Pearl Quest Update
After the newest dice hud update the information on rolls for pearls needs to be tweaked.
After the newest dice hud update the information on rolls for pearls needs to be tweaked.
The same rules as before still apply:
Pearls are a semi rare substance within Valesk and should be treated as such. Merfolk in Valesk have a far better chance of finding pearls versus landers since the Mer spend all their time under water and know every inch of its area. However, there are some rules with pearls that all Merfolk must follow, as well as a weekly quest to find them under water.
It does come down to an honor system. If you roll a number for the quest, please adhere to your number and be honest. It's not fair to other players to be running around with a million pearls. Not to mention, it's not realistic.

- Pearls may only be searched for once per week.
- No more than 3 pearls will ever be found at one given time. (events and dungeons are the only exception when it is up to the storyweaver to decide that)
- Pearls may be used as a form of currency for the mer, but do remember that they have special worth. Don't be tossing down a pearl for a bottle of ale, the prices aren't equal.
- If you break the honor system and use pearls willy nilly, your ability to use pearls as a currency may be revoked ICly as currency is a very important part of an RP sim.
- Once per week, a mer may go out into the water and search for pearls.
- Size determines rarity and price. color and hue adds in extra price on top of the pearls original price.
- You will roll a search using a standard d20 (unranked)
- The first roll the player makes determines the size of the pearl.
- The second roll will determine the color or hue of the pearl.
Welcome to make a pearl factory, here are your choices based on which numbers you roll
You will roll a search using a standard d20 (unranked)
The numbers 1 and 20 can give you an ultra rare on either size or color
The numbers 2-4 and 17-19 may produce a rare
The numbers 5-7 and 14-16 may produce an uncommon
The numbers 8-13 are commons

Nixie rolls R0 (IoV:#0594#): 4
Nixie rolls R0 (IoV:#e5ac#): 20
Roll 1 = a rare
Roll 2 = ultra rare
So this would produce a large pearl with a cream color and an opal overtone. OR two medium pearls with cream color and opal overtone
There are many different combinations to give you the freedom to choose what you find during your RP, have fun with it.
