Week 1 (Beginning 11/18/15) Roleplay 1

[15:52] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) walks into the vale to find her friends. She gives a friendly smile to the Tari and Eph. It was nice to see Ephralia back to her normal self. "Greetings. She says softly and nods her head to the two women. "How are you feeling Eph?" She was noticeably missing Gethin as well as her staff this trip.

[15:53] Emmaline Anundr Aldin (emmaline.mynx) nods, but asks, "What is Poker Dice?" But it sounded fun and Emma was in. When Nadora joined them, Emma bowed and said, "Vedui, Nadora! Where's Gethin?" She figured Nadi's magic must still be on the fritz or she would have her staff for sure. Emma couldn't remember a time when she'd seen her without it.

[15:55] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) "Dice where you place wagers is all. Vedui, Nadora! Want to play, too? I think I have enough. I was making wooden dice the other day." Eph also notices the hawk's absence, and she answers Nadora, "I'm better'n two hoots and a caw-caw, thanks!"

[15:58] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) tilts her head a little at the mention of dice. She had never been a gambling woman, but she couldn't see the harm in it with friends. "If you teach me I shall play."She smiles a little wider, happy that her friend seems to be completely recovered from her ordeal. "I have come here regarding another matter though. I was wondering if your library might have a scroll or tome on magical techniques of ancient races? I know it is a longshot, but I was hoping that I might find something here that I could not find in the library."

[16:01] Emmaline Anundr Aldin (emmaline.mynx) tells Nadora, "You are more than welcome to look, Nadora. Folks have been bringing books and scrolls in a few at a time of late. We haven't found a librarian yet to begin cataloging them, but at least they are on shelves. Let's go upstairs. We can play a little of this poker dice and then look for the book."

[16:03] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) "That's a plan! No wonder you're the Tari!" Eph just about yields to the temptation to bear-hug Emma, but stays firm and just grins like a fool, then leads the way upstairs

[16:05] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) realizes she had forgotten to answer Emma regarding Gethin. "As for Gethin, he doesn't like books much and when I told him I was coming here to ask for a scroll he took off hunting." She chuckles a little, though honestly, she was beginning to lose the ability to speak to him. Her spells were starting to not work at all either. "Probably a good thing, he would have tried to snatch Eph's dice up."

After several games of dice...

17:07] Ephralia: Eph goes and claims Nadora's elbow, "Cheese? It's downstairs."

[17:08] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) laughs a little and nods. "Though I really do need some books..."She looks around the room curiously. "Are these in any sort of order at all?" She was worried that if she had to look through them all she'd never find what she was looking for.

[17:09] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) has to moan a bit about the books, "Not good order, no. The histories we've sorted are on THAT shelf, though. If we get a magic book, it goes straight to Astrena Tor - we don't keep it."

[17:11] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) nods a little at that and shrugs. "I'm more looking for like...things that ancient peoples used to do, a history I suppose, not necessarily a magical book. Even their rituals and their customs regarding magic. I just find that sort of thing interesting and I'm always trying to learn more. I figured if anyone would have a history of magical techniques studied by the ancients it would be the elves."

[17:14] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) nods and goes to a low spot, running her finger along the spines of the books. She murmurs, "Ancients. As in primeval gods, as in those fabled civilizations that perished due to their own ascendancy, such as Netheril ... "

[17:16] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) laughs and moves over toward Eph with a nod. "Yes that would be a good start, but even those that aren't fabled. Perhaps things even your ancestors did that we now know don't work or were just merely old wives tales as it were."

[17:21] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) "I'd say, let's get to skimming! That's something that can't be captured in a card catalog! Here's one - 'Waking the Trees' .. seems to be about the origin of the Ents." Eph pulls a particularly gnarly book off the shelves

[17:24] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) gets an excited look on her face. Books were a passion of hers and she'd definitely not read that one before. "Oooh that one looks promising Eph!" It was especially interesting to her given that she cast nature magic well and that she was a bird too. "I think that one would be a very good start."She smiles at the woman. "Thank you for helping me."

Week 1 Roleplay 2

[18:32] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) walks up into the library after greeting Kaylin and is pleasantly surprised when she sees the Tari and Epralia in there as well. She carries the book in her hands that she had borrowed from them. "Greetings friends." She held the book carefully as if it were a precious thing and places it carefully back onto the shelf where it had come from.

[18:33] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) takes the coins and bows solemnly. "I shall re-sharpen my eyes until they're as sharp as the jibes of the wittiest bard in history rolled into a pointed cone and dipped in lemon juice!" Eph promises. Then grins at Nadora, "Greetings, Nadora! Well, bless you! Returning the Ent book I see!"

[18:35] Emmaline Anundr Aldin (emmaline.mynx) "Ent book? I did not know we even had a book on the Ent. Amazing. I will have to read it myself." She grins and bows her head toward Nadora. "Quel andune, Nadora. It is most good to see you."

[18:36] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) nods a little at Eph and laughs. "Indeed. It was quite interesting to be sure, though...I could have gone without knowing the spawning habits of the ancient ones."She blushes a little at what she had read. She smiles at Emma. "It was very informative, but not entirely what I was looking for. It was, however, good to find out how they lived. I'm always interested in discovering things about the ancient magical races.

[18:38] Ephralia Valor (Ephralia Resident) smiles happily, eyes turning to crescents. "That's what books for for! To learn new things! And everybody that learns something new should write a book! Ha ha! But, my fair friends, I must be off for a little while, even though it's hard to leave you, and the books. Namaarie!" Eph waves and heads for the door.

[18:44] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) walks over to the shelves and browses more of the collection, running her fingers gently along the spines of the precious tomes. She needed to find out more of the past magical races. Studying them always helped to gain knowledge of the present. Even if the magical techniques they used were lost, or misguided, it still gave insight into how one might improve their own methods and practices.

[18:47] Nadora Toza (marissa.ludlow) stops finally at a rather thick and dusty tome. She pulls it carefully from the shelf and almost gasps. A history of dragons. She couldn't help but open the book and look inside. The art was stunning and though the text was old and faded a bit, it was in relatively good condition. She would write a note for the Tari, letting her know that she took the book and she would return it once she was finished reading it. Surely this would have something to help her improve her magic. Now to lock herself away in her tree house with a warm cup of tea and some very long burning candles.
