Valesk Voice OOC Meeting Recap, Upcoming changes.

[17:06] Alleo (alecksin.avora): Alright, I am going to start the meeting now as even if we are lacking some of our members, the incredible power of copy pasting and the Forums makes it possible for me to ensure everything said today is saved and then poked at others for future readings. So for now, I'm going to explain some of my observations and concerns, hopes and goals, and then I'm going to let those present slip in and talk about what they are looking for.

[17:11] Alleo (alecksin.avora): So the Valesk Voice is an IC business, but it is more-so an OOC responsibility on a lot of our parts. Getting the articles and columns via RP is meant to be the easier part of the job, as really the most it requires is participation and RP with your member characters. The difficult part that I see a lot of us are having a bit of trouble with is the OOC weight, which is the writeups and posting on time of the events and discussions that we have IC with people.
[17:15] Alleo (alecksin.avora): Now I haven't put a lot of weight on actually doing the full write-ups. As it stands, there is a role structure that we do have that has different focuses on the jobs. For example, Editors take a less focus on the interviews and column writeups and instead focus on reading over what others have, ensuring it is neutral enough for presentation, fixing it up, as well as writing out and fleshing up entire interviews and reports if said Journalist doesn't have the time. What that means is that if you are looking to be going out there and RPing, covering events and so forth, you really do not have to write out an entire story for the event as much as you just need to get the main points out. The writing can be left to those who do take the job and have the time for it. I noticed that those that were producing stories had the issue of sitting down and writing, which was not at all the weight or intent of the role as much as it was being out there as representatives of the paper IC, and being a means of acquiring

[17:19] Alleo (alecksin.avora): When it comes to columnists, the role is in fact between, as the expense of not being asked to go out and participate in the actual RPs and acquire stories is that one instead must come up with a creative flare, and have the ability to write out their opinions and voice in a way that is entertaining for a reader, much more like the ones you would see in actual newspapers today. Of course, this also takes a bit of dedication and focus, as columns and their pen names should become something everyone comes to recognize and trust upon as characters to a certain degree.
[17:24] Alleo (alecksin.avora): What I try to illiterate, is that instead of being there, at the shop, rping the transfer of goods and such, being a part of the Valesk Voice is a much more different kind of job and has its expectations. Now, real life is difficult to get around, I understand completely, and in order to remedy, I've come up with a few solutions or changes thanks to talking to Batman. It will steer the nature of the paper away from a weekly thing, but maybe it will help, so I'd like you guys here to give your opinion, and then those reading can get back to me later on it when they have their own opinion in mind...
[17:26] Alleo (alecksin.avora): So would you be more comfortable with seeing the paper as a "By article" thing, rather than a "by weekly" thing? Do you think that would help with your writing and coming up with stories/columns? Do you think you would personally like to read that better, as well?
