The prey had returned, as did the ships, and the darkness left the forests - but Dirk, the man who had claimed her as his wife in battle, had not returned. My lady felt pain in the heart, like a dragon's claws pressing her chest. She has to decide, and soon, if she would venture to his folk in the high, permafrozen north, or return to her own in the deserts of the Farlands. Alone, without family, without clan, raising his baby in the winter on the island would be lethal!
[05:09:21] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) had returned home after freeing the manta rays from the dam caused lake in the Innawoods. She yet does not know how they got there, but does not shed a single thought about that either. Nevertheless she had planned to return to that spot. There had been an idea, that would suit her plan, yet from the times when no ships arrived at the harbor of the island anymore. She does not even know that the ships are back - due to feeling bad feelings, unknown to her from her prior life, in regards to Dirk, she had rather withdrawn to her cave, had went out only to work or to meet the Ocean Priestess. Love she had not known other than by tales before, and that it could be a really painful feeling not even by tales. She was irritated from this pain in the chest. She had missed him, she still misses him. And it hurts, it cramps her heart so much, so often, that it even now and then presses tears from her eyes. It feels like a mean monster cramping its claws around her heart or chest and squeazes with all its strength.
[05:14:39] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) returns to where the lake had been, through the dangerous, scary dim light beneath the tree foliage of the underbrush. Strange sounds, shadows moving about between the trees in the distance. She is not afraid, but she is more careful than usual, careful for two. She finds the lake after a while, or where the lake had been. Now it is only a joining of two riverlets anymore that come from the valleys between three hills. Where the water had been there's mud now, the grass trampled or drowned before. She walks around the area, to where the dam had been. The wood and most stones she had removed, but the trunks had not been carried far from the lake area. She follows the joined river, far, towards the ocean shore, finding on her way only one of the huge manta rays, dead from choking after being stranded. The others had been carried to safety by the small tidal wave that came with the dam removed.
[05:20:18] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) feels the sand of the shore under her feet. She wears only sandals with knee high straps holding them at her feet and legs. The sand presses soon through between her toes, and it feels cool, wet, so different to the hot, dry and fine sands of the deserts she hails from. That sand had the strength to grind the sewings of boots, this one does not have such strength. She looks about the area, how the ocean waves gently wash over the brinks of the shore, just to withdraw right after. The ocean again seems so eternal to her, just like the deserts of her home had been - though she knew that there was settlements at oases, as well as on the other side of the desert. They had crossed the harsh, searing hot deserts often to raid those settlements. It had been good times. She now nods though, slowly, with her plan forming. She walks back up the river.
[05:26:37] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) had brought her huge axe this time, fastened to her back, atop her trusted sword. The first mid sized tree that had formed the dam until the day before. She grabs the trunk by a branch, and begins to pull, push it towards the shore. She should build some kind of transportation device, but she has only her plan in her mind now, and that does not include beams to roll the trunks or carts or likewise. Sturdily she puts one foot in front of the other, pushing, dragging the first trunk step by step like that, until she finally arrives at the shore. For now she places this first trunk onto the middle of the shore, then returns up the river.
[05:31:09] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) gets the next trunk, a heavier one this time. The process is much slower, far more exhausting. She works so hard that she at a point even feels a warm trickle run down the inner side of her thighs. With the belly she cannot use all her strength as good, and with the sixth month of the pregnancy nearly over, the belly really hinders her. She looks up to the sky for a while, kneeling where she had shoved the trunk to. She shakes her head, feels the cramp in her chest again. "Dirk, why you leave Shayra? Shayra should fight aside Dirk! Dirk no fight alone anymore! Now you sit with goddess, and Shayra work alone! Dirk pause feast soon, look from valhalla on baby! Shayra gift Dirk a baby, Dirk will be proud!" She calls up to the sky, "Shayra is proud of Dirk, for Dirk strong and honorable, good warrior! Shayra no doubt die honorable." The tears run down her cheeks, freely, she holds her belly with one hand, wipes her face with the other. She knows she must continue to work, she may not cry about a loss.
[05:34:18] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) stands up again after a while. Her legs already ache from the work, just as the chest hurts from the emotional pain. She takes her axe from her back, and begins to slam the weapon onto the wooden trunk, roughly at the half of it, to cut it in two. Half an hour later she is done, and indeed the dragging and pushing works much better now. It is still heavy work, but easier to manage. A while later both halfs of the trunk lay on the beach also.
[05:40:57] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) brings back yet four more trunks, two thick and two thin ones. With that she needs a pause, all her muscles sore and she sits down in the sand, panting for breath, exhausted. For a better hour she rests, then gets up again. Sand sticks on her legs and rear, tickling her. But she does not mind, grins a bit about this feeling for a while, then though gets back to work. She hacks the trunks into each about twenty feet long parts, except for the thinner trees, which she hacks into twelve feet long parts. Finally she lays the short pieces with a bit of space between onto the sand, then the bigger ones on top of them, across. She tilts her head, wondering. Something is missing, and it takes a while to find out. She slaps her sweat wet palm onto her likewise wet forehead. The salty water runs down all her body, and bark bits and sand meanwhile glue all over her. She had forgotten something to bind the trunk parts together.
[05:45:24] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) goes back up to where the river has its delta into the ocean, seeking for reeds, but there are none. She has to walk up further the river, but all the length of it she does not find any reed. So she has to go further back into the Innawoods, to find lianes and likewise plants, long grass leafs, bendable long twigs, and collect that. Again she has to be careful, so that none of the mysterious dwellers, the monsters of the Innawoods, just jumps her. It is near evening already when she returns with enough of what she can use as rope - to go back to her cave and return with ropes the next day she had not even thought about.
[05:51:51] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) returns to the site of her makeshift raft. She binds the wooden trunk parts together, tight and secure. Her muscles already allow her to bind ropes really tight, and for the base raft she just considers to have to fasten them well. The yokes for the oar she binds to the raft more flexible, yet as a stable tripod. Finally she also works - meanwhile under the stars anymore - a makeshift wooden shelter onto the middle of the raft, from the branches of the trees and the remains of the trunks, better ten feet long, five feet wide, six feet high. She separates a little chamber deep in the shelter, so she can store supplies there and won't have it washed out on the heights of the ocean. It is deep in the night, and she is dead tired, exhausted from the day long work. Pregnant, working alone, she just cannot move a single step anymore. So she instead crawls into the makeshift shelter, to curl up there, and moments later she sleeps tight, with the ocean waves clashing rythmically onto the shore...
((Later the day...))
[11:46:11] Sira'Kess swam about the cove, a smirk on his face as he thought of recent events. His dorsal would break the surface every now and then as he felt no danger here and didnt really care if landers saw him for now.
[11:51:25] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) had just returned after having slept in what she had built on the shore at the ocean past the Innawoods. She is rested, but her body is still carrying the results from the hard work - bark bits and sand glued all over her by sweat. She goes straight to the river and crouches down there at the brinks of it, begins to wash herself, above and under the warming furs she had draped about her body. She sees a shark fin appear, at first only from the brinks of her eyes and missing it when really looking a few times, then directly. Of course she thinks about Sira'kess - as she had long not seen any other sharks around this part of the river. She splats her flat palm a few times onto the surface of the water. "Shark man! Guard of Ocean Priestess!" She calls out over the waters, not sure if he would understand, but neither doubting it would be him. She is simple enough to not consider all options anyways. "Blood and honor! Shayra greed mer shark!"
[11:58:48] Sira'Kess snapped himself out of his thoughts at the sound of the water being slapped at. He'd chide himself later for not being more careful but for now he had little care. He would send the Barbarian a small smirk as he saw her before dipping under and coming closer. He broke the surface near the lily pads and smiled to her in greeting. "It has bee long Shayra. How fair you?" The mer continued swimming on the surface near the woman.
[12:03:04] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) gifts the mer man a toothy wide smile as he surfaces. "Been long time, yes, too long." She replies to his words, "Shayra good, but belly bigger and bigger, make work hard, and Shayra have much work." She tells that in a tone that holds not much frustration in regards to work, not even in regards to the missing fights. Then though the tone gets filled with sadness, a very rare occurrence for her who usually does not show weaknesses like sadness or similar. "Shayra have many pain lately, like big claw pressing chest, pressing heart. Prey returned, but Dirk did not return. Shayra think he died. He was strong and honorable, good warrior. Shayra should be happy, Dirk now feast with goddess. But Shayra feel heart pain."
[12:10:22] Sira'Kess cocked his head to the side at her words. "I'm sorry for your hurt. Heart pain hurts most." The hunter was at somewhat of a loss for words. In a rare instance the Hunter showed genuine care as he reached out for the pained woman's hand. "Have happiness Shayra, He watches over you. He watches over your child." The hunter would smile lightly before he'd sink back into the water.
[12:13:40] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) nods solemnly at his initial words. "Yes, hurt worse than sword cut." She confirms and accepts his hand. But then she already gets a wicked grin onto her lips. "And Dirk better watch child! Is his child! Dirk bested Shayra in battle, then Shayra Dirk's wife, have duty gift Dirk child!" She explains in her crude barbarian dialect in the common tongue, "if he no watch child, Shayra go valhalla for him, punch his mug, punch his snout! Shayra swear!" Now how she could do that is beyond her, but the words are spoken as if that was a simple trip for fury infused wifes.
[12:19:45] Sira'Kess laughed at her threat as he began to dip below the water. "I fear you could. An angry wife to be feared." The hunter shot her a playful smirk as her thought she of all actually could bash down the gates of Valhalla, not that he knew what that was or anything. His eyes widened as if remembering something. "Game has returned then, you will not go hungry then?"
[12:25:19] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) laughs out heartily, merrily. Yes, if Dirk is dead, it must been in a challenging hard battle. For anything else she sees no chance. And if he died in such, there is nothing to mourn about. Yet it still hurts, but showing that much in public? No! "Shayra is strong and honorable, fierce warrior even with babybelly!" She proclaims, "Shayra go where Shayra wish! Slay whom Shayra wish dead!" Which is basically her style of living, especially with her former clan. "And yes, prey return, forest no dead anymore, no stink. Prey returned, but Dirk did not return...." She was apparently sure that he had gone hunting and followed the prey whereever it ran to. "Shayra can hunt, must hunt. Wyvern meat no good long." She tells, looks then though somewhat into a distance. "Shayra had found lake, lake with big fishes, flat, triangle fish, with long tails." She explains likely manta rays, "Shayra free them from lake. They return ocean." She does not know if they had been caught there by coincidence or captured there and locked away from the ocean, and she had no time - or had not thought about - consulting the Ocean Priestess about it.
[12:32:24] Sira'Kess cocked his head to the side at her explanation of the fish. "Triangular fish?" He thought a moment then arched an eyebrow. "Did they swim by flapping?" He held his hands out and waved them in a graceful motion up and down.
[12:35:01] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) nods firmly at that explanation. "They swim like water flying." She explains further about that. "Was surely five big fishes, one die, strand on shore. Shayra not know why lake.... why big fishes in lake." She had seemingly forgotten why she had been initially here at the river. Still quite some sand and bark and other wooden chips glue on her body.
[12:41:51] Sira'Kess had a look of surprise. "Oh, you mean Manta Rays. Yes, they fly in the water. They're very graceful." His brow furrowed a moment as he noticed all the aftermath of her building encrusting her body. "Shay'ra, you are covered in bark and sand." A bemused look on the Hunter's face.
[12:44:56] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) shrugs at first. She does not know the name of the species manta ray. "Shark man know, if want make good gift, gift for Ocean Priestess: Shark man capture fly fish, tame, so Priestess can ride!" She suggests to him instead. Then she looks down herself. "Oh, Shayra must break big dam, so Shayra free fly fish. Then Shayra cut wood, on beach, make float... no.... make.... draft.... no...." She falls silent for a moment, thinking. She is not good with ocean vessels being from a desert. "Raft, yes, Shayra make big raft. No ships come island, so Shayra make own."
[12:52:28] Sira'Kess laughed as he thought of the Siren trying to ride a manta then shook his head. "I gave her a gift; her crown, I gave it too her. As she went on he looked confused a moment as she attempted to find the words. "Trade ships have come back. One was in a few days ago." The hunter waved towards the harbor before dipping under the waves to resurface a moment later.
[12:55:23] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) cocks her head. "Ships back? Good!" She means, dry in tone, about that. Yet she can really imagine the Ocean Priestess to ride on such a huge animal. "Crown good gift, but mount means make complete. Make Priestess a queen, then give royal mount! Then you sure become king." She muses in her crude, commanding tone, though her lips twitch from amusement about her oh so good idea.
[12:56:34] Nixie (adalori) came up out of the water like it wasn't a big deal, stretching as toes hit the rocks and sand and wrinkling her nose at the odd feeling. She smiled a bit at the pair chatting on the shore, padding over with a wave of her hand to the female. "Greetings Shayra!" catching that last part with a tilt of her head, casting her pale gaze between the two of them with an arched brow. "Hello Sira'Kess." she'd smirk in a 'so what are you talking about' manner.
[13:01:54] Sira'Kess had a bemused look on his face as he noticed the Siren as she exited the water. A heated look would come over his face as she dressed which in and of its self was odd since he was a Mer and had accepted nudity as a fact of life being a shape changer but there was always something about her that got his blood running. He'd ignore her smirk mostly hoping she'd forget about it and move on. He dipped down then resurfaced after she'd finished. "Idani" He'd tip his head ot her. "Off for more tea?"
[13:04:41] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) looks over as she hears the alluring, melodic voice of the Ocean Priestess. She stands up, still some bark, wooden chips and sand gluing on her body. She had totally forgotten that she had come to the river to wash from work done priorly. She turns to the Priestess and lifts her hand in greeting. "Blood and honor, Ocean Priestess! May goddess watch battles happy!" She booms over the shore towards the Ocean Priestess. She misses the heat in the body of the shark man, but she would consider them a couple already anyways. And she charges, verbally now! "Ocean Priestess! Shayra say Sira'Kess make queen! Give fly fish mount! Mana Ree mount! Noble fly under water, fly like eagle in sky. Royal mount!" She states that as command, as usual, and as if that was already decided - at least by herself - that Sira'Kess would care for that.
[13:13:07] Nixie (adalori) tilted her head, "Shayra, I am already Queen." she chuckled softly, moving closer. Speaking of battles.. as she walked closer it would easy for the barbarian woman to see the harsh scarring on her torso. What looked like deep scratches scarred over and a bite mark would be visible on her flesh. She didn't catch the look of the male, mostly because a flush on blue skin was neigh impossible to see from the distance she was. "You look like been busy." she'd talk to the barbarian woman as little bits of earth and tree fell from her form. Though, she did seem to perk slightly as the female spoke of Manta Rays "Very beautiful creatures." dumb as a box of rocks though....
[13:25:30] Sira'Kess dipped under and let the change begin before surfacing among the reeds. He rooted around a bit for his clothes then gave a satisfied smirk as he found them and began to dress. Afterwards he'd look to the Siren as a somewhat somber look hit him. He raise his hood up before he looked to Shayra. "Shay'ra I have to tell you something." He'd gesture to the Sirens' scars "Ocean priestess was attacked by Garou, One of them bit her here" He'd point to her bit mark. "Their leader in fact. I have taken revenge on her already." He gestured to the cord around his neck which had a pair of fangs dangling from it. "These were hers before I took them. I tell you because she cannot know who I am. She didn't see my face, she doesn't know my name. When we are among Landers call me Hunter if you must. Do not call me Sira'Kess on land." The hunter had a very serious look on his fate. But it was one of urgency and importance.
[13:31:07] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) laughs out loud at the news of the Ocean Priestess being also Ocean Queen. That would be difficult to combine into the brief sentences she can speak anyways. And indeed she sees the wounds on the woman. "Ocean Priestqueen fight? Make good battle! Ocean Priestqueen won! Very strong, much honor!" She states about that. The fact alone that the priestess yet lives must stand for her having won, at least enough to drive away her enemy. Where she comes from rarely a defeated real enemy who would cause such wounds would leave alive if possible. She also steps closer to the Priestess, to slap her palm firmly onto the woman's shoulder to compliment her, buddy style, near as strong as the men of her clan would do - a pixie would be squished flat by that. "Shayra work, break dam, free fly fishes. They now in ocean again, so Sira'Kess can capture, make mount for Ocean Priestqueen." She proclaims, "Royal mount honor fighter Priestqueen!" Then though the shark man comes, as human, out of the water. She turns to him as he begins to speak, gets the seriosity of his tone and his initial announcement. It makes it clear for her that she has to focus. That the garou leader does not know who he is though is lost on her, despite best concentration, yet she gets that the other had not seen his face, does not know his name - and does not understand that for another reason. She though draws her blade. "No attack Ocean Priestqueen! No attack and live! Shayra slay big wolf, Shark man come fight too!" She roars in sudden erupting fury, sheer bloodlust displaying in her eyes, the sparkling of rage. "Shark man make wolf bleed, make lay in blood! Then scream name in face! No honor hide name! Shark man strong, fight hard! Shayra fight aside Shark! Kill big wolf!" Yes, she really wants to go right now, even though she is not even dressed in her battle garment.
[13:41:44] Nixie (adalori) felt her knees nearly buckle under that slap, she winced, hissing slightly at the suddenness of it though, at this point she had realized that the barbarian was a very blunt, touchy, person. So she didn't take offense at the 'blow' though she would rub her shoulder as Sira'Kess spoke, sighing softly and giving him a 'now you've done it' look. "Wolf has been punished. Revenge has been taken, Shayra." she'd try that, though it wasn't necessarily revenge in the, hey I separated your head from your body sense, it was a much more personal blow and rather underhanded at that, taking the fangs from a creature that drank blood... But it wasn't a lie, revenge -had- been taken. Hopefully that was enough to calm the barbarian from going and killing all the wolves she saw... though boy wouldn't that be amusing...
[13:48:34] Sira'Kess sighed, "Damn the Tide." he shook his head as he pulled his mask up. "Elka is licking her wounds. She will not attack, yet anyways." He simply shook his head and leaned against the rocks as he adjusted the armor he now wore and glanced at Shay'ra. "At any rate, don't call me Sira'Kess. Call me Hunter, or shark man if you must." He looked to the Siren now, "So, where are we going since you don't walk around on your feet for no reason."
[13:50:58] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) growls angered, far from being calmed. "No one attack Ocean Priestqueen! Shayra fought Priestqueen honor once, battle again! This time make wolf die, make pelt at fire place!" She roars out further, making not much secret from her desire. The Priestess gets a hard, grim look, with nostrils flaring between the anger glittering eyes, and lips being drawn into a frown beneath. "Mer folk make blood market! Now only pull teeth? Mer folk be stronger! Villagers are cowards! Mer folk not cowards! Make real revenge!" This time it is really a command, a demand likewise. Why people would snuggle and caress their enemies on this island is beyond her, totally, even if that cannot really be said to have been done by the mer folk even this time. Maybe it has to do with the title (she herself assigns often): Queen? Had Dirk still been alive or else not missing, and if they had managed to form a real clan, she would been Barbarian Queen, and a blood drawing one for sure. At the words of Sira'Kess then, she points her blade bluntly towards him. "You say right!" She roars, still furious, "she no attack Yet! Next time she attack, she attack more smart! Make ambush, make fatal! Mer Folk no be stupid! No be coward! Put wolf in blood, once and for all, end them! Make their pubs lament! Make those pets, so never can attack anymore! One mistake too many! Shayra help slay them all!"
[13:59:23] Sira'Kess sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He was not helping. He chose to remain silent before stirring the barbarian woman into a frenzy. No good could come from that situation.
[14:09:52] Nixie (adalori) looked back at Sira'Kess her gaze agitated at the position she'd been forced into. She thought now about what she knew of the barbarian woman, gaze flickering over the angry female. So much anger and conviction behind her simple beliefs, so much passion displayed in everything the woman did, the experience she'd had with Shayra told her that it would be foolish to try to sway her from her bloodbath with talk of peace. Even to tell her to wait for a more opportune time would be dicy... conniving, manipulative creature that she was she was trying to figure out the best way to handle this situation. "Ocean Priest-queen... want make revenge herself. Want fight herself." her tone was firm, commanding and echoing loudly off the stone around them, letting the power of her voice enter it to try to get her point across, her usual neutral expression was quite cold and determined "Shayra no take Priestess kill." she growled the words out, there wasn't hostility displayed at Shayra. But at the situation, and the wolves, perhaps a little agitation and anger being shown rather than her normal calm neutrality would assist. Then again it might also get her smacked and she was preparing for that possibility too.
[14:20:01] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) rips her gaze over from the shark man to the Ocean Priestqueen. A long, really long, grim gaze burning into the face of the siren. Then finally a firm nod comes, and she sheathes her sword. "Shayra no take Priestqueen kill!" She announces, understanding the will to restore honor, to show strength, to fight a challenge, behind the wish of the Priestqueen - and surely to get her real revenge. That is acceptable for her. "But if go, call Shayra, Shayra come, hold Priestqueen's back save!" A command and promise in one perhaps, or a wish to partake in that battle. She does not like those giant wolves, not at all. Three more months and a few days it would be, too, until she is a mother holding a baby on her arm, a fight after that might be better - yet fights of her clan usually were decided about with one week before being executed.
[14:32:02] Nixie (adalori) narrowed her eyes as Shayra took much longer than was comfortable so to sheath that sword.... but when she did, and spoke, Nixie nodded her head, her expression still serious and determined. "Will call Shayra. Will be glorious battle." ya know, provided she wasn't jumped like last time... She'd keep her commanding stance for a few more moments before relaxing back into her normal cheerful neutrality. Glance cast back at Sira'Kess to finally answer the question he'd asked before. "I was going to get tea. From the elves." at least that was her plan, maybe finally finding some honey.
[14:38:11] Sira'Kess held a hand out indicating he would lead on as the Hunter just shook his head and made his way up the rocks. He turn his head talking to Shayra as he went on. "When will the baby come, it must be soon. Your belly is giant!" He'd pick his way through the woods finding the path that led to the Vale.
[14:42:27] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) nods about that battle now. Such battles are good, about all battles are honorable, so all battles are good. And she is content that the Ocean Queenpriestess is not as undecided and coward as she had perceived the White Queen of the village. Should she ever see that guardsman mageling again, she would likely flail him into his blood no matter where and when that meeting would be! "Ocean Priestess good plan, make Elflings ally, for big war against wolfs!" She confirms though the further talks directed at Sira'Kess, mistaking the intend likely. Not sure at first if she is meant to follow them though, she finds the man talking to her while already walking. So she steps out, yet caring to stay behind or aside the queen to protect her more closely. She tries to calculate on her fingers though while following. Six is just one too many for her counting and calculating skill. But as it is too much for her, it must be something between one and four more months. "No many moons anymore, then baby come." She replies finally - the time it took to reply might have nearly been mistaken as if she had not heard the question in the first place. "Shayra seen woman this big!" She shows with her hands how big the belly will likely get yet, "with one baby, but like this...." she shows more, "with more than one baby." That she, hence, will likely only get one baby she cannot conclude.
[14:49:09] Nixie (adalori) chuckled softly. Yes, gathering allies was a good thing. She listened as they walked, Shayra speaking of that belly getting even bigger and Nixie just... kind of staring. She laid eggs, the idea of carrying a living creature inside her just creeped her out.
[14:53:37] Sira'Kess led the way through the woods tot he path and stairs to the Vale. As always the hunter had his eyes looking to the tree lines. He chuckled a moment as he looked back and caught the Siren staring at Shay's belly. He'd look back to Shay a moment before continuing on, "You should let her feel the baby move Shayra." A small smirk showing under that masked hood of his.
[14:58:50] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) misses the stare of the siren, herself unable to imagine to lay eggs - as if she would be a hen and a cock would just spray his juice over them? Babies growing on plain sand or rock? Beyond her much like vice versa for the siren likely. "Shayra baby strong! Good legs, good fists!" She tells, basically meaning that the motions of the baby are pretty well to be felt when it starts again, which is usually when the mother is somewhat stressed, with increased blood pressure, or random. Currently, with the talks about battle and revenge so soon ago, she does feel the kicks really well. And she would not object to stop and let the Ocean Priestqueen feel her belly, the muscles hard under her skin, the skin still spanning tightly over them. Else she keeps following the hunter aside the queen.
[15:07:27] Nixie (adalori) was perplexed but at the gesture of Shayra and the words of Sira'Kess she would lay her hand on the bulging stomach of the female. Only to jerk it back sharply after a few moments with a wide eyes look. Just barely stopping herself from blurting out something along the lines of 'you have a parasite!' "It is moving!" she peered now at the belly and got her face right up in there to see if perhaps the skin was being pushed as well because well... yeah it was just weird to her. But Sira'Kess was leading them onwards and she followed with just a glance or two back at Shayra's stomach. When they made it to the Vale she noted the new gate, striding through and sticking her head in the large hall of the elves to see if Emmaline was perhaps around, after investigating and finding she wasn't the Siren would purse her lips and frown slightly... Wait!! Didn't she mention something about it growing around here somewhere? Mint leaves... she remembered the smell maybe she could find them again.
[15:13:35] Sira'Kess chuckled as she recoiled from the child's movement. As they arrived, the Hunter wandered about the courtyards of the Vale as she attempted to find her Mint. "If she is not here I believe she mentioned it grew behind the seamstress's shop. You could try there"
[15:15:06] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) laughs out at the experience of the siren. Given, when she had first felt the kicks, then put her hand there and felt it also in her palm, she had reacted much alike. She had felt it on other women, but never on herself before. She finishes that laughter with a broad grin. "No parasite! Child be strong warrior! Maybe walk self three years, then get first sword!" She announces, commands, swears a holy oath, narrates the custom of her folk. "Learn fight then, learn work, get stronger! Slay lion with twelve!" She goes on. She cannot count to twelve, it is something others had told her, and at a point it had always happened, as others could count far better. "And if no strong enough, if lion no kill child, Shayra slay child. Weak is worthless! Shayra killed lion that age, Shayra child slay lion then! And soon after, slay first man! Then child full warrior, go raid, go slay, go enjoy women!" She assumes and hopes it will be a son, though if it is a girl, the child will just enjoy men, no big thing. She follows further to that big house, never having seen such a beautiful and clean house. Beautiful is strange - will it be save against climate and enemies like that? She lets the others talk though, not understanding it, not knowing what they really seek. Her thoughts are with the future of her child now anyways.
[15:21:39] Nixie (adalori) shook her head at the both of them before moving around to search for that mint. Nodding her head at Sira'Kess' words and turning from the doorway. Moving around to go look at where the shop was. "Shayra know what mint is?" she'd attempt to include the barbarian woman in their hunt for the plant as she attempted to sniff out, quite literally, that mint.
[15:27:15] Sira'Kess sauntered behind the shop and knelt among the leaves. He'd brush away the leaf-litter in an attempt to find some. He'd never actually seen mint when not in a cup so it took him a few tries before taking up small leaf and rubbed it on his fingers smelling that subtle sweetness. He'd stand and move to the corner looking for the Siren. "Found some."
[15:29:24] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) thinks a while, then nods. "Shayra know! Is plant, desert people from cities have, put in hot water. Smell strange, no good as grog, as ale!" She tells. She does not really know the value of it, then though she knows the value of least things. Some of her folk had looted such herbs on raids and sold it later. She never cared. And she only knows it as leafs put into tea, not as plant that grows somewhere actually. Curious she looks as the shark man - hunter - already found some of it. "They hide in grass trash? Why put grass trash water.... hot water?" She asks, now confused as why would anyone put something that is found amongst dead leafs into hot water and drink that in addition? Even the sheer thought of that makes her already pale around the nose.
[15:35:55] Nixie (adalori) padded around the side of the shop as the hunter found the mint. Shayra's words previously about slaying lions and men making her ponder a bit about little mer babies. Though she was more interested in the mint leaf and knelt in the leaf litter. "Is plant. Grows from ground. Smell good. Taste good." she'd explain to Shayra. Likely not so good as some exotic exported thing but the Siren hadn't yet had the chance to try something like that.
[15:42:06] Sira'Kess picked at the mint, uncovering more and more as he went through the good ones. Decayed mint leaves would likely be very unappreciated. "They leaves protect the plants from the frost like a big blanket." The hunter came to a stand holding out a small palm full of the leaves out to the siren, maybe enough for a cup or two.
[15:46:31] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) wrinkles her nose. Given tea likely tastes really good in the tents in the deserts, but she had never really tried. She had drunken beer, ale, mead, grog, different wines and else just milk and water. She had never drunken fruit juices as fruits are there to be eaten, not drunken. Coffee or tea are for her drinks of over civilized weaklings - in other terms: raid targets. "Only talking people drink such. No good, no strong, smell for talker people, no fighter people." She grunts about that tea. "Why seek such? There be better drink! In tavern! If ships back, they sell ale and grog! Much better! Wine! That be good to drink!" She regards the plant, not finding anything special in its looks, and not able to smell it by the distance. She looks and listens then to the hunter, quirking her eyebrows. "Leafs dead! No protect!" She objects, "island bad, very cold already! Where Shayra come from, sun is hot all day, really hot! Small difference hand in fire, so hot!" The mood goes further south for her as it seems. "And trees weak here, trees die, leafs die. Trees in oasis strong, green all year!" May the gods beware the lands of early snow, that would likely drive her nuts at first. She had never seen snow, also an autumn is quite alien to her already.
[15:52:27] Nixie (adalori) perked up at the retreival of the leaves. She was sure to botch her first attempt at a cup... listening as Shayra spoke of her land and Nixie tilted her head a bit. "Would be good live in water. Such heat." Nixie was in the same boat, relativly speaking, as Shayra. Having always been in the open ocean for the changing of seasons, only now had she run across the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees. Though... "Is that stuff drink in Shayra home?" she'd ask, still not so experienced in the alcohol business and gesturing for Sira'Kess to keep the leaves, still crouched down on the ground, basically smelling her way to the mint leaves as she sifted through the orange and brown leaf litter.
[15:56:18] Sira'Kess smirked as she went about picking at her own mint the hunter stuck some in a pouch around his waste before brushing his hands off and smelling the remnants of the Mint oil on his hands. He'd smirk and laugh as he saw the spectical of the Siren, Butt in the breeze and shook his head before leaning back against the shop.
[16:00:17] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) grins at first. Then though she turns serious again. "Desert have only few water. Oasis is big lake. Else need dig deep for water." She explains, "loot wine and grog, loot ale on raid. heat wine when night, put cinnamon, also looted. Wine good, grog good. Mead made of honey, come from north. Shayra learn this journey, good drink. Also can be warm. She does not even know many different drinks, some oasis grow goats or the like, which give milk, then water and the stolen alcoholic drinks. That is all, else she had met some new kinds of drinks on her journey north from the Farlands. A brief gaze goes to the hunter as he jokes likely with the Ocean Priestqueen - though she is not sure if that is a joke at all or if the Mer folk takes such as offense. "Desert is for the strong, only best survive, like Mountain Lion Clan, Shayra clan. Maybe similar to winter land, Bear Scar Clan survive winter, Shayra now Bear Scar too, but never seen winter. Prefer desert, yes."
[16:04:43] Nixie (adalori) hummed under her breath, her little hands full of mint leaves. Not so meticulously picked as Sira'Kess' but looking rather pleased with herself none the less. There may have been a normal leaf in there somewhere too though.... Ahh well she would learn. "That is many drinks. Priestess not drink much. Hard drink underwater." more like impossible but yeah... she'd not start on that discussion with the barbarian woman. Nixie stood, dusting herself off and cupping those leaves in her hands, having no pouch with which to store them. "Oh... how will we keep these dry?" she mused out loud, looking to Sira'Kess with a frown as she began to make her way out from behind the little shop.
[16:09:02] Sira'Kess tilted his head for a moment at Shyra's words as he accompanied the Siren back to the front of the shop. "Bear Scar? What is that? He'd look to the Siren as she seemed lost as to what to do with the mint. He fumbled with a pouch at his belt and handed it to her absently as he looked once more to the Barbarian. "Is that what you call your people, family? Your Bear Scar?" The hunter seemed very curious at her words.
[16:11:57] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) laughs at the explanation about drinking under water the Ocean Priestqueen gives, heartily. "Or hard no drink there!" She grunts into her laughter, given that .... how should one not drink as fish under water? She had seen fishes, and they often have their mouths open in O shape unlike humans who have to hold breath there. "If want dry, come Shayra cave. There is warm, good fire, leafs dry well...." At the question of the hunter, she looks at him, shows her upper right arm, where four parallel scars reside, big enough to be made by a bear. "Bear Scar is Dirk clan. Dirk best Shayra, claim wife, now Shayra Bear Scar Clan. Bear Scar come from north, far north. Dirk say much snow, much cold, Bear Scar ride dragon, dragon of wood, swim on water." She means viking dragon longships actually, but cannot explain those better. Ship types and all that are really not her strength, and she had not understood all that Dirk had tried to explain to her back then out of sheer disability to imagine that stuff.
[16:15:00] Nixie (adalori) was going to keep that bag Sira'Kess just didn't know it yet. Shoving the mint leaves she'd gathered rather unceremoniously into the pouch and grinning slightly to herself at her little victory in gathering her own mint. It was the simple things... as the word family was mentioned she'd perk slightly. The concept rather novel to her, listening with interest as Shayra spoke. She also heard the offer but didn't really want to walk so far just for tea, especially considering recent events... instead she would let Shayra regale them with tales of her clan and homelands as they made their way back to the cove.
[16:16:05] Elenelle enters the clearing and smiles kindly to everyone present,"Vedui, and well met" she takes a moment to do a quick scan of her surroundings. Satisfied it is relatively safe she lowers her guard some.
[16:21:06] Sira'Kess followed the Siren absently, glancing at her every now and then as she walked. He'd listen quietly to Shayra as she explained, at the explanation of Bear Scar being her clan he brightened. "Oh, I understand. Its your community, your people. Mer have no real clans, but groups of sharks are called Shivers. Thats close I think, a shiver are brothers. To the Elves greeting he nodded not wanting to be rude but he was very interested in the Barbarian's words.
[16:24:25] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) lets the two handle their dead leafs. The invitation was not only spoken out, but repeated actually, so no much more need to comment - the others would come when they come, or not. "Shayra ride through desert, run through desert, with Mountain Lion Clan, go raid, surprise oases come difficult side. Easier win, slay many, loot many goods, make many captures!" She narrates further, proudly, "and Dirk tell battles too, raid by dragon ride, Dragon swim to shore villages, fast, then raid too, loot too. Bear Scar clan mighty, much honor!" Surely she would tell more tales and stories during the path back, then though the dark clad, blond woman distracts her "Ve... what? You no speak such! Speak what understand!" She gnarls back at the blond. What she does not understand arrives with her not rarely as offense, insult, and she does not understand much actually. Yet the thought of just bashing the woman, punching her onto the nose or the big ears is forgotten a moment later, for now at least, as the hunter explains further. She does not get all from him. "No clans? That no good! Without clan one be alone, alone no joy, no save. Clan fight together, fight with no condition! Clan strong, clan feast, clan raid, together!" She considers having a clan or at least a family, best both, as a must really. Also a reason why she feels not complete currently with the man who had claimed her having vanished.
[16:31:35] Beanna caws loudly as she lands on a nice roosting spot and proceeds to clean out the detritus from her feathers and swallows them down. she keeps a head cocked as she does, listening in to what is being said below, but remaining inconspicuous at the same time...just a lone raven...doing what ravens normally do.
[16:31:42] Elenelle nods,"sorry, I forget. Used elf greeting" trying to speak more simple for her. She looks around again hoping Emmaline would show up but she doesn't. She looks to Shayra with a gentle smile,"still plan on training me to fight? You never showed where to go, why I never came" she scratches her head not sure if she made enough sense to her or not.
[16:34:32] Nixie (adalori) watched the elven woman exit the home and nodding to her greeting. At least they'd used that very same word so many time in conjunction with a greeting she was assuming that was what it was. "Shayra. It means hello." she'd clarify quickly at the barbarian's growl. "Have clan. Called Shoal. What Mer call clan." she'd clarify once more, playing interpretor it would seem so often happened with the woman. She paused as the elven woman addressed Shayra, taking a few more steps towards the gate though not willing to part with the barbarian unless she was sure all would be well with the woman... the caw catching her attention, a new noise and she just stared up at the black creature for a few moments before returning her pale gaze to the people on the ground.
[16:38:08] Sira'Kess turned at the greeting and nodded in recognition. The crow caw was unnoticed as it would be seen as common place near the forest. The hunter would pause waiting to either accompany the Idani back to the cove or remain.
[16:40:36] Sʜᴀʏʀᴀ ᴛʜᴇ Sɴᴀᴋᴇ™ (shayariel.tigerpaw) does not care much about random birds landing somewhere doing what birds do. She is still not used to all animals being intelligent as humans here, and often able to shift into such as well. It is just unnatural for her, likely hence a dangerous weakness. Wanting to follow the hunter and the purple haired woman, she stops as the elven woman speaks further. She turns to her, regards her a while, and finally recognizes her as Emma's daughter. She keeps her eyes narrowed though at the accusation. "Shayra said you come! Not that Shayra fetch you! You no want learn fight!" She grunts back, "but big ears must strong! Else die fast, like coward villager! You no be lazy!" Her tone is hard, commanding as usual. Her head turns quick to the siren explaining. "Clan is shoal? Strange name, but good to have clan! Alone be weak!" She explains, not fully understanding, but accepting it anyways. Now though she is torn between talking and leaving. For a reason though she decides for the later. One more she looks at the blond elven woman. "You want learn how fight, you come Shayra. Teacher no come child, child come teacher!" She commands further, definite in tone. Child, in this context, might be a synonym for student - in her folk there are no real schools or academies, none actually, children learn from the adults, and the adults teach.
[16:42:33] Nixie (adalori) let Shayra say her peace and when the barbarian woman made it apparent she was going to be heading off with them she'd nod to the elven woman. "Be safe!" she'd mimic the farewells of others she had heard before heading off.
[16:45:57] Elenelle didn't mind being called child, in many contexts it was true even though she was just barely an adult. She nods,"I am ready to learn, will come?" She stands a little uneasy but was ready to follow her, half expecting to be pulled by the ear since Emma herself said it was ok for Shayra to teach her. Even Emma called her a child, was a little annoying but she did her best to not show it. She looks to Sin and offers him a nod.
[16:46:59] Sira'Kess parted from the Barbarian with the Siren by his side quietly.
