softly replied, her voice layered rather thick as her smile couldn't be obscured by the skull, hinting at something rather uneasy.
[17:06] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower): ((Me* lul))
[17:08] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) tilts her head at Chione "yes long time..." though as the woman asked about her arm she cringed, that was something she should of hid for Chione saw her arm as the Alpha. "Umm well you see... umm well" she stuttered her words but then she heard the snarl. Her eyes casting around the booth Chione was in, not even realizing it was a kissing booth! Staring at the unknown wolf she wanted to facepalm, this was not good on her trying to hide what she was. Damnit! She gave a glare, hardening it as her Alpha side really showing as she stared hard at the wolf trying to give the rogue a 'shift now or hide'.
[17:08] Eala Du turns and dances, eyes watching, ears listening as her fingers pluck lightly at strings, the memory of songs carried in her fingers. She pauses in her dance and follows the dainty form of Crystiel with her eyes, twisting neck to look over shoulder until the other fae comes to a stop. After watching her for a few moments, Eala returns her attentions to the gaiety about her, continuing to strum and hum softly.
[17:09] Banf looked to the booth woman with a theatrically sad expression. "Alas, one may be able to fool ones' arthair ... but mathair? they always find out. Especially mine." She too looked at the new comer, with a sniff and a tlt of her head, that and a quirked brow at the newcomers rusticness. she did however, have a true question.. "The Dagda's beard, is that lad over there with the broke neck lute trying to cast an spell upon us? He's putting me to sleep!"
[17:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) gave the woman a slightly dubious look, her instinct really hinting at something uneasy, but eh, she chooses to push it away, it was not wise to always be on edge, and she had wanted to cut loose. She shrugs, idly listening to the sounds of music from the lute as she stepped closer, pulling out her coin purse and places three copper coins on the table, A tad wet from holding the fox but she looks back to the chair and just sits, placing the squirming animal on her lap. "Alright... What do the cards say for me?", she asks the masked figure, curiously looking at the cards.
[17:11] ~Anrisa~ senses the woman nearbys thoughts. biut how could she? Who was this woman? The sense overtaking her in an instant, slowly backing up to hide behind the building and perhaps run off to find a new hiding place. this woman..Why could she speak to me?
[17:12] Banf peers, "Oh. lassie. that should say somethin' but it would not be polite to say what!"
[17:12] Eala Du (CottonSwan) takes to singing (uh..singing..like a choir boy! O.O)) a song of love and sorrow, and so with the song she bids tears and so they come and fall. The mists swirl at her feet, slowly, sadly but soon turning to merry flurry as the fae tears dry as quick as they came and another tune takes the stead of the last.
[17:15] Chione (Bokystroki) listens to the fae firstly, shivering at the thought of musical magic, "Hope nae - by the sands of Athas....." following Sky's gaze, she pursed her lips, "Somethin' the matter?"
[17:17] Eala Du seems to drift away with the music a while, sometimes, she sings, other times, only tune of lute. Her gaze distant, seeing to elsewhere.
[17:22] Banf leans her head upon the side of the booth, letting out a low breath. "I this a festival or a funeral?" And then even quieter "And if you try kissing me, booth, I WILL infest you with mice."
[17:23] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) slipped through the clusters of islanders who'd come to spend time at the carnival. A bob of a head here, and dip of the chin there, Cedar wasn't really paying mind to who she passed. To be honest, she was worried there'd be enough liquor to last the day and thought perhaps, seeing as she hadn't yet recieved a new delivery of goods, she should be the one to work the stand. Never could tell if the help would hand out free drinks to their friends. So when she finally reached the Applebottom's stall, she shooed the maid from the confines and took up spot herself. "Stiff drinks! Come an' get yer mouth's wet!" she hollared. "Dint like tha taste left in yer gullet from yon kissin' booth? Applebottom's got tha cure!" Sorry Chione, it's business, eh? Cedar cast the trap-shopstress an apologetically mischievious grin and kept on. "Come on ower an' try yer luck! Lady Luck's on tha menu this eve, eh?"
[17:25] Banf looked across the row of stalls at that, eyes wide and startled. "It *IS* a funeral! You have my great-great-great-aunt on me arthair's side on the docket!"
[17:27] Chione (Bokystroki) pulled her head back from the fae, suddenly having a visual of mice scurring around on her tonsils, which was rather awful - yet it also make her stomach rumble. "Noted." she stated to the woman, before a particular voice caught her attention. She was about to say hello to Cedar until her sells pitch caught her loud ears, causing Chione to practically fume! "OI!" her eyebrows shot up as she waved her hand to get Cedar's attention, "I'll have you know I can make plenty o'women and men just a sloppy and moist as yer saggy bottom!"
[17:28] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) shook her head at Chione "no not at all" muttering softly as she rubbed her limp arm sighing softly "So what is exactly that you are doing. I do not understand this event at all." She then looked between Cedar then Chione "Sloppy and moist what... that sounds digusting."
[17:31] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower) began to shuffle the cards swiftly, slashing through the deck with purple smoke and making them disappear before reappearing and spreading them out like a fan. "Choose four..." she murmured lowly, "I'll tell your future in one simple phrase, in which I cannot reveal to much, but yet'll be all the same." the womans mismatched eyes stared at the fox owner, unblinking as she waited patiently.
[17:34] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) 's eyes widened the smallest bit for the rebuttal that Chione gave. That was alright though, for also made the mischief broaden in her grin and Cedar shrugged, grabbing up a mug and filling it to the brim. "My arse is in no need fer reprisal," she lilted. Then Cedar turned and sauntered back behind the stalls, striding over to the kissing booth. ";Ere ye are lass. On tha house." Cedar smiled, then turned her attention to the other two. "Can I no' interest either o' ye bonnie lasses in a drink ta wet yer throats?"
[17:34] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) quirks a brow, already regretting the three copper spent. She sighs, oh well.... The fox now was all over the table, messing up some cards and things, making the tablecloth wet, generally making a nuisance of itself. Ella dusts off some droplets from her hands before just nodding at the Tarot lady and looks at the cards, pointing at the second, third, fifth and seventh card held out in that fan like formation. "Alriigghht", she mutters and leans back on the chair.. to hear this.. amazing simple phrase.
[17:34] Eala Du spies a colourfully dressed (NPC) fellow looking about the floor where the lute had lay, he threw his hands to his head aghast and then scratched his left temple with a forefinger. Suddenly his head tilted catching the tune that drifted and he looked sharply in Eala's direction. She met his stare as he began to march angrily towards her, but before he was within a foot of her she smiled darkly and blew a flurry of red, fine dust into his face. The human male stopped in his tracks, spluttered and then anger turned to soppy grin before he dissolved into fair unmanly giggles, all the while applauding her performance, often missing palms in some drunken manner. Eala watched him, letting out low laugh before stopping short and deciding upon mournful song, hearing mention of a funeral somewhere in the crowd.
[17:42] Zeekial rolls R4 (CC:be8e): 138, What will your future bring...
[17:43] Ella Moraeu rolls R3 (CC:be8f): 44, Noooo idea (Knowledge roll)
[17:44] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower) nudged the fox away as she wiped the dirt and grim off the table, swiftly flipped the first card over, analyzing it thoroughly before flipping the next, and the next, before laying down the last and final card
flat with a audible little snap. "Ahhhhh...." she cooed, before grinning up at the woman, "Hope is within you. Impatience fills your naive mind. Strife and Victory!" though as she then examined the last card, she shook her head,
"Day dreams fill your mind with silly childish fantasies. You soon will have to make an adult choice - that will determine if you can move forward for glory, or take two steps back for those you love." with that, the fortune teller
signalled that she was finished, collecting the cards and coin as she began to shuffle once more.
[17:46] Banf took three steps, three steps out of the patch of wild flowers, the promise of a fanciful repast having of course attracted her attention. but at th third, the magical number, of course, stp she just ground to a halt. Another mournful song? What manner of festival is this? A festival of doom? A festival of grief. A festival of put the ladies to sleep to have their way with them? Sh looked to Chione suspiciously then shook her head. Spinning on one heel her gaze focusd upon the lute bearer. "Enough! This is music the Finn would put you in the grogpot for! Come to me, my fiercesome horde!" And yes, her horde arived, rippling through the grass, sifting through the wildflowers. mice! With acorn hats. And leaf bonnets! Fine. So it wasn't the fiercest hordes in the world. She sung out words clear and serene ...
[17:48] Chione (Bokystroki) takes the mug as she eyed Cedar suspiciously, before taking a little sip. The half-elf paused a moment, taking in the flavor before licking her lips and sighing happily. Looks like her stomach wont growl so much after all! "Now tha's more like it!" tilting her head at Skyrah, she shook her head, "Are innuendos gettin' sloppy?" eying the army of mice and rats she then shrieked, propping her butt up on her little booth and moving her feet out of the way like some young and girlish lassie, holding her mug not to spill like a champ.
[17:48] Banf sung out, "There once was a minstrel whose songs ... were always too mournful and long ... and handful of mice ... now that would be nice ... to happily right what is wrong!" Sighing hercommand , the mice as one nodded, charged and jumped into the songbox of the minstrel's lute! One leaped! Such a leap! To keep watch from the pegboard!
[17:49] Banf: me looked quite satisfied with hernaturalistic cantrip! "Fin. I admit the lyrics were a bit weak, rhyming a plural with a singular and all.
[17:51] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) listens to the Tarot reader speak, well it was highly unlikely she would remember the exact words, but she nods as she gets the gist, at least she thinks she does! "uuh uh.. Alright!", she shrugs, giving a grin in return to the reading and rises from the chair, grabbing her fox as well. That was three copper, she would never see again. "well Thank you! I'll be sure to... take two steps every time I dream.. or something", Now.. what next... she looks around idly. Damn it was days like this she wished she drank, noticing Cedar and the tavern booth as well.
[17:51] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower) nodded as she awaited her next vict-er...customer.
[17:51] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): (( lul ))
[17:52] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) smiled serenely once the mug was taken from her hand and turned, with a wave of her arm towards Sky and any others who looked her way - beckoning them to her booth of drinks. "Stiff drinks!" she called out making her voice as loud as she could. "Come an' get yer arse lit. No one likes a guid time like tha one in their cups! An' Lady Luck is on tha menu tonigh'!"
[17:54] ~Anrisa~ whimpers as her form begins to distort, once wolf was now a human form, 18 years of age from the looks. A redheaded short female, a suspicious air about her as she leaves behind building, away from crowd, eyes glowing amber. trying to act nonchalant
[17:54] Valkyrie Asta Munthe seemed to be lost in a slight trance while she was listening to Banf playing the instrument, but snapped back to reality just in time to hear someone shriek and spotted all the mice that came scurrying out of the grass. Where as she might have freaked out...she was amused by the little hats upon their heads, and found herself laughing at the sight. "How charming," she'd say, then started making her way down the cobblestone street. She was a bit relieved now to see that the carnival was picking up, and seeing the newcomers, she'd smile. "Welcome all that have just arrived!" she'd call out, and a jester nearby would pop up beside her to say his peace. "Don't be shy, try out the games that have been placed about. Dare you try the knife throwing wheel? Or do you wish to get down and dirty, maybe be flirty, within the pile of mud?" The Jester cackled and ran down the street over to Cailean and waved his stick of fancy in the man's face.
[17:54] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) tilted her head and just well was not sure! "Uhh I am not sure if I should drink Cedar... I don't hold my drink well." Then she looked to Chione as she started to freak out from the well small little mice "do they actually scare you? and what do you mean innuendos" the poor naive wolf. Though at the mention of tarot she tilts her head "ill be over there in a minute" she says to the woman before her attention is back to Cedar and Chione.
[17:55] Second Life: Items successfully shared.
[17:57] Chione (Bokystroki) took a third sip from her frothy brew, now turning to sky with a grunt, "'Ave you ever seen what a rat can do on a ship? Ye'd be scared too!" she continued to stay propped on her booth then, rather comfortable and it was nice to be able to almost equal Sky's height for once! With that thought, Chione grinned rather slyly, pointing at her sign, "So whaddya say? A kiss to make yer arm feel better?"
[17:58] Sheonna DuCairne rolls Dice (CC:be9a): 43, The drink?
[17:58] Eala Du pointed a toe and tapped it slightly, smiling down at the lute player who had taken to sit on the floor and release occasional chuckles into the air. She dandied fingers lazily on the strings and glanced over to the stall that held bottles of some such, she wondered if it held any of the brew that Dasiuke had offered her once. She sniffed at the air, trying to sense such, eyes flitting as she heard a shout of 'enough!' Of course the Fae would not even entertain such directed at her. A moment later...her notes bumped and thumped, rattled and..squeaked! Eala stopped playing and turned the instrument in hand, puzzlement and disbelief written on her features. 'Squeak!' a mouse sang and twanged a string near her ear. Eala spied the mouse staring at her from the tuning pegs and she blinked back, then gave one sharp flick and mouse took to air, before being caught by tail in the delicate fae fingers. She raised it and stared..before knock, bang squeak, echoed from inside the lute.
[17:59] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst): Decidedly, the Isle needed more men. Cailean headed into the carnival remarking to himself quietly that there was hardly a man to be seen -- and didn't that make Valesk a paradise? Ah, if only he were young again, strapping, and with all the adolescent juices flowing through his veins to take advantage of the luck. Youth was wasted on youth though, alas, so old man Cailean had been about to head on over to the drinking booth and say hello to his lady love when a jester popped up in his face. Considering he was no longer the Captain of the guard anymore, he saw no reason not to take advantage of the situation and kick the bastard in the shins.
[17:59] Cailean rolls R8 (CC:be9b): 17, get shin-fucked, jester.
[18:02] Valkyrie Asta Munthe rolls Dice (CC:be9c): 63, hopefully dodging the shin fucking
[18:02] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) was grabbing another mug even though no one was walking up to purchase a drink. Yet she turned, eyes skimming over the crowd, and began to fill it to the brim. "Come on ower!" the small fae called out. "Dint be shy! Wha's better'n a drink when yer havin' fun, aye?" The mug filled, Cedar leaned into the counter and waved it to and fro like a beacon to the crowd. "Come an' try yer luck - Lady Lulck's 'ere tonigh'!"
[18:03] Banf satisfied with her charges valiant duty, she turned, turned to look back to the kissing booth, focused on Chione, both shocked and appalled! Fine. Theatrically shocked and appalled. "I shall have you know they were a present from me arthair to me mathair upon their first anniversary! Mice! Mice every single one1 There is nary a rat or ferret or badger among them!" She nodded, once. "That is right." She held her words for a perfect beat. "They are the Queen's Mouseketeers!"
[18:05] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's stupid fox wouldn't stop squirming and se Ella just.. gives up, dropping the animal to the ground and after giving the whole place a nice look, deciding that it was best she not spend any more coin. She chooses to sit down on a nice patch of grass, after passing the cake stall to buy a small sponge cake. She pulls out a scroll, leaning on the side of a nearby building against whose wall she sat her ass down, nibbling on it as she just read muttering to herself.. "Hmm.. lets see now."
[18:05] Valkyrie Asta Munthe ::: The Jester continued taunting Cailean, jumping all around the man and jingling his shoes in his living space. He'd stick out his tongue and snort. Though as Cailean aimed a foot back and tried to kick the Jester in the shin, the limber man did a backflip to dodge out of the way. "Oh man of hair with gold who's growing old, your aim was quite a miss. But do not fret cause I will bet that you cannot touch this," the jester sang and danced about.
[18:05] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) looked to Chione pondering for a moment "um well Ive never.. I mean... oi" she then looked over to Cedar, she should probably support or packmates business. "One moment Chione" she then walked over to Cedars stall. "I guess I will try one... but only one" she wagged her finger before taking some coppers out of her coin pouch "how much does one cost?"
[18:08] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) smiled wide and set the full mug atop the counter, shoving it Sky's way. "Why ..." she drawled, for she was currently deciding what to charge, what with supplies being low and all. "9 copper, aye?" Cedar gave a short nod and held out her hand palm up for the coins. "Luck dint come cheap!"
[18:09] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst): "That doesn't even fucking rhyme!" Cailean roared at the jester, who'd decided to take it upon himself to be the first casualty of Aberwyth's carnival. He cursed under his breath and growled. If only he'd gotten to Cedar's booth first and gotten sloshed so that he'd have an excuse to run the bastard through a couple dozen times with his sword. Wait, fuck that, he didn't need to get sloshed to ream a fucking peasant jester! Determined to see the jester eat shit, Cailean chased after the medieval asshat and threw a haymaker at his face.
[18:10] Cailean rolls R8 (CC:be9e): 31, make the jester's face concave
[18:10] Valkyrie Asta Munthe rolls Dice (CC:be9f): 26, tries to dodge another flucking attempt
[18:12] Eala Du maintained her grip on one mousy tail and turned the lute about, around and around, till four pink feet scrabbled and slid from the lute chamber, managing to grasp at strings before it tumbled to the ground. There it hung swinging from lute, while it's kin dangled from fingers..swinging. Eala looked from one to the other, sensing some trickery, and so she lifted dangling from fingers mouse close to her lips and whispered, low, serious words. "Squeak." came answer. And the fae's burning eyes shifted, head inclined looking at pig-tailed Banf. Slowly she extracted the other mouse from the strings and held two mice by tails in one hand, dropped the Lute in the lap (not softly ouch) of it's true owner before strolling over Banf, "I believe you have 'lost' some mice." she said slowly and blinked once, not even turning her head away at some commotion at her back...not even the rhyme distracted her.
[18:13] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) put the 9 copper in Cedars hand "im so going to regret this..." a soft murmur escaped her lips before she took the drink and brought it to her lips as she tasted the drink once then took another drink "hmm interesting drink Cedar. Thank you for this." It was then she turned back towards Chione. She was paying no attention the little spat between the two nearby, it was foolish at least that was her take on it
.
[18:13] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) just tilted her head, following her ears to the sound of people and merriment, her gaze darting about. Though Meri usually wasn't the sort to be in this big a group of people, well - it should be a good change, right? She'd let her gaze flicker over the crowd, catching each familiar face in turn, Cedar's lilting voice, and... was that... the former Captain chasing after some hapless jester that... yeah, that wasn't going to go well. Not for the jester at least... She'd glance over towards Cedar, then skirt the back of the stalls and murmur quietly "Is that freedom going to his head do you think, or did the poor sop do something stupid?"
[18:16] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) took the 9 coppers in her hand and dropped the coin into a purse. "Thank ye kindly," she said to Sky, then reached for another mug to fill. Glancing over her shoulder to Meri, Cedar just shook her head. She hadn't even noticed yet that Cailean had arrived, nor whatever he was getting into, and even so she just said, "Aye ... doubly aye," at that.
[18:17] Banf smiled brightly, "Oh brave a valiant might, you have served me well and brought honor to your regiment!" Blue eyes would focus on Eala, as her arms crossed. "A hint. festival. Happy ongs! bright songs! Songas about wardens in kilts and drinking and hunting and ... an ..." her eyes went wide as she saw the poor jester attacked. " ... and i think I hear my tea whistling. Solving things with fists doesn't. Mice! be free! your duty is complete. Don't get hit my the brute squad. Fine. Truth. One Brute! good day ir!"
[18:17] Aradhelon Malethlhl Mont D'or entered at the most interesting of moments, wandering over to Chione's booth and leaning against the side of it. The wolf at his side seemed to sniff and the air and stair at the nearby man chucking things, attentive and a bit grumpy-faced by the frown on his wolfish lips, but Aradhelon was grinning away, watching the show with a cheerful expression upon his face. "Well, would you look at that, precious?" He cooed to the girl behind the booth. "Quite the carnival indeed! To think I almost missed out, would have been a true shame.." As he finished, he elegantly turned about, lounging there and giving a nod to the white-haired woman sitting down in the grass, his furry guardian sitting itself down with a small whine.
[18:18] Chione (Bokystroki) her damn stomach growled again, causing her to wince as Sky came back. "Aye, nae problem!" watches the little tussle go about with the jester she pouted, "No love for th'arts...." she replied shaking her head.
[18:18] Valkyrie Asta Munthe ::: The Jester, in all his annoying glory, did not realize in time that Cailean was going all hulk smash on his face, so when he turned to face the man again, he was met with a meaty fist to the face, and fell down to the ground with blood dripping out his nose. "Ahh a good punch my sir," the jester crackled. Never to break character. He jumped back up, wobbled a bit, but steadied himself and gave Cail a bloody grin. "But ye cannot break my spirit down, oh no you can't, and you can stand there to rant. But all I know that is true, is your face looks likes like a giant pile of doo!" The jester cackled and turned around, bending over and exposing his bare ass at Cail before running off. Valk had been watching, though the entire time she stood there and pinched the bridge of her nose, shaking her head.
[18:19] Bardaer moved gracefully across the cobblestones towards the gathering he'd heard from all the way down near lower Aberwyth with a flat expression. Pale eyes moved constantly in search of familiar faces, and though he noted more than one, he stopped a decent distance away from the proceedings to simply observe for the moment. Greetings could be put off a little longer, seeing as he'd already waited this long. Still, he appeared at least mildly pleased to see a few familiar faces. Somewhere near to him, a certain invisible presence lingered and made hardly a sound, but made no effort to hide itself from those sensitive to spirits.
[18:21] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) takes a bite of her cake, idly looking up to see the jester and... uh.. Calvin.. brawl and the other two squabble with the lute and... mice? Well NOW it was a carnival. Ella chuckles and looks down at her scroll, and starts to read, while trying to memorize the incantation written within, just as Aradhelon and his huge wolf walk past her and she nods even as her lips moved in chanting as she looked at one of the apples in that tub. Ella was not bothered by the large furry beast settling down next to her, even Loki just bounds around the beast's tail.. Anyway... Start simple.. Meri had said. Oh well.. why not. (1/2)
[18:22] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) takes another sip of her drink before looking to Chione "So kisses? why do you let so many kiss you... isnt that suppose to be something special? I mean I have no experience in such a thing." The Alpha then took another sip "so what is the meaning of this event? seems just like a mess of things here. With my kin a way to have fun is..." she stops at that not wanting to give too much away about herself.
[18:22] Skyrah rolls Dice (CC:bea0): 27, for the drink
[18:23] Casiphia only had to step outside of her house to find all of the ruckus that had been going on all day. Maybe it just hadn't appealed to her before- she was likely too much of a priss to find interest in mud wrestling. But it was worth checking out. A couple steps over and she'd recognize a familiar drow. "Bardaer?" She'd question, raising brows. And likely forgetting her own changes in appearance. "It has been a time since seeing you! How have you been?"
[18:25] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst): Aye, Cailean was relishing his new found freedom; when was the last time he'd gotten into a good brawl? Not that he expected to see much sport from hunting down the would-be clown but--.. aye, that felt good. That meaty kerthunk, the reverberation of flesh meeting flesh through his fist and arm. That was a /good/ feeling, and he'd expected things to end with that -- until the jester decided that today had to be a good day to die. Cailean shook his head and cracked his knuckles. "I was hoping you'd say something like that," he replied, his grin broadening. "I don't want to break your spirit -- you're a gods-damned jester. I just wanna' put another couple into you, you know, because I'm sure your awful sense of poetic device is enough to summon the great goddess Valeska herself, just so that she can take a steaming shit on this poor village to end your awful lyric. I'm just doing everyone a favor." Which was the biggest lie ever, considering Cailean just wanted to kick the shit out of him for no particular
[18:25] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst): reason. Walking after the mooning jester, Cailean attempted..
[18:25] Cailean rolls R8 (CC:bea1): 86, to see how far up said jester's arse his boot would go.
[18:26] Chione (Bokystroki) "Ah!" Taps her finger on her sign as she crossed her legs, swinging her feet idly, "Tha's only in fairy tales. E'vry one gives lil' kisses here and thar. Mums to daughters. Daughters tae aunties. A lil' peck here and there never killed anybody!" well, unless they have the plague or scurvy, but she'll just leave that bit out, "So whatcha say there, love? A little one for a little elf?" she teased, mentioning their height different, "I'm nae a big bad wolf or anythin'!"
[18:30] Eala Du swings the mice before Banf, and then narrows her eyes as arms fold and protest her choice of music, the mice wiggle and squirm at Banf's command to be free and Eala grips tails tightly, she was about to give short answer to the missy when she vanished with excuse of tea. Eala's mouth closed then opened, before she made growl of frustration and set the mice to the floor, the misdemeanour not theirs. They scurried away through the grasses and she exhaled heavily through nose, before laughing, "Tricky." she murmured following the disappearing form of Banf. Then gave her attention to the goings on around her, looking over to Crystiel ever so often, trying not to think of the shiny ring each time.
[18:30] Aradhelon Malethlhl Mont D'or watched the interaction between the tiny Chione and the woman at her booth, smiling slightly to see the reply that she would offer. Biku-Biku was interested in something else, thrusting his nose towards Ella now and giving her a few sniffs while his tail wagged a couple of times. He was a serious Wolf, but a pleasant one nevertheless, sharing the same level of charisma as his master apparently.
[18:31] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) kept her brows furrowed, her mind half a world away, remembering her last conversation with Emm and seeing all this... gaudy mess in Meri's mind.. made her more than a bit perturbed. Wait, Meri? Annoyed? Say it ain't so... She'd watch Cedar peddle her wares, with a bit of a grin, then sidled up closer, her gaze darting about. A familiar sense in the back of her mind, tickling at her, though she'd discard it as fancy and step over to the booth that Damien was standing at "Sorry I'm late and thanks... Why don't you head back, unless you want to give the lady over there a smooch?"
[18:32] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) was one such spiritually attuned, but lucky for her and her fine spirits, she did not yet happen to look that way. Where she looked however was at Meri, hands making steady work to fill yet another mug to the brim. "How 'bout a drink then, Meri?" Cedar asked, gesturing to the mug she was filling with her chin. "'Tis only 9 coppers aye? Tastes verra guid an' wha's a carnival wi'out a drink
[18:33] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) really contemplated on this, she just was not sure but the woman had been correct in some ways. "I guess your right" though the mention of a big bad wolf she grumbled "nothing wrong with wolves" muttering quietly. Taking another drink she just bit her bottom lip. Though her attention was caught soon by Arad and the wolf "new companion?" She did not see why people had wolves as companions they should be free and not tied to a person. Then a familiar face showed and her eyes went wide "Bardaer.....?"
[18:34] Valkyrie Asta Munthe ::: Well this was just a kick in the pants! Literally. He didn't get his pants pulled up in enough time before Cail placed that boot between his buttcheeks. And even though it hurt once boot met ass, he couldn't help but mess with the man even further and let out a nice little 'Oooooh~" and gave the man a cheeky grin. "Oh you are such a flirt! And oh how you make my heart hurt!" Valk continued to watch but with the butt kicking, she decided that it was enough and stepped on over to place a hand upon Cail's shoulder. "How...about you stop beating up the jester, hmm?" she'd say to him. "You may not be a captain anymore, but...it's getting to the point of brutality. Relax." She'd smile to him before moving over to the jester and wagged a finger at him. "Leave him be. Cailean doesn't want to be bothered." The jester would pout, but shrugged before cartwheeling off to go bother someone else.
[18:35] Bardaer glanced in Casi's direction and raised an eyebrow, clearly not recognizing her right off the bat. For a short while he remained completely silent until his eyes widened slightly in recognition, accompanied by a smooth reply of, "Casiphia. You appear to have lost your wings since last we spoke." Naturally, he pointed out the obvious without even an ounce of tact - such things were foreign to him, after all. "I trust this is not a permanent change?" Perhaps he'd have said more, but another mention of his name drew his pale gaze to searching the immediate area, up until he caught Sky's eye and arched an eyebrow. Again, he remained completely silent while sifting through his near-perfect memory to try and figure out who exactly he was speaking with. The paint certainly didn't help, but neither did his time away - eventually, he offered, "Indeed," to buy himself a bit of time. Likely, hearing her voice a bit more would assist him in recalling her identity.
[18:36] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) narrows her eyes at the apple, REALLY trying hard to concentrate... still muttering her incantation to levitate it at least a few feet up and pull it out of the tub. She does glance at the scroll though, definitely inept at it and also distracted by Biku-Biku who was now sniffing at her. Ella gives the wolf a distracted smile but puts out a palm in a friendly manner to show the wolf she meant no harm and whatever, so half focused she was on her spell that the apple barely SHAKES a bit, causing a small ripple on the already disturbed tub of water. "UGH!", she mutters, looking at Loki and hissing "Stop distracting me!", as if it were all the foxes fault for just bounding around Biku-Biku curiously (2/2)
[18:36] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) was glancing around, til she heard that name, her eyes flashing wide, and head darting to look at Sky then about to see .... And Meri nearly ... just... dropped. Cedar's question heard, and her hand lifting to wave about a little, declining as she always did... her voice somewhat breathless "Bardaer... Really?" Count one Meri, flabbergasted....
[18:38] Chione (Bokystroki) giggles at the jester who dashed off - watching him rather closely. Seems that the Elf had a bit of a thing for jesters! Noticing Sky had seen someone she knew she turned to Arad for a moment, cooing, "Monty! Lookin' as dashing as always!" she couldn't help but especially notice his mask, that looked oddly.....delicious? Chione's stomach growled.
[18:38] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst): Actually, Cailean's mood had improved drastically since he'd landed a few good hits and he'd have left the jester alone after that. After all, he didn't want to /kill/ him, just, maim him. Well, give him what for! "Aye, aye," he told Valk with a wave of dismissal. "And that's /hardly/ brutality," he grinned at Valk. "I didn't even break one of his ribs yet." Truth be told, he was very surprised that the jester was able to even do a cartwheel after getting that boot. Shrugging, he headed on by and over to Cedar's booth finally, glancing at Meri and offering her a nod if she happened to look in his direction. You know, if she was done making googly eyes at the burnt elf over yonder, aye? "Cedar," he said, his gaze shifting back to her. "Didn't mention you'd be running a booth. I'd've helped." Since, you know, he doesn't have anything better to do with his time.
[18:39] Eala Du turned light circles, listening, watching, she stopped to stare at the wolf for some time, then turned again, two faces she did not find in the throngs of folk. Two faces she wished to see, Daisuke and the stranger with the eyes the colour of the dream plane. A jester cartwheeled past her, looking a little worse for wear and she smirked over to the assailant, considering a nightmare about jesters one to store for later use. Evidently the jolly figures provoked strong feeling. That thought made a satisified 'hmm' escape her lips, then her eyes widened turning at the mention of wings missing, yet she had not name to put to faces or faces to put to names, so could only guess who spoke and who was wingless.
[18:40] Aradhelon Malethlhl Mont D'or looked down to Biku-Biku, answering the woman with a small smile. "Ah, this is my old friend, came to join me as of recently. Very special Wolf he is, and I cherish him deeply. The good sir assisted me a good many times, and has offered his assistance again as of late, insisting on arriving on the Island, though I was unaware for the longest time of his presence..." He reached over and gave the Wolf a good pat on the head, to which he turned and panted pretty contently. The Wolf turned back, watching the fox for a few rounds with a returned sniff, apparently very patient with the energetic creature, before he responded to Ella's raised hand with a lick on its surface. Said "Monty" Lifted a gloved hand and grazed his cheekline a bit dramatically, his chin lifting to the sky. "Ah, I do my best pet, thank you for the compliments. You are looking lovely as ever as well.."
[18:42] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) pouted smally when Meri turned down the drink. Meri turned down everything that Cedar offered and Cedar was pretty sure she knew why. Smart elf. But along came a Cailean and to him, Cedar turned and gave a sweet smile. Since she had a full mug of brew in her hand, she reached forward and placed it in his, reaching straight after for another empty mug to fill. "I'd no' gave it any thought," she lilted with a simple shrug. "Yer welcome ta aid me now if'n ye like Cailean. I wint turn it down." She winked at him and then turned to begin filling the new mug to the brim. As she did so, the fae lifted her voice to call out again to the crowd. "Stiff drinks! Fine brews! Come on ower an' get sloshed! Wha's a carnival wi'out yer gullet filled wi' drink? Lady Luck's abound tanigh'!"
[18:44] Casiphia glanced over herself with the mentioning of the change, before back to the drow with a faint laugh. "Oh, of course not. In all honesty I fear I would dread being stuck in such a form." Her hands held together in front of her, glancing off to the business of Middle Aberwyth, though taking a couple steps forward. "Last thing I would want is to be some silly El-" She stopped short of her talkin shit bout them elves when hearing another call Bard's name. And noticing it to be an elf. A forces grin was made over to the woman, waving a hand in a cheery greeting. "Evening, Miss!" She turned back to the Drow to regard him with some curiosity, "Where have you run off to in this time, anyhow? Much within the city has changed since you where last seen. People and the City overall."
[18:44] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) stepped towards Bardaer "oh Bard please do not tell me you have forgotten of me, I mean I know I have changed a bit but I didn't think that it has been that much of a change." She was definitely very happy to see the man that she befriended so many months ago. Tho the drink was starting to truly relax her, pointing her finger to Chione "now about this kiss, Ive never have had or given one before. How much does this say kiss cost?" Though her attention once more was taken back to Arad "well you have a lovely companion, very beautiful creature." She then knelt down and seemed to let out a soft rumble from her chest to the wolf as in giving it a greeting.
[18:47] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst) had a drink! What could be better? This was exactly the kind of festival he could get behind -- fine women, good drink, and he'd gotten his knuckles bruised the good way. "I'll stand the booth for you if you'd like to go about and see the rest of the festival. I'd already had some fun, aye?" Cailean smiled at Cedar and then sipped his drink, sipped again, sipped a third time and...
[18:47] Cailean rolls Dice (CC:bea3): 38, russian roulette shotgun drink!
[18:49] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) just stared a moment... her eyes widened and though she knew Cedar didn't know him, at Cailean's voice she'd snap her eyes back, still with that shocked look on her face then back to Bardaer then back to Cailean before her expression went completely smooth and neutral. The gears turning and her body stilling, not even the usual rustle was sounding before she just ... stopped. The cheery wave from the blonde met with a blink of her eyes as Meri just... stared. The other voices and recognition making it clear that she wasn't dreaming... Meri'd finally shake her head clear of it and turn to Cedar almost asking for a drink, only to catch Cailean's lifting the mug to his lips. Her eyes darting to Cedar and back, with a parting of her lips as if to protest, but.. too late.
[18:50] Chione (Bokystroki) tossled her hair, grinning, "It's the fluff. I'm sure yer friend knows that too!" she commented, thinking of reaching out with her hand to pet the elegant canine before thinking better of it. "Wha' brings you out here?" turning to sky she held up two fingers, "Two silver love! But I'll haggle it down low for a friend!" she teased, chuckling.
[18:51] Bardaer was thankfully looking in that direction when Meri spoke - of course, she'd been one of those present he was quite pleased to see. After shifting his gaze over to her, he offered a small smile, then remarked, "Merialeth. I trust I find you well?" Of course, after a few moments he noted her expression and tilted his head slightly to the side, appearing rather baffled. Oh yes, he still lacked a sense of understanding regarding others. "You appear rather faint, but I do not recall you partaking often in drink, unless that has changed," he continued clinically, still appearing slightly confused. Thankfully, his attention was drawn back to Casi before he could dig himself a deeper hole, before he arched an eyebrow and dryly remarked, "No further run-ins with celestial beings then, I see?" Still no tact. Nope, not any. Again, a small smile graced his delicate features as he went on to explain, "I traveled for a short while, truth be told. I found myself wishing to see more of the world, and to expand my
[18:51] Bardaer: knowledge in certain fields of study where I was deficient. I accomplished my goals." He paused. "I believe I will require some of your time in the near future, so as to learn what has changed in my absence." Upon hearing Sky speak again, he turned back towards her and lifted an eyebrow again...and there it was. Finally he showed recognition in his expression, after which he smoothly replied, "Skyrah. The light does nothing positive for my vision, I hope you will understand. I am pleased to see you again."
[18:51] Eala Du looked over shoulder to the calls to drink, she was indeed thirsting, and hungry as it happened. She eyes the barrel, then sauntered towards it, before kneeling to fill her palm with water, lifting her cup to her lips and drinking. Oddly not one drop of water ran away between fingers or slipped from the fleshy bowl. Then Eala picked up an apple in her fingers and took it away with her to say farewells to Crystiel before returning to the Ashen trees and the stone circle. Her skin prickled a little as she bypassed the drink stand, and her feet paused, then she gave a dark smile of amusement, carrying on her way.
[18:53] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) looks up overhearing Aradhelon's explanation and quirks and eyebrow "Sir? Well that's a mighty fine title.. Sir Biku-Biku.", she chuckles, ruffling the wolf behind its ears with the same palm licked. While Loki made a home under the huge wolf, and curled down beneath Biku-Biku's feet as if he'd known the wolf forever. Ella chuckles and shakes her head, now, REALLY trying to concentrate on the spell scroll in her hand as she looks now for a new target... hmmm.. Oh calvin ( Cailean ) had a drink in his hand.. Why not? She stares intently at the mug, from where she sat she had to lean a bit to the side to focus, but she still begins chanting. With so much noise and bustle, it was so hard to concentrate.. but she does try her best once more! (1/2)
[18:54] Valkyrie Asta Munthe laughed a bit at Cail's words. "Yeah, yeah," she'd say, then looked around. There had been some that have made use of the games, but so far no one else seemed to wanting to use them. She'd sigh a bit then looked around once again, and caught sight of a masked figure in the fortune telling tent, the one with the mask that had been at the market some weeks back, and walked on over towards it. "Are you still taking readings?" she'd ask the figure with a bit of a smile.
[18:55] Cailean (Alistair Greymyst): The drink was good. Very good. He'd just glanced away for a moment when his eyes lit upon a lovely little faun standing beside a mud pit. Cailean stopped cold as a feeling gripped him in the chest, a feeling that was as familiar to him as it was bewildering. He reached up and set his hand over his heart; his pulse raced and love, true love, burned through his veins, molten and hot. He set his drink down on the booth and simply walked toward the Krystiel, pausing only when Eala stepped into view. Who was that? Why was she talking to his lady fair? He bounded up the hill toward the mud-ring, knelt in front of the faun and stared. "My name is Cailean. I love you."
[18:56] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower) instantly recognized the woman, her lips curling into a crooked smile as she nodded, "Of course, Lady Aberwyth. How can I be of assistance?"
[18:57] Aradhelon Malethlhl Mont D'or nodded his head in thanks to the woman complimenting his friend, the Wolf turning his head and replying with a friendly rumble of his own. A very polite, sophisticated Wolf he was. "Ah, I am simply watching and supporting the City events, considering one of those fine drinks over there..." Considering more than they knew. He was desperately wanting to thrudge over there and down a good mug, a weakness of his being all sorts of delicious consumables. Biku-Biku simply enjoyed the petting and comfort of the woman nearby, his head dipping down to give a few licks on the head of the fox. He had a very tranquil personality. If any could find out the truth, they would wonder why Biku-Biku even fancied Aradhelon at all.
[18:57] Lιттle Ƭree (Cedar Ashland) 's gaze shifted when Meri's body language went all weird, lifting them back to the elf at the next stall. Cedar cocked a brow in an inquiring way, and since she had just finished filling the mug, lifted it as if in question -- did Meri wish a drink after all? The cause of Meri's consternation having been missed by Cedar, busy as she'd been with the stall, Cedar merely watched Meri and waited, calling out yet more as she had done before, "Nice cool drinks! Bonnie brews! Applebottom's 'ere ta quench yer thirsts -- come on ower an' hae a drink! Lady Luck is waitin' fer ye!" What with one thing and another, Cedar didn't even realise that Cailean had drank down the brew so fast, so when he went bounding off, that too was missed -- though not the words so eloquently declared. And for them ... Cedar grinned.
[18:59] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) turned to look at Chione scrunching her nose at the mention of silver, then rubbing her right arm "I do not own any silver, not to my liking you could say... only copper and some gold." She then looked towards Bardaer "I do understand old friend, I do hope we could sit down and catch up soon? I do have much to tell you. I hope these past few months have been well for you?" She was glad to see Bard was back, he helped her in the past and would ever be greatfull for that. A smile was given to the wolf before standing up and looking to Chione "how could I pass giving a kiss to a pretty little elf?" Did she just say that! The alcohol must really be hitting her fast this time, she never would usually "I mean uh well..." she didn't continue she just rubbed her face as she felt her cheeks turn red.
[19:00] Valkyrie Asta Munthe smiled and very gently sat down in the chair across from the masked figure, placing her hands in her lap. "Well...the last time you came, your fortunes were quite interesting...and my curiosity has gotten the best of me." But, she was thinking of one thing in particular, with Vincent's brother, and she wanted to ask. "I know I shouldn't tempt fate, but...I have been curious..." She'd lean over to whisper into the figure's ear before sitting back.
[19:00] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) | Excellent. Ella groans, as the mug is set down, now for SURE the spell wouldn't work. Oh well! She then once more bends, and looks at the scroll to begin learning the spell once more. Trying to memorize it first before even trying to cast it on anything. Distracted for a bit by the dapper Biku-Biku, she chuckles. Head bent for a while as she buried herself in the scroll.. but seriously.. how could anyone... -study- in a carnival?
[19:01] Casiphia blinked at Bard's first question, before pausing, seeming to think it over. "Celestial beings. Ah, there was a small angelic child that wanted to latch herself to my ankles a few times. At least since then the 'Godly' creatures have left me be. It is mostly other races that deal the trouble now." A shrug of the shoulder, and she'd simply turn her gaze to look about the group once more, though an ear turned to the drow to hear of his stories, nodding her head. "Travelling sounds lovely- I had done around ten years of such before appearing here." A glance back to the man and fleeting smile. "Of course I will share whatever information is necessary. Moved buildings, fires, a couple deaths. The usual." The gaze off to the others seemed to take note of certain recognized backs and faces, though ending up eyeing that wolf besides tha ttall brother of hers, furrowing brows. "Aradhelon?" She called over, "When did you get yourself a familiar?" Really just what she ended up calling all pets, even if she h
[19:01] Casiphia: idea of there being magic or otherwise involved.
[19:01] Casino (CasiphiaAdin): had no *))
[19:04] Chicane (Maeve Wickentower) coos at the woman, shuffling her cards greatly as she then fanned them out for her to choose, "Four if you please..." she rumbled, her mismatched eyes watching her with great interest, as she laced her fingers and rested her head upon them.
[19:04] Vincent Keene (Vincent3342) had gone off for a few moments to make sure the things at the hosue were set, and that he was able to finish his spell learning tonight. Eitehr way he rejoined the party, and he moved around the folks there listening to the banter as he passed the purple tent his head tilting to the side as he Saw Val sitting with a Seer and he smiled a bit taking a post outside the tent, looking at those around. It was a good time afterall, hearing those around them drinking and laughing and so on, what had been a slow start war sreally going now... which made him grin a bit widely. He was also happy that Val was out amongst the people.
[19:06] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) flashed her eyes over again as she heard her name, that familiar voice tugging at her ears as she dashed a look back, then saw Cailean wander off behind her. Her eyes caught between the two, confusion at Cailean and unabashed delight at seeing the Drow again as she dashed Cedar a smile and headed over Bard's way. "You know me well enough - I don't drink like that... I... I'm glad to see you..." then stopped short cause of course, Sky & the other woman she recognized - oh right, Casi - from the bookstore, they were all trying to speak as well. Meri'd stop short blush brightly again, and step back once more, then look over at Cedar and the drink, then back and only then did she catch Cailean's words floating on the breeze, her eyes nearly popping out of her head. Ok - too much, Meri was done. Stepping back, looking between the three faces she knew best, starting to go towards Cedar and that drink, then looking at Bardaer and Sky and Casi and then back to Cedar's grin and over to Cailean, then back to
[19:06] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan): Cedar, then shaking her head and backing up. She needed to clear her head, yeah.. that's it...
[19:07] Valkyrie Asta Munthe would wait patiently and watched the seer with interest while she shuffled the cards. She'd spot Vincent coming over and would smile a bit to him before turning her focus back onto the masked figure in front of her, and would do as she said and would pick four cards.
[19:08] Liandra Latte is online.
[19:08] Liandra Latte is offline.
[19:09] Chione (Bokystroki) couldn't help but lap up the complement, snerking in joy! "Why thank ye, love! It's m'wit and bubbly personality I assure ya! Now not havin' silver - that completely rocks my noggin' in the most oddest of ways but I'll settle for ten copps if you gottem!" she held all ten fingers out as she said this, being the best haggler ever. (not.)
[19:09] Aradhelon Malethlhl Mont D'or turned and spied Casiphia upon hearing his name being called, chuckling and calling back. "Ah, Sister? Sir Biku-Biku here has always been an old friend! Only recently have we come across each other once more... Isn't that right, my good fellow?" He purred down to the Wolf, who simply responded with a tilt of his head and good eye at his master. "Ah yes... Hmmm. I think I shall go and have myself a lovely drink..." He immediately set out towards Cedar's booth, Biku-Biku following loyally at his side while his jewelry jingled away.
[19:09] Liandra Latte is online.
[19:10] Bardaer 's confusion remained evident on his face as the blond man went bounding off and making a serious turnaround to his previously displayed behavior...but perhaps fortunately, that change went without comment, as his attention was once more drawn over to Sky. "Of course. I have no demands on my time as of yet, and I will gladly make some in order to catch up." Trailing off, sheer bafflement made itself present in his expression upon hearing Sky continue on. That was unexpected, and completely erased whatever else he'd planned on saying from his mind. "Um," he offered up helpfully, before turning pale eyes questioningly back on Casi and giving a small shrug of his own. "I am pleased to hear such," he began, apparently not wishing to press that first subject further than normal. "The usual...I see. Nothing dangerous to your person, I hope? As for movement of buildings...has the book store been relocated? As you might expect, knowing its location is of great import

Spell Learning from Meri at Auguriis [20:36] The Auguriis Magic and Oddities Shop: As you walk into the Auguriis, you are hit with an estrangement of different scents that are spread across the store; multiple herbs and magical ingredients, the occasional love potion, old books and scrolls, leather.
[20:42] Taegen V'hoori (Alyxz Marenwolf) laughed a little bit and followed the girls pointing, nodding slowly. "Oh My friend works there also and I work in the infirmary. Im sorry to hear you were so sick." she frowned but then a smile reemerged, " But I am glad you are better now. " The avariel wandered closer and turned towards the rest of the area, watching it a moment as she listened to Lexi. " Well you definitely could be. I practice magic and I also heal people."
[20:44] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) heads to the magic store late in the evening, the walk through the lush greenery of the isle a pleasant one as she nods to any whom she might have seen along the way but her destination was set for the store. Ella pushes the door open, as always in awe of the colors and lights and fragrances that filled the place, she clears her throat and calls out to the same blonde male she had seen the last time she was here "Ahem... Hello there! Is Meri around? I had hoped to see if she could help a bit with the spell she had said she would offer lessons in?"
[20:51] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) jerked her head up at the sound of the door, her eyes blinking about and the book beneath her fingers sliding back as she leaned over slightly in her seat and caught sight of Ella below. The soft dip of her head and warm murmur of "Good evening... I'll be right down..." as she slid the chair back a little bit, and lifted to her feet, turning to head down and stifling a yawn. "Apologies I was so caught up apparently I didn't even hear the door..." Her steps pausing as she reaches the front counter, tipping her head the barest amount in thought then added "Levitation, yes? How has your practice been going so far?"
[20:58] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) looks up as she hears the sounds and nods as she sees Meri descend. Ella smiles "Good eve! Not at all! Must be a good read then", she makes a polite gesture at the book she had left to attend to Ella. Ella anyway reaches into a pouch and pulls out a silver, she had had the few days to save that amount. Passing the fee towards her over the counter she smiles wryly and shakes her head "Well I memorized the incantation... and did try to focus and apply my concentration but... uh... lets just say... things do not want to listen to me!", she chuckles "There must be -something- I am doing wrong... ", she shakes her head and pulls out that scroll, which did look a lot creased and used well by now, for she had at least read it once or twice a day, and she bends to look at it before looking back up at Meri, "I'm all ready for a good lesson!"
[21:07] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) chuckled wryly, a glance upwards behind her and back to Ella, her own light sigh of frustration "Oh, trust me I understand your battle, I'm studying myself... and well - shall we say the fates are not with me either. As much as I emphasize it in others' learning, it's .. sobering to remember that it's no easier to learn myself sometimes." The soft purr of laughter on her breath as she shrugs lightly "Anyway, yes I'm quite sure you are. You'll get it I'm sure, just a matter of time and determining what the best method of focus is for you, and how to express that in your spell. How do you usually do your casting, Ella?"
[21:12] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods in agreement, "Aye.. true that!", she nods and goes on to explain "I normally do not channel my focus through an object, for, as forgetful as I am... it is highly likely that I would lose my channeling device every hour", she rolls her eyes "It is mostly by focus on the intended target for the effect of my spell to take place on, and by saying the incantation out loud. Oh I have had so many troubles with that... sometimes I forget the spell half way through... but thankfully practice overcomes all.. yes? But anyway... as I was saying, reciting the chant in crisp tones mostly has worked well enough for me."
[21:19] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) nodded softly, the answer she sought within Ella's reply bringing a smile to her lips "I know it can be different for everyone, so I tend to inquire. For me it's either spoken, or Song, but I'm sure you've likely noticed that." She'd used it to pull the scroll out that Ella was holding, and though normally she wouldn't reveal as such, it was a lesson of sorts that the necessity of casting could be just as flexible. "Alright then, so once you go to focus... try... " glancing about the room, Meri'd grin at the silver and dash her a smile "Show me how you've done so far..."
[21:26] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods, "Oh I do believe I have heard you sing at times... that is your means of casting? Interesting", she smiles at the woman, a bit intrigued at her prowess on such. Ella nods once as she is asked to show her how she had gone about it, taking a deep breathe, she focuses on one berry on the platter set upon the counter and tries to chant the spell, obviously making mistakes in the intonations and speed of how she said it, and her eyes narrow as she blinks a bit too much, while staring on the berry. The object trembles JUST a bit visibly, but does no more. Ella sighs "There.. see.. I cannot even.. lift a grape...", she chuckles.
[21:32] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) chuckled softly, nodding "It's one of the ways yes, it seems to help my focus... and I don't have to remember long incantations..." Meri'd grin at that... then smiles softly "It's ok - just try again, slow down your speed some, focus on the words, let them fill your head not just your lips... til all you can think about is the intent of what's in your mind, then try again..."
[21:37] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods, listening carefully as Meri instructed "Alright... slow down.. let words fill head... Very well.. let me try something else now...", she turns her head, looking around for another small object nearer to focus on, the coin still on the counter, and she nods, fixing her gaze on the silver, and slooowly begins to chant the spell, the words clear and pronounced fairly correctly, as her eyes did not move while she concentrated on the coin. (1/2)
[21:40] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) just nodded quietly, unwilling to distract overmuch, she'd press her lips together, biting back the instinct to start humming along and enhance the draw of Magic she could feel looming. The shiver tracing down her spine, the soft rustling sounding about her again as she watched between Ella and her focus, listening to the cadence of the words and the tones of her voice as she nodded softly in encouragement.
[21:43] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) flicks her gaze from the coin to look at Meri, like how a child would look up at a teacher to see if she was doing something right? Not seeing any deterring action from her, Ella keeps at it, a bit more focused but, even small distractions cost a lot, and just as she approaches the end of the chant, the coin lifts up from the surface by barely the width of a finger before clattering back on to the wooden counter with the usual metalling soft clanging sound. Ella's eyes widen "Oh that -actually- moved!", she exclaims with a grin, cuz, well even -that- much was HUGE for her.
[21:43] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) (that was 2/2)
[21:45] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) just grinned, her eyes fixed on the coin and as it slid, she'd nod once, content "That - is a very good start.. and see! All it takes is a little more practice... and perseverance... You'll get there... Now, did you notice anything different in the feel of the Magic as you were casting, something more concrete you can use to remind yourself next time?"
[21:50] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) narrows her eyes at it took her some effort to actually put into memory what she had done different. "Uhhmmm... Slower... definitely a LOT slower than I normally said it while I tried it before... and um.. no foxes or wolves or anything to distract me... Well I -did- practice in teh Carnival.. which probably was not the most prudent thing to do", she chuckles sheepishly and then seriously adds "Well when I do take the time, the words do feel more easier to say... and like you said, taking the time makes them fill my head... it is usually spells like this that confund me... evocation and such... there speed does matter a lot!", she mutters almost to herself, trying to find a way to get better at remembering this spell.
[22:01] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods, listening and trying to commit to memory all that she was being told. Taking deep breathes, she nods, looks around the shop, and smirks "Well at least with this spell, I will always remember the smell of incense and herbs... in here... -that- is unique to my learning of this spell... ", she chuckles and rolls up the scroll to tuck in back safely "Um.. well anyway, The gist is, focus, slow down, speak clearly, use some sort of mnemonic device, and lots and lots of practice...", she sighs "Feels like I'm back in training.. but when does one stop training hm? You might leave the school.. but school never leaves you eh?"
[22:06] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) grinned and nodded once more, yep Meri was like a medieval bobblehead at times, but - when the situation warranted, well - so be it. "That sounds like you have it pretty well down, and indeed, at this rate, might get you in here to teach others and pass on the knowledge you have!" Meri'd smile warmly, the words though they may have been delivered in a light-hearted tone, were more than serious, and she enjoyed the woman's presence. "And you're right - it never does really leave you, not if you wish to keep moving ahead and continuing to learn. Which at least personally, I always consider a good thing..." Meri'd chuckle softly, and flick a glance down then back as the soft lilting hum teased through her lips softly, but Ella might feel the growing sense of Magic pulling about them again. (1/2)
[22:09] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) blinks but shakes her head with a soft laugh "Oh oh.. you are too kind to say so... Oh with my scatterbrainedness at times... I might mix up the chant for a flame bolt with that of a sleeping spell.. and -that- would not be something we wuld like!", she grins, joking of course but just as Meri started to sing, Ella straightens up, knowing her means of casting and pays keen attention to what was going on with complete silence as she sensed the arcane energy flow around.
[22:13] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan)'s Song turned to almost a laugh, the notes skipping and tripping as the merriment rose in her gaze, her lips parting and her fingers rising to motion towards the coin as her eyes dropped from Ella's to the coin. Her head tilting ever so slightly and crooking a finger at it as if calling it, while the Song rose to a soft crescendo... the coin lifting into the air and dancing, bouncing and making it's way to Meri's open palm, as the music and Magic faded. Meri'd dash a bashful smile to Ella and dip her head "I thank you for your time, and should you wish another lesson, or want to ask any other questions, by all means I'd be delighted."
[22:16] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's ears resounding with the ethereal sound of Meri's musical casting and she just watches with an open mouth as the coin -dances- its way into her palm. "Well.. To see -that- alone. It was worth it!", she grins, "Oh I should be grateful for -your- time! Thank you for the lesson! And I will keep practicing!!", she winks at the lady and offers a small bow of departure as she makes towards the door, satisfied at having learned quite a bit today!
22:17] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) gave her a warm smile, her head dipping with another soft nod as she murmured "Have a wonderful evening and plese do be safe..." glancing out at the looming darkness then back "See you soon!"

Spell learnt from Meri at Auguriis - FINALLY [20:35] Vincent Keene (Vincent3342) he looked to her and furrowed his brow a bit as he watched her the wings yes, he had and he pointed and laughed a bit, "HAH! I 'm not crazy!" he said with a grin some of his joy returning before deminishing a bit... yeah, his luck... he had to remember it, and he looked down slowly, she should know how it was familiar, she'd seen the slits in his clothing correct? if not that was fine but he seemed semi happy now, "Sorry for that outburst, just... every time I've come in here." he shrugged a bit, "I was currious and i'm sorry if showing me them made you uncomfortable."
[20:38] The Auguriis Magic and Oddities Shop: As you walk into the Auguriis, you are hit with an estrangement of different scents that are spread across the store; multiple herbs and magical ingredients, the occasional love potion, old books and scrolls, leather.
[20:40] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) couldn't help the soft purr of laughter in her voice, she had noticed his clothes, after all some of hers were the same way, when her hair couldn't hide it, but even so, there could have been... other options. The tip of her head as she gave a faint grin "No worries... I'm ot much in the habit of showing them off.. It's... sort of a long story, though..." and she'd pause a moment, perusing him carefully then added, "... like I'm sure you have your reasons as well." Her eyes flicking about the room and falling silent with a slight shrug, the expanse curling in close about hernow as she snugged her arms about her waist with a slight smile.
[20:42] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) pushes open the door to Auguriis with one hand, the other hand cupped in a palm with a copper BARELY floating maybe half an inch over it as Ella seemed to stare at it intently, muttering the Levitation incantation, suddenly it rises a bit more higher only to fail to remain aloft in the air and instead just plops down into her palm and Ella sighs with an disgruntled expression on her face that soon turns to a wry grin "Greetings Meri... Hope you are well? I practiced a lot and seem to be getting the hang of it... I just hoped I could steal a few moments of your time to just show you my progress and ask if you would suggest some improvement...", before looking at the other person who was also present, and her eyes narrow before she blinks, trying to recognize him, naah, it couldn't be. Either way she clears her throat and greets him as well "Uh.. Greetings.. ", she pauses as she studies him more carefully and then her golden eyes widen but she refrains from making the guess. The sights and smells of the
[20:42] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): magic shop as always leaving her mesmerized for a few moments.
[20:46] Vincent Keene (Vincent3342) he nodded a bit as he looked down, "I see.... I do have tow orry given my job. But I have reasons, after all, why show my greatest advantage to thsoe who think I'm nothing more then what I am?" he said with a smirk as he would then let the glammer slip as his wings which were folded around him much like a frock or a poncho came into view, it was how he had them to minimize people from bumping into him and them... then asking questions after all a face full of feathers when there was nothing would be questionable but it brought a smile knowing he wasnt alone then the door open and he stepped backwards his wings were stil out and he seemed to get a bit weary, but remained composed, the woman who had came in talking sounded.... nooo.... he would stay silent for a few moments watching her and blinked slightly... could it be... maybe here eyes had widened and his glowing solid blues looked at her... well... this was... going to be interesting for sure.
[20:55] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) blinks, pocketing the copper before seeing -both- the figures in the room expand their wings. She does not seem shocked or anything, maybe a polite surprise showed on her face, but that was all. And now that she saw Vincent's wings wrapped around him, her doubts vanished and her face breaks out into a full grin as she looked at the marked face of the male, "Ha! I -KNEW- it was you! My memory is awful but not -THAT- bad!!", she exclaims, she too closes her eyes for a moment, standing straight as an arrow and with a soft shiver of her body, the glamor that concealed her own wings vanishes and she chuckles "Well well... I didn't want to feel left out!!", she looks from Meri to Vincent and then crosses her arms as she cants her head at her cousin "Fancy seeing -YOU- here! What has it been... eight - nine - ten years? It feels like so long! How have you been Vincent?", she quirks a silver eyebrow as she speaks to him and then as Meri speaks she turns to face her "I have been practicing! Really! Well
[20:55] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): practicing on eggs was definitely not a good idea... I managed to break a few... what with the supply shortage and all!", she shakes her head sheepishly and then adds "I wanted to get some practice and maybe buy another spell scroll... "
[21:01] Vincent Keene (Vincent3342) he caughed a bit as he looked to ehr, well, yep, it was her.... fantastic. "I.... uh...-" he studdered a bit as he looked to Meri and the shop, and then back to meri trying to shift things around here.... "Well.. I dont know if you could use help but I'm well versed in the knowledge of magery and the Battlemage College I graduated from back home I made Grandmaster Enchanter." he said lightly, yeah he needed other things to do besides being... around that guard house and..... there. this seemed... to draw him back down one could visibly see his wings droop a bit, "Yeah something like that." his voice came out soft, nothing like a battlemage should, "I.... have been... okay." well recently not so much... and he sort of backedup a bit to lean on the counter avoiding things so not to break them or send them toppling over.
[21:10] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) sort of blinked a little at the exclamation from Ella, her own surprise at the reaction more than anything else, though as Ella's wings were revealed, she'd let loose another soft peal of laughter, casting her gaze between both of them, only fading a little after a moment. Her smile dropping and with a quick flutter of her eyes closed, the brush of fingers over her necklace once more and the hint of Magic teasing through the air, her wings faded out of sight once more, her arms still clasped about her waist. She'd reach to pluck up the scroll she'd been reading when Vincent came in as she spun on her toes and moved towards the scrollcase again, the soft hum on her breath as she replaced it in it's cubby next to it's mate, and busied herself with sorting out the others while the two conversed and apparently caught up on old times. The comment of another scroll catching her attention, flicking a look over her shoulder as she glanced over at Ella "Oh, which were you looking for this time?" The change in demeanour again noted from Vincent's behalf, though Meri was too well-mannered to remark on it. It
[21:10] ѕкץяαн ℓuиαзdgз (LilMia91) is offline.
[21:10] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) took her a moment to realize he'd been talking to her and not Ella, her brows furrowing as she tilted her head and perused him again, replaying his words in her head. "Ah, that's kind of you to offer, I do happen to have a couple of grandmaster enchanters already though on staff." Yes, they might not be around daily, but other than herself, they were when she needed them.
[21:13] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) sees how uncomfortable Vincent seemed, this has her curious and it showed on her face for a small bit before she exclaims "Grandmaster Enchanter? That is impressive! I myself barely have scratched the surface of the skill of enchanting... Anyway... How did.. where.. why.. here..", she mutters as her endless questions trail off and she shakes her head deciding, maybe for another time. She then looks at Meri making sure her own white plumed appendages stayed clear of knocking things down and such. She nods, watching as Meri glamored her wings away and before she does the same to her own, she responds "Well.. everyone could do with a bit of luck.. and I was thinking to learn Future's Defense maybe... the idea struck me when I was at the forest battling that blasted shadeling and I figured it could actually be useful you know...Is it the same cost for the scroll? And is it a spell that you or one of your staff might help me learn as well?"
[21:32] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) felt the enchantment take hold, her faint breath of a sigh passing her lips as she shivered once and nodded. It was quite the accomplishment to be sure, the time in learning impressive indeed, she just... didn't really need another enchanter. "Hm... that's one I don't have right now, but I can get for you in a a couple days likely." Her brows furrowing in thought, casting out her memories of ports and associates she knew before nodding once more. "Yes, I should be able to get a hold of that one for you. IT'll only be 20 copper for that one..." The slight furrow and faltering of her words as she spoke them, then shrugged a bit. Eh, it wouldn't be that difficult to get a hold of. That would work. The second part of Ella's comment finally hitting her as she glanced back at the woman "Wait, a shadeling, you fought a shadeling?" Her eyes immediately flicking over Ella's form, though it should be clear it wasn't any sort of impolite one, simply ... checking for something. The faint sigh of relief passing her lips as she hugged herself tighter and made her way back to her usual spot behind th
[21:32] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) the counter. "That doesn't happen to be one any of my staff knows, my apologies..."
[21:38] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods, a bit more relaxed as she hears the cost "Oh that sounds much affordable... Please do try to get a hold of it for me and I shall obtain it from you later!", she catches Meri's look and bends down to look at herself, "Uh.. yes.. A shadeling.. a nasty one with tentacles and thorns and it looked like a dryad from the abyss. We killed it though but I am sure there are more and hence I have to prepare... The nasty being and its tainted blood... ugh", she wrinkles her nose in annoyance and disgust before she finally shakes it off "Well just ONE time I want to try and show you my casting of the Levitation spell.. ", she pulls out the copper piece once more and places it on the counter, clearly speaking the incantation just in the right speed as she focused on the coin. (1/2)
[21:44] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) chuckled faintly, her head tipping as she nodded, more reasonable for her indeed, though supplies -were- tighter and Meri should charge more, especially with the travel that this one was going to require. Meri'd listen intently, the familiarity of the description she gave and the recollection of cedar's words echoing through her head. She'd suffice herself with the knowledge that Ella didn't -appear- to be harmed at all, though when she mentioned the blood, her eyes darted back to Ella "You didn't touch it, did you? Please tell me you didn't..." then faded off quickly as she herd Ella start casting, a hand lifting to brush away the question she'dposed, too intent on not distracting from her spell.
[21:51] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) kept her casting going, the chant clear and resounding as she finishes it finally and intently looks at the copper that rises from the counter to about a couple of inches this time but IMMEDIATELY falls down. She shrugs, attributing it to her distraction in speaking with Meri about the shadeling, "Ah.. see I cant hold it up for long but I think I am getting it.. aren't I?", she asks before sighing and shaking her head "The ichor? no.. I.. I flew up when it started oozing... Besides.. I am trained and blessed to be immune to magical and non magical diseases, poison and toxin... I was worried for Bradock though... my husband.. it was him who banished it after we slashed and burned it to its death... But he too did not touch it... I heard it affected one that did... Well we were taught of it.. just after the blight... not how to cure the taint that caused the disease but we were told of what would happen...and we have seen it first hand... blasted beings..."
[21:51] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): (2/2)
[21:57] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) nods listening, more than a bit relieved to hear that both were well, and that Ella herself, was safe regardless. Her eyes sparkling softly, the faint shadow passing over her features then relaxing "Indeed, I know of the one recently who was afflicted, and thank the Goddess, was able to help her and chase away the infection. If you should come across another - or if your husband is ever affected, come find me. I will help." She liked Ella, and even though she'd never met her husband, couldn't stand the thought of something hurting Ella. "Just... remember that, alright?" Her earnest look as she peered carefully at Ella's golden gaze then relaxed some, her manner assured as she murmurs softly "Try it once more, Ella. Without the distraction, just -focus-."
[22:03] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods "If you are speaking about... uh.. I forget her name... a smallish archer lady? She was the one that helped us by giving us a vial of ichor that we used to track it down.. Oh you can help? That is great news indeed.. I shall remember that... Thank you!", she nods gratefully "I can heal and transfer my blessing to cure but I am not sure how effective that will be against something that vile... It is very kind of you indeed.", she smiles, equally warm in responding to the woman whom she had come to respect and it showed on her face. Ella takes a deep breathe "Alright....", she then focuses on the coin, really deeply concentrating and saying the chant slowly and very clearly. (1/2)
[22:06] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) nods, the effects the same for Meri, though her training had shown her that it -would- work, and she was not averse to ensuring that the blasted creatures would grab no hold of anyone she could protect. Meri'd stay silent though, just watching and waiting, the feel of Magic in the air as Ella started her casting, made Meri's eyes flutter shut, just listening, biting her tongue to prevent the soft hum of her own Magic from joining Ella's. She wouldn't need to see if it worked... she'd know.
[22:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) tips her head forward, silently moving it upward as she continues her chant, the words clear and as they finish, the coin moves up, high and clear, a -tad- bit jittery but it stays afloat about half a feet up from the counter. Ella struggles hard not to exclaim in joy, but like Meri had said, she concentrates, -focus- was key. She narrows her eyes and bends her head down, as if bidding the coin to move down with her head, and it does! Then she slowly moves it left and right... the coin easily moving wherever she willed it to. But after a few moments of this playing around, she lets out a breathe and blinks, letting the coin clatter back to the counter. "Look!! THAT worked!!", she exclaims gleefully, "MANY thanks Meri! I do think I have learned how this works!", she hurriedly reaches into her belt pocket and pulls out the fee of 1 silver and places it on the counter. "Now if only you were aware of how to cast future's defense", she sighs.
[22:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): (2/3)
[22:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun): ** 2/2))
[22:17] Merialeth Windstar (CaireannLiadan) could feel the rush of Magic in the air and hear Ella's elation as Meri's lips spread into a wide smile. her eyes flickering open to peruse the coin moving to and fro as directed and chuckling softly as the coin finally clattered to the counter and Ella cheered. "Told you, that you'd get it..." the soft purr of laughter on her breath once more as she perused Ella's delighted features. "Indeed, I wish I knew it as well, just to ease it - but - I'm sure you'll get it down. There's quite a few I'm still learning myself..." Lettng one hand uncurl from about her waist to motion back at the scroll she'd replaced in the case. "That one, will cause damage over time, on the unlikely opportunity I'm left otherwise weaponless, it will give me a chance to get free." The coin noted with another soft dip of her head and warm murmur of "Congratulations, I do believe you've got it..."
[22:22] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) nods her thanks, the grin still prevalent on her face. Oh how she was going to annoy people with this spell. Especially Bradock. Anyway, Ella bends her head in sincere gratitude to Meri "Now I just have to keep practicing... slowly increase the weight of things that I can levitate... I can see it's usefulness... anything from being a fodder to laziness to ranged combat! I hope I get to use it right!', she nods "Well I shall be off for now then.. and I will check in to see if that Luck Magic Spell you manage to obtain... Again.. I cannot thank you enough for the excellent tutoring!"

RP to count for fighting trait advancement Killing a Shadeling [16:54] Bradock (Katarr) | With the spell completed from the vial of blood that Cedar had gifted to him, the exact location of the Shadeling that had attacked her had become easily distinguishable. And so, he would lead Ella through the woods of the forests within Valesk, ducking beneath branches and crouching as they come closer and closer upon the area. "It's here..." That vial of blood is swiftly placed within a small pouch along his waist so that he could instead, grip the handle of his longsword and pull it free from its sheathe. "My spell says we're right on top of it, be careful, Ella." The usually laid back Bradock gives his wife a singular and serious nod as he would begin to enter the lair of the Shadeling, head constantly swiveling from side to side as he searches the area. [16:58] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) follows Bradock, eyes vigilant as always though she was somewhat noisy, armor clanking and all, never good in the forests but, well she was what she was! She knew he had used the ichor to pin point a location, and as much as the vial made her uncomfortable, she grimaces, crouching as she moved behind him, trying to be even remotely inconspicuous. Nodding as he spoke, she sees him arm himself and does so herself as well, reaching behind her to pull free the polearm and hold it ready for no matter what. She does mumble in a low voice back to him either way. "Shield yourself", for being a battlemage he was not armored as well as her, as far as was her understanding. [17:06] Storyweaver: The area was... actually oddly pure seeming, if anything a sense of calm could be felt as one entered the area. There was a fading white light from a pure white young oak that rested among the others taller trees. These trees, and other plantlife, were heavy will foliage in this area or quite thick compared to the rest of the forest. As if the dying summer's heat and demanding sun meant nothing. Though definitely, by the spell in his system... it was saying here? Right near where the white tree was. This thick wooded area was oddly quiet however, not a chirp nor a squeak nor a twitch or snapping of branch. The cicadas of the island were not singing their afternoon song, which was a tad strange. [17:08] Ella Moraeu rolls R1 (CC:bf59): 88, What lies ahead? [17:08] Bradock rolls Dice (CC:bf5a): 79, Huntsman [17:14] Storyweaver Everything seemed utterly normal, other than the strange quiet of the forest and the white tree nearby. The wind pushes it ways through, causing the branches to sway in a lazy fashion [17:16] Bradock (Katarr) cautiously enters the forested area, his eyes still constantly scanning the area around him. The offset sounds of nature and the pureness of the surroundings seems to cause what was a hint of doubt within the male. "What? I am positive I did the spell right, it should be right here...." The Warden Ranger draws ever closer towards the white tree, the handle of his long sword gripped with one hand as he rests it over his shoulder. As Ella calls out to him regarding his shield, a small nod is tossed over his shoulder. Soon, with an incantation being mumbled under his breath, a light shield made of a clear purple light envelops around Bradock only to vanish just as soon as it came, only to visibly reappear and wrap around the man's body when needed to reinforce his leather armor when needed. (( Mage Shield, Rank 6 )) [17:20] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) looks around, at the eerie calm and the thick forest, the swaying branches and all. The silence seemed to bother her and she was admittedly a tiny bit confused. "This... seems oddly calm to me", she mutters, still having her weapon drawn and she turns around, her back facing Bradock's back, while she tries to get a three sixty view between the both of them. "I don't like this one bit.", the numinous blade mutters yet again, readying herself for this evil being that was -sure- to be around her as his spell had told. [17:26] Storyweaver: It was here, it had to be here. The closer he drew to the pure tree the more it seemed like it was here. The man's magical shield flickered and hovered around him. That's when... an odor, came across. A smell most foul. A rotting smell, like... rotting meat? An aroma of death, in all it's dark glory. The smell was enough to turn ones nose or gag, for such odors are less than pleasant, especially when they are suddenly dealt with. ((Roll shadows for me both of you, pleaaase <3)) [17:27] Bradock rolls Dice (CC:bf60): 26, Shadows [17:27] Ella Moraeu rolls Dice (CC:bf61): 9, Take a BATH shadeling! Shadows [17:31] Storyweaver That aroma filled their noses, pungent and lovely. Mmmm, rotten meat. [17:35] Bradock (Katarr) recoils at the sudden stench that was permeating throughout the area. It was not an unfamiliar smell, yet, one could never quite grow accustom to the odor of rotting meat. For all Bradock's bravado, he was not immune to the simplest things such as an overpowering odor. Any small appetite he may of had rapidly vanishes as his stomach muscles clench beneath his clothing. A single hand places over his stomach as he hunches over ever so slightly. With a mouth suddenly widening, he heaves, as saliva begins to salivate his mouth and drool onto the ground from his mouth being so wide open. And, by some grace of perhaps valeska himself, or the fact that he had not eaten lately, he manages to neither spit up or vomit. In a few moments of being exposed to the disgusting scent, he begins to anticipate the smell each time he inhales through his nostrils, making the smell far more manageable. Rising from his hunched position, the back of his hand wipes away any lingering drool as he gets he regains his composure. [17:35] Bradock (Katarr): "Yeah... there's is definitely a Shadeling here." He claims with his eyes set upon the white tree - the only thing that particularly stood out in the surroundings. [17:39] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) had her back against Bradock's in hope of at least avoiding a sneak attack by having eyes in all directions. Her head whipping left and right as golden eyes with a very good sight kept vigilant lookout for this ... thing. Nose wrinkling as she struggled to fight a gag reflex, more so the memories of the blight. "Ugghhh...", she grunts, almost dry heaving, herself holding the polearm with now only one hand as the other covered her mouth and nose in a valiant attempt to control herself and not just faint from the stench. After long moments of struggle she regains composure enough to just nod, even if he could not see, for she did not want to speak as it involved extra breathing and opening the mouth. She just readied herself instead. [17:46] Storyweaver: As they discussed and tried to not gag valiantly like true adventurers, that was when... suddenly the ground near Bradock and where the white tree lay... it begun to shake! An explosion of dirt throwing up into the air as a inky black tendril, a mixture of vine and tentacle shot out! The area around them had drawn darker, noticeable now for the two. The tentacle whipped around, it stood about 5 feet in all it's glory. Large thorns danced along it's 'spine' and sides, a wicked thing it was. But before much else could be observed it thrashed through the air and attempted to slam into Bradock. ((Now I am going to ask you both to declare your damage and what spells/skill you use at the end of your posts even if you don't hit to make it easy . Like for example. "Medium Damage: 2 points if successful." And please factor out your HP due to armor, magical shielding and IM it to me. <3 so I can tally! The tentacle is attempting to hit for Medium Damage: 2 point if successful.) [17:47] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf62): 127, Gonna try and get that shield! [17:49] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:bf63): 129, Reflex [17:55] Bradock (Katarr) raises one foot and moves it forward to place it along the grassy area before him so he could approach the strange tree. It was the very MOMENT he had placed his foot along the ground beneath him and the grassy area beneath him would rustle - as if on cue. "Wha-?" It was just then the rumbling of the ground beneath his feet causes his eyes to widen. "Ella, move!" Leaping out of the way, the explosion of the spined tentacle would erupt from the earth as Bradock leaps to one side. The appendage just -barely- missing The Warden Ranger's face by less than an inch. "It's here!" Gripping the handle of his blade, he raises the longsword and uses his shifting momentum to swing at the tentacle in front of him in a wide horizontal arch slashing like motion. (( Large Weapon - 3 damage )) [17:55] Bradock rolls R8 (CC:bf64): 147, Fighting [17:56] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf65): 4, No, not sharp objects! [17:57] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) hears and feels the ground shake, and hearing Bradock call out, -immediately- she whips around just in time to see the darkness and the thorny tentacle take a swipe at Bradock, Ella coughs, still struggling against the smell and everything but with a snarl steps to his side and takes a swing at the thing with her polearm, purely acting out of reflex action. ((Resist Evil, and Massive Weapon-Weapons Master- 4 Damage if successful)) [17:58] Ella Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bf66): 34, Fighting Chop tentacle [17:58] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf67): 153, What do I look like, calamari?! [17:59] Creampuff (Xiphophorus): ((Total damage taken by the tentacle this round: 4 damage!)) [18:04] Storyweaver: The tendril is slashed across it's mid by Bradock! Causing a black ichor to seep out of the wound. The smell of rotten meat draws worse as it does so, mixing in an aroma of dying vines. This black substances rolls out of the tendril's injury and it flails around wildly, which it used to get out of the way of Ella. The spiny tentacle points it's 'head' where a single large thorn sits and it then begun to try and pile drive at... Ella! ((Medium Damage: 2 damage if successful!) It could be noticed that the area was drawing darker still around them, the trees surrounding them starting to wilt slightly. The pure white tree in the center's color starts to fade slightly and it's glow lessens. [18:05] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf68): 22, Coming for you Ella. Tendril poke! [18:06] Ella Moraeu rolls R7 (CC:bf69): 22, NO POKEY. [18:11] Bradock (Katarr) feels his blade slice through the thick skin of the tentacle. The black seeping ooze through the creature's tentacle seems to not bother him, what does, is perhaps the smell of rotting meat emanating from the area once more. "Gah!" While the smell grows worse, as does Bradock's determination to destroy the Shadeling. Recovering from the last attack, the longsword raises high over the man's head as the end of the tentacle aims at Ella. The edged blade of the sword soon comes crashing down towards the extended tendril is slice at the anomaly once more - this time in a vertical fashion. (( Large Weapon: 3 Damage )) [18:11] Bradock rolls R8 (CC:bf6c): 39, Fighting [18:13] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf6d): 46, No, don't cut me. What have I done to deserve this?! [18:15] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's swipe misses its mark and she grunts as the black ichor seeps out of the thing. "Grraahhh", she snarls and jumps aside attempting to avoid it and, trying to like.. flank the thing from the other side and bends to a side to avoid the piledriver tentacle. and from below, turns up the blade and in a hook like manner tries to chop off the thing once more (( Same. 4 damage if hit )) [18:15] Ella Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bf6e): 55, Fighting... DIE! [18:15] Prohawk HUD: Rolled R8: (1-180):55 [18:16] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf6f): 106, Y u gotta be so rude. [18:20] Storyweaver: But before either could act, the tentacle swerved! Drawing it's self out more from the ground. It moved back around, like it could see both of them. And one of it's spiny thorny edges trying to line up with... Bradock's body or well his shield! ((Medium Damage: 2 points if successful.)) [18:20] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf70): 168, Whatchu gonna do when the tendril comes for you. [18:21] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:bf71): 50, Reflex [18:30] Bradock (Katarr) unfortunately, feels his blade slash nothing but air as the tentacle gets its swerve on and evades his attack. The sword instead, hits the ground with all the might intended for the tentacle and lands with a soft THUD as it cuts into the ground. Grunting it frustration, Bradock tugs at the handle of the sword so he could pull it free, an attempt which initially fails with how heavily it was stuck in the ground. It requires not only a second tug of the blade, but a conjuring of his might to pull it free from the lodged earth. As he was doing this though, he doesn't quite see the tentacle that not only swerved, but lashes out at him. The tentacle makes contact with the man, slashing at him and making a connection. Except, instead of a physical injury occuring, the shield that Bradock had casted upon his body reappears once more, absorbing the damage of the blow. Nevertheless, Brad staggers back as the shield flickers on and off, nearly draining it in one attack. Instead of attacking, Bradock's hand extends [18:30] Bradock (Katarr): out as the magical energy of the shield reinforces itself to grow from a faint flicker, to a vibrant light once more that vanishes until needed once more. (( Battlemage: Reinforce Mage Shield for 2 )) [18:32] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) was now -extra- mad, she sees the tentacle hurt Bradock's shield as the magical light flickers and she straightens her body, metallic boots hopefully protecting her steps from the black evil blood and the mere presence of the being she was fighting -reaallyy- making her queasy but all that is further translated into an annoyed swing of her massive polearm at the base of the long slimy pokey tendril in hopes of just cutting it off... it -was- calamari in her eyes, evil oversized calamari. (( 4 damage if successful )) [18:32] Ella Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bf72): 135, chop chop again! [18:33] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf73): 137, I didn't come here for a hair cut! [18:40] Storyweaver The tendril slashed and made it's target, the force knocking the man downward. The nasty wicked thorns almost glinting in the lowered light, the tendril then, seemed to simply... but -barely- duck out Ella's way. The nasty abomination that dared crawl out of the earth reared back once more, doing a similar swiping motion as it tried to hit Ella with one of it's nasty thorn spine! ((Medium Damage: 2 points if successful! )) The trees were rotting more and more, the area which had looked so vibrant before now looking sickly. The sounds of their battle echoing back as the only sounds in the forest, or so it felt. The white tree draws darker still, becoming a gray shade, rather than it's pristine pure white. The glow it had been producing fading away entirely... [18:40] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf74): 4, Let me love you Ella. D8 [18:41] Ella Moraeu rolls R7 (CC:bf75): 30, BAHAHA now THAT is love. <3 [18:45] Bradock (Katarr) | As the shield around Bradock reinforces itself, he lets forth a soft sigh of relief, thankful that his line of defense would still hold. He then, briefly glances towards the decaying nearby tree that seems to erode the entire area around him. A narrowing of his is preformed in a glaring motion as he turns his attention back onto the Tenedril. "Ella, that tree, I think it's the Shadeling. We need to cut down this thing down and get to it." The longsword held within Bradock's hands is once more unleashed at the tentacle in a wide horizontal arch just as it had been before to slash, specifically, at the wound he had inflicted earlier upon the tentacle. (( Large Weapon: 3 damage )) [18:45] Bradock rolls R8 (CC:bf76): 108, Fighting [18:46] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf77): 108, I brought a tendril to a knife fight. ;~; [18:50] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) exclaims loudly "Gaaahhh" and ducks the bloody tendril and moved further forward, coughing and spitting to the earth as she felt queasy in approaching the tree as Bradock calls out. The darkness did not matter to the Aasimar, her eyes were blessed with good sight through that stuff, but the mere stench and the evil being making her struggle to not hurl even as she grasps the polearm with both hands to take yet another slash at the tentacle before she could reach the tree. [18:50] Ella Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bf78): 67, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! [18:52] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf79): 36, You rang? [18:52] Creampuff (Xiphophorus): ((Ella hits for 4 damage!)) [19:01] Storyweaver: It dips and dives, it's quite agile for something that should be blind. Or so it seemed. The pole arm slashes into the tendril, causing yet another gruesome wound. The black ichor runs down more, and where it hits the ground... rot starts to appear, leaving the grass black stained and tary. After Bradock shouts another rumbling, as another tendril of similar length and size snakes out of the ground near where the white tree and the large tree to Bradock's right were. This one is completely intact and goes for Bradock! Trying to do that pile drive move! ((Medium damage, 2 points if successful!)) The tree draws darker, now a steely gray tone. It's branches wilting more so. The stench of rotten meat, and dying foliage is everywhere now. Black goop of composing branches drips and plops onto the adventurers below, possibly making it so that they indeed... are going to need a bath after this. [19:01] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf7a): 70, Number 2, coming for you! [19:02] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:bf7b): 96, Reflex [19:06] Bradock (Katarr) was indeed doing to need a bath after this encounter, for he was going to smell of rotting meat and death. As the wily tentacle begins to seemingly drain of it's life before them. Both of Bradock's hands grip at the hilt of the blade. He then lowers the weapon and sets his eyes upon the wilting tree that was spreading the corrupting influence around the area. But, before he could charge it, another tentacle springs up just to his right. The Goddess must of -truly- been on his side tonight while fighting the evil creatures, for he manages to not only see it within his peripheral vision, but preform an easy juke like spin, allowing the creature to rush past him. And, just as it would, Bradock's sword raises within the air once more and slice downwards in a second vertical slash at the tentacle. [19:07] Bradock rolls R8 (CC:bf7c): 159, Fighting [19:11] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) watches as her scythe end cuts off that tentacle and lets out a held breathe before once more spitting to a side and straightening her back to raise the polearm back again, eyes on the tree as ANOTHER one takes a swipe at Bradock and he starts to swing at it. While he was dealing with that, Ella tries to sneak forward, sidestepping that tentacle to try and reach the tree to take a wide swing at its base, if in case Bradock's thought was right and it was the root cause of this vileness, it had to be chopped down! [19:12] Ella Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bf7e): 169, Tiiiimmbbeeerrrr [19:17] Storyweaver: And just like that, the young sapling is easily sliced down. It's It's bark changes to a ruddy brown shade, akin to other oaks it's size. However, it does appear like the bark was indeed rotting and there is a blackness to the core of the tree, making a dark center. The slimy ooze of the rotting trees around them suddenly increases, the trees wilt entirely, causing their branches to hang heavily. The two tendrils... well one was slashed harshly by Bradock as he managed to get the upper hand, suddenly both retreat however, dashing as quickly as they could deep into the holes in the ground in which they came, not moving as fast as they had before and smearing that ichor along the way. The forest looks terrible, pools of rot are starting to bubble near by and gods that terrible aroma is still there. [19:17] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) stood in the brush. She had heard the clang of weapons hitting something, and took a break from her 'apple picking' to investigate. She crouched in the tall grass, eyes wide at the scene before her. The two humans appeared to be hacking at a tree. She gasped in horror, a small hand covering her red lips, and continued to watch the scene, brows now furrowed at the two humans in disgust. [19:19] Gweyr rolls Dice (CC:bf7f): 27, hiding [19:24] Bradock (Katarr) readies his sword once more and intently watches the tentacle before him, awaiting for the appendage to strike out at him. Instead though, it seems to retreat back within the earth that it came from, slinking down like a snake. Briefly Brad lowers his blade to turn towards Ella, who had sliced down the tree that was now oozing black blood from it. "From what Cedar and Cailean told us..." He mutters under his breath, scanning the immediate area around him that was covered by the black blood. "I don't think we've seen this thing's true form yet. Be careful, Ella, it could return at any moment..." So intent upon finding from where this wicked creature may strike from, that Bradock had not noticed the arrival of another to the scene. [19:29] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) coughs, doubling over clutching her stomach as her weakness breaks through the glamor. "Ugh...", grunting and coughing, she rises, still clasping a hand over her mouth while the other held her polearm, she turns to face Bradock with a nod, still slowly turning around as she tries to see in the gloomy and gross darkness. She brings her hand up from her mouth, closing her eyes for the briefest moment possible before opening them only to cup her palm to create a small ball of holy light hovering over her palm, the light able to illuminate a small area around them "It spawned from under the ground, watch out for the ichor... ", she steps around carefully, the second tentacle was not yet chopped off and it paid to be vigilant. She too does not see the figure... yet. [19:36] Storyweaver: The now normal, save for the rot and the black core, young oak lays sprawl. Half it's 'body' laying on the ground while the other half is still in the earth from where Ella sliced it. Like a murder victim, it lays against the earth in a nearly peaceful manner. The forest is still oddly silent, not a crunch of branch nor swish of tail is heard... and then suddenly... a cackling..? A feminine cackle Something soft and eerie. It comes from above, in the heavy dying branches that are thick with leaves... [19:41] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) stood, covering her mouth with her hand, her eyes wide, her other hand clenched into a fist. “Humans, attacking a Blessed Tree…” she grumbled under her breath. Gweyr was now grateful she was in a false form, as she was out-numbered. Perhaps the two ‘murderers’ would be as swift to chop at her branches, and try to kill her. The smell of the Ichor hadn’t even registered as of yet. Hearing the cackle, sounding much like her own, she gasped… could it be? Another Dryad? Gweyr began to pant heavily. She looked horrified, frightened, if the two rangers were to look over or approach, they would see it in her face, but obviously may not understand it was directed AT them, not the tree they had just destroyed. [19:47] Bradock (Katarr) continues to watch the black ichor and the murdered tree before them that, he believed, was the Shadling in disguise - as if expecting for either the blood to react, or for the tree itself to spring to life all of a sudden. Despite how much he prepares himself for the inevitable continuation of the assault, he was not prepared for the eerie lagh that comes from over head. The sound sending a shiver up his spine and for goosebumps to appear along his skin. Bradock's head raises to glance into the trees over head. "Where's that coming from?" From looking from branch to branch to branch his eyes just so happen to fall onto the woman in the distance that was watching in horror. All of a sudden, his eyes began to wide in his own terror. His hand waves away back towards the woman, a continuous motion that was the tell-tale signal of 'go away' without him verbally saying such. [19:50] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) hears the sound, even as she sees a faint feminine figure evidently terror stricken, through the darkness with her golden eyes and she first calls out in that direction, really not thinking twice, "Who is there? Go away!! Save yourself!", before the cackling becomes more evident and she coughs and with a struggle to breathe through the stench she sidles up to her husband and looks up, once more trying to do the whole Mr and Mrs Smith kinda back to back posture thing despite the wings, as one hand still held the ball of light and another held her polearm, neck bent as she looks up finally "The.. the branches... ", she answers him. [19:50] Chione (Bokystroki) is online. [19:50] Storyweaver: And that was when, it came forward from the branches of the taller tree above the two. What was seemingly a humanoid head and torso, the color of ink black and what appeared to be tree like indents in her skin, save for the tendrils that shot off from her body came into view from the branches above. A dryad? It appeared so, but she was far more demonic looking. On her stomach, a massive maw with jagged teeth. She had no nipples or visible genitalia, nor legs instead two dirt-stained tendrils that she had been using to attack with or so it seemed when the tentacle vine numb rested, and still 'bleed'. These were far longer than they had appeared in the ground... Her stomach's maw, was in a sinister grin as was the smaller mouth upon her face, displaying matching teeth. Her golden eyes had mirth in them, her head twisting as her devil's smile. She then spoke in a broken voice, that felt like nails upon a chalkboard mixed with glass, a voice that did not speak common if it rarely did. "Thank." Th [19:50] Storyweaver: sync as it gave that terrible nightmare grin, hissing lightly with the holy light from Ella. [20:00] Bradock (Katarr) | Once the branches of the trees begin to break from above him, Bradock swiftly turns his attention to glance up onto the creature that was descending upon them. "Gods..." And for a moment, Bradock takes a few steps back from the evil being, hand around the hilt of his blade. It takes him a moment to look upon the creature, to absorb the evil that radiating from it, for the Battlemage to steel his nerves. Swiftly inhaling, his chest rises as he releases it in a soft sigh - that putrid stench ignored in the wake of the being. Conjuring what strength he could, Bradock rushes at the creature before them, and, in a diagonal upwards slash, aims the edge of his blade at its waist. [20:00] Bradock rolls R8 (CC:bf80): 143, Fighting [20:00] Bradock (Katarr): (( Large weapon: 3 damage )) [20:01] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf81): 139, NO STABBY STABBY [20:03] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) stumbled back. She dropped the apple in her hand, and as it hit the ground below her, it vanished. It was just a glamour; a simple rouse to help her false form look more believable. Watching what appeared to be another dryad, although much larger and seemingly more powerful that Gweyr, it confirmed her worst fear. She stood there, angry, horrified, yet helpless. She looked over the two humans, studying their faces and features. She wasn’t able to defend what she thought was her kin right now, but she could plot revenge at a letter time. Her eyes welled with tears, she lowered her head. She stepped back, as the male motioned for her to get away, but didn’t leave.. she needed to see what was happening, and get a better idea of who the humans were. [20:05] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) is momentarily transfixed at the sight of -pure- evil. She narrows her eyes, breathing in struggles as she begins to chant an incantation armed and ready yet, but steps to a side to take flight for more accessible distance if necessary and focuses on the demonic dryad as she begins charging some evocation magic. (1/2) [20:10] Storyweaver: As he lunges into the creature, perhaps it's bravado left it unprepared. The blade makes it course, plunging into the creature's belly. (Not the maw) The sword is stained by this point and the direct hit caused a layer of ichor to slide down the blade. ((Bradock roll a Resolve check for me. )) The creature just let out a cackle of a laugh as it drew backwards... and it... The two tendrils that it used to move suddenly lash outwards to other trees and branches, and much like some sort of nightmare monstrosity, this hell dyrad or whatever it was... lunged forward using the tendrils to swing from tree to tree, leaving a icky black trail behind it. It was oddly graceful... but it was bleeding heavily as it moved. [20:11] Bradock rolls R5 (CC:bf82): 150, Resolve [20:18] Bradock (Katarr) draws his blade back as it connects with the creature as intended. He tosses the briefest of glances over his shoulder towards both Gweyr and Ella - the later seeming to be channeling a spell of some sort. "Ella, I need a few minutes, Keep this thing off of me!" And, just as suddenly as Bradock says this, he raises his sword and sticks it within the ground, resisting the shade rot that may of attempted to creep upon his hand. Whatever this creature was trying to do, it fleeing was not an option, for it had lost far more than enough blood for the Battlemage to cast his spell and follow it once more. Now though, both of Brad's hands come together, cupping as he mutters an enchant under his breath that, seems to take no physical affect as of yet. (( Banishment 1/3 )) [20:22] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) sees the tainted ichor and the way in which it crept near Bradock, hissing in anger and just pure disgust, Ella takes flight, putting her was already focused on the dryad thing, her flame bolt charged and ready as she just finally decides that being near that black stuff was just not sensible, and as it swung from tree to tree like a monkey, she yells "Aaaaggghh", and just points the hand holding the ball of light, which now vanishes and is replaced by a sparkling ball of yellow flames that just fwooshes right in the helldryad's direction as it moved. (( medium damage flame bolt )) [20:22] Ella Moraeu rolls R8 (CC:bf83): 168, FIYAAAHH [20:23] Storyweaver rolls R7 (CC:bf84): 27, NOOOOO. [20:32] Storyweaver: This terrible creature slammed into once of the branches, it's grace was lessing but it was moving. The black tar substance smearing across the branch as the creature, but alas it was just enough when. The flaming fire ball was thrown by Ella causing the creature to erupt into flame. A scream, a horrid murderous one that hurt the ears as the creature liquidated as it burned. It thrashed it's tendrils around as it tried to stamp out the flame, but alas... but alas. It only made it worse. Ihe tree it was attached was coated with the black substance as it clung on and violently slapped the flames... spreading them ot the tree it's self. The sight was horrible, like watching a woman being burnt alive but also melting, her features elongating and twisting as she fell apart in darkness. Nightmare fuel? Why yes, like something out of the depths of the abyss. The smell of burning rotting flesh and vine hitting the air as the creature fell apart, melting like some sort of black candle. Pools of the bl [20:33] Storyweaver: was once the creatures body seeped around the now black tree as did large shiny black thorns from the creature's body, the only solid thing that did remain from this graphic display. The dried and dying leaves of the once healthy tree, going up in flames... the smell of fire and the orange substance clearly seen as it begun to burn. It would be noted that oddly silent sounds of the forest resumed with the gentle crackling of flame above. [20:33] Creampuff (Xiphophorus): Pools of the black ichor that was once* [20:40] Bradock (Katarr) continues to channel his spell within his two hands, a bright golden light appearing between his hands as a bright glow engulfs them. His eyes continue to train upon the creature that was rushing away until Ella's flamebolt connects. And in response, the creatures fall to the ground in a sickening death that consumes it. Any other being, the sight would of been saddening to witness. Yet, even as it seems to die before them, Bradock nevertheless continues channeling his banishment spell - whether it was dead or not, it surely wouldn't hurt to attempt to banish whatever evil was within the area - to ensure it would not return. (( Banishment 2/3) [20:45] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) narrows her eyes, struggling to stay aloft in the air as the nasty creature -melts- and falls to certain death, the sight only making her more queasy as she lands on the ground shakily, convulsing and dropping her blade, bending to a side as she retches, out of sheer disgust and anger. The being was vanquished did not mean it was all over, there were surely more around. She struggles, as bile rises from her belly and just spews out of her mouth onto the already disgusting area. For now too weakened and annoyed at the whole episode, she stood aside trying to regain composure as Bradock continued his banishment. [20:47] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) became weak in the knees, and fell to the ground. She would let out a cry of her own as the once graceful creature was set a flame, and erupted and liquefied. She wept in her hands. The Blessed Tree, much like herself had been brutally murdered; her branches cut, her body bleeding and burning. The stench of Death filled the air. She coughed, the scent of her murdered kin filled her nostrils. She watched as Bradock finished his banishment spell, helpless to save her fellow Dryad. It was too late. [20:49] Storyweaver: The inky tar drips down the trees, the wind picks up again... a faint chill on the breeze and then... it begun to rain, a flickering wet substance from the skies about which stopped the flaming tree, letting it quell. But the heavens above did not stop, the rolling sound of thunder could be heard and a flash of lightning dashed across the sky. Though the darkness in the area seemed to lessen some. The chirping sound of cicadas can be faintly heard... as if all was peaceful despite the violent scene surrounding them, or least that showed the terrible battle that had occurred here. [20:57] Bradock (Katarr) | As Bradock's spell comes to fruition, the golden light of the Battlemage's hand extends, palm facing outwards so that the bright golden light could suddenly shoot out at what remnants remained of the shadeling. And if the golden light would successfully do its job, it would eventually, engulf what was physically left of the being with its golden magic in a glowing aura. And, if successful, this aura would begin to dissolve any physical remains of the demons and send it back to whatever realm which it came, until the light itself would fade as well with the remains. Regardless of the result, a long drawn out sigh comes from the male, body visible relaxing. "Fire in a forest was perhaps not your brightest idea, love. But, hell of a good job." He manages with a grin aimed at Ella. Despite his good mood, it was quite apparent that Bradock was drained. [21:01] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) had her palm on her knees and she was bent, her blade lying on the ground beside her as she struggles to stand straight and she shakes her head, breathing heavily and completely tired as she points up to the sky shakily "Rain... ", she mutters and watches as the last of the spell envelopes the remaining of whatever was there of the shadeling and she finaly weakly lifts up her blade and uses it as a walking stick sort of support to lean on it for a moment as she tried to glamor herself back again and the wings shimmer as she trembles in the effort. "Let... let us leave this place..." [21:06] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) would look to the heavens as the rain poured down, The earth too, it seemed was weeping for the lost soul. Gweyr’s dark hair would stick to her pale face, the water would soak her skin and robes, masking her tears. She would stand, a hand placed on her heart as it ached. She would look out to the two humans, eyes wide, mouth agape. She wanted -no- she needed to know what had happened, and why.. but was at a loss for words. She stood there, as the rain washed over her, with a look of pure horror on her face. [21:12] Bradock (Katarr) plucks the sword that had been plunged into the ground earlier and raises it so that he could sheathe the weapon over his back. His head raises, small droplets peck his face before turning to nod in agreement with Ella. But, instead of leaving, he would address the - seemingly - human woman in the distance. "You're okay, right? You didn't happen to touch any of the blood or get hit by anything did you?" Though, he didn't exactly give her time to respond, for his arm raises so that he could wave the woman to follow her and Ella. "We're heading back to Warden's Keep. Come with us, please. I'd like to make sure you're okay." [21:13] Storyweaver: The remains of the shadling was removed, banished in the glowing light of Bradock. The tree, though rotton, now only had it's more natural rot. The pools had been taken away, save again for the natural vegetation rot. The poor tree still was left, chopped apart on the ground. The rain sprinkled down below, the thunder booming off in the distance, but the storm must have been going another way for as quickly as the heavens opened... they closed. Perhaps a sign from the goddess or a random chance of fate. ((And with that, I am going to bounce! I hope you all had fun. <3)) [21:19] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) just nods and looks at the woman, who seemes terror struck, before silently making her way towards the Warden's Keep. Daring to take more bolder breathes and steps as the area cleared up, turning back for one last look at the tree stump. [21:19] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) would pretend to look over herself, knowing full well that she was fine. She looked to Bradock. “I think I am ok..” she said softly, still looking to be in shock. So far, the humans were being it, and were playing into her plan; She needed to see the keep, now that she new they were Wardens, she needed to know where they resided. She nodded to them once more, wanting to follow them to the Keep. [21:26] Bradock (Katarr) makes the trek back to the keep in relative silence as they make their way through the forests, the winding paths of Aberwyth and eventually through the heavy wooden gate. The keep itself held several Wardens, patrolling about and training. Though, Bradock appeared to be in no mood to greet or converse with the other Wardens and instead went straight into the Keep itself until within. "Are you sure you're okay? Just touching that blood could have some really harmful affects." He says to Gweyr before addressing Ella. "We'll need to make sure we wash our blades ad clothes thoroughly, I think some of it might of gotten on my hand when fighting, but, no affect so far. I'm Bradock by the way, and, this is my wife, Ella." The final sentance obviously addressed now towards Gweyr. [21:31] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's breathing improves, that discomfort and queasiness she felt around that unholy shadeling vanishing as she crosses the lush greenery of the isle into Aberwyth and onward into the Keep. She nods in response to questioning glances at their evident state of disarray with mumbled greetings and will talk to you laters thrown at her fellow warden that roamed the Keep. She nods at Bradock and proceeds to unstrap her own weapon and examine it before extending a palm in his direction as if asking to take his sword so that they could be put away. "Aye... I will for now leave it in one of the corner rooms to clean... And we do need to get cleaned up ourselves... and remind me... If I -ever- call you stinky again, to knock myself on the head", she chuckles before turning to Gweyr with a wry grin and a polite nod as Bradock makes the introductions, "I.. err.. am sorry you happened to run into that... It was too deep in the woods, we did not expect other innocuous presence.. Are you.. alright?" [21:39] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) would pay attention to the paths taken, her heart still wept for the blessed tree, and a deep anger burned in her heart, but she kept up her guise. She listened as Bradock spoke, Introducing himself and his wife to her, standing on what looked like a giant tree on the floor of the Keep.. Oh, the irony… Gwyer would nod to them, pushing forward a fake smile. ”Gwendolynn” she lied. “And thank you…” she said, almost gritting her teeth as she feigned gratitude to the humans for killing one of her kin. “She looked over both of them, her eyes still wide and innocent. “I think I am alright.. I wasn’t close enough to be hurt” she said, for which she was grateful; any injury would expose her true nature if they say viscous yellow/green sap coming of her flesh. “What were you doing in the forest?” she would boldly ask, wondering how the whole thing started. [21:46] Bradock (Katarr) | That's not a bad idea, leaving our weapons here." Just as he says this, he begins to unbuckle the long sword from his back and takes a few steps towards the wall to rest it against the stone structure. And, even though he did not use his short blade, he unbuckled that as well so it could be cleaned another day. "I'm sorry we had to met on such difficult terms, Gwendolynn." A small smile appears along his features before it swiftly begins to fall at her question. "We had heard reports of a creature that had been stalking the forests, corrupting the area and attacking travelers. We were pretty sure it was a Shadeling, a type of Demon that attacked Valesk a few years back. We were right, that creature Ella and I killed, was one of them." [21:54] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) quirks an eyebrow as Bradock chooses to lean his sword against the wall while she was waiting open palmed to accept it. She shrugs, dropping her hand down to a side, and turns to Gwendolynn "Well we were specifically in search of that shadeling to put an end to it, after the reports we heard of such beings in the forest... If you do reside anywhere near the forests it would be wise to exercise caution... In fact I can ask of you the same, what made you foray that deep into teh woods? Whatever it may be, it is unwise, as you very well saw... Please stay cautious and safe", she would nod and add "Let me put this away" and heads to a room in the corner to place her own polearm safely, while doing so she makes sure she checked every bit of it, and for good measure picks up a small tankard of water, taking the time to pray and bless it in the process so whatever taint may be there on either of their clothes or weapons, could be washed away to make sure they were safe from it. [22:01] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) nodded, listening to Bradock speak of the Shadeling. It was hard for her not to defend the demon, to empathize with it.. but instead replied with “ A creature.. stalking the forests? How horrible”. She looked over his face, taking in his features, committing them to memory. Then her eyes darted over to Ella as she did the same. Watching her carefully wash her blade as she lectured Gweyr about the forest..HER forest. “ I appreciate your kindness, and your advice” she said, nodding to Ella. Gweyr would smooth out her still wet skirts, and tug the clingy, thin fabric from her chest. “I should get home, where I am safe..” she said cryptically. There would be a glint in her eye, that if caught by either one of them, would make then feel uneasy, as if something was off about the girl. “I bid you a good night, Ella, Bradock” she said with a nod, as if speaking their name aloud again to remember them. She moved to the door of the keep, wanting to get back to the forest to see the damage up close [22:10] Bradock (Katarr) arches an eyebrow out of curiosity as the woman seems to dodge Ella's question and suddenly be in a hurry to leave. But, Bradock did not seem quick to stop her. He would only shallowly nod back to her. "You're surprisingly calm after seeing your first Shadeling. Be safe out there, have a good evening." [22:12] Ella (MaiaCalhoun) 's head was bent, as she clasped the water, the water taken from a pitcher that was supposedly that from around the shrine of Valeska. Ella prays further, not really sure if it was necessary but it was shadelings and she was not taking any chances. Finally rising, she sprinkles the water on her weapon and brings the water to the front area where Gwendolynn and Bradock stood. She nods as Gwendolynn speaks, just softly narrowing her eyes as she thought she saw a sort of mischieveous glint in her eyes, well Ella was tired and not too perceptive and she shrugs, "Good night... Take care Gwendolynn", she would add, curious at the woman's reaction but more pressed to sprinkle blessed water on Bradock for the moment than anything else. Ella's memory was poor, but she would hopefully remember Gwendolynn's face, if not her name. [22:15] Gweyr (dejaslut Vyper) slipped through the door, knowing she had to get out of there before their questions were too hard to dodge. She closed the heavy door behind her, and walked calmly into the dark of night, an evil grim creeped over her red lips...
