Cursed! That is what any normal person on Valesk would be thinking right now, when keeping in mind that Lower Aberwyth Harbor not only suffered a flood but knowing that that flood happened in the same week that the Harbor came under new leadership.
The flood happened around the same time as the massacre and no one knows whether it's connected or not.
A tiefling by the name of Ashes recently took over the Harbor business. Having already earned a name in Valesk because of rumors of how she got the job but also because of her questionable reputation. Ashes used to be a thug of the previous harbor master, known to regularly bully and harass upstanding citizens of Valesk that were a few days overdue on their shipping taxes.
Hardly a favorable individual to take control of any place of business, the fact that she took over the Harbor of all places is much reason for concern.
Now everyone may know that Tieflings are in fact cursed humans, in this particular case it is also particularly true! In less than a week of her promotion the Harbor suffered a flood, a large wave hit the Harbor office, that is now partially sunken into the sea. Lots of perishables were lost and debris was found everywhere. It is currently unknown if any of the Harbor crew or sailors lost their lives. Non have been reported missing.
It has also become known that there has been an alligator attack! Of which it is also unknown if the animal was attracted by the smell of rotting food.
While still in shambles, the Harbor crew is doing anything and everything to make sure the rubble will be cleared. But on a more sour note, rumor is filling the air around Lower Aberwyth that the island has shifted it's course, that boats and ships can not find it anymore. Which will undoubtedly have a heavy impact on merchant's deliveries in the near future.
Many hold Ashes personally responsible for this disaster in the making but the Harbor Master remains adamant that absolutely no financial leniency will be extended to merchants, refusing to take responsibility for anything.
* Handed by someone in Lower Aberwyth, scribbled down on a lengthy parchment, probably someone with their own vendetta against the Harbor Master
