What are you adding?: Sisters of the Wild Wood [Coven]
Where do they come from/where do they reside?
Their origins are murky, some say it began when a freed slave took off to worship Valeska along with her sister instead of striking the rock and joining the village. Others say they were created from mud and clay and the blood of the dead from before any man stepped foot on the island. Rumours get quite fanciful. Currently they are suspected to reside in the Forest surrounding the Village of Aberwyth.
What is their story? Do they have any identifying markers?
The true story is as obscure as the rest of it. While one of the freed slaves may very well have been the progenitors of the coven, it has since been fueled by outcasts and wretches, babies left in the forest to die, and the ship-wrecked lonesome. Still doused in obscurity, it's hard to tell if there's many or any at all left, and that's exactly how the Sisters like it to be.
Sometimes villagers will see a stone circle in the Woods and perhaps an old peasant might whisper about the Sisters, but besides the name on their tongues there is no marking or crest. You just know or you don't.
Do they have any traditions/worship any certain gods/goddesses?
By and by large, the Sisters worship Valeska in their own isolated way. Some stray and end up worshiping idols of Baphomet and other fouler things, but all are expected to worship and abide by Valeska. That said, their sense of ritual and rites is strict and unforgiving.
Any additional information you wish to provide?
It might well grow in number through player involvement.
Can you be contacted in-world for questions about this entry? Yes.

What are you adding?:- Tribe: Fiadhaichòigeidh. It is mainly made up of satyrs, fauns, and other faeries, as well as their mix-breed children...although different races can be a part of it (read 'Any additional information' to learn more about that). The Fiadhaichòigeidh highly value life and nature, and they have a strong moral code (although it can vary between clans, families, and individuals) that they are steadfast in. - Clans: There are thirteen clans which make up the Fiadhaichòigeidh; each is based on one of the thirteen Celtic zodiac animals ( the stag/deer, the cat, the adder/snake, the fox, the bull/cow, the seahorse, the wren, the horse, the fish/salmon, the swan, the butterfly, the wolf/hound, the hawk). Each clan celebrates a particular specialty, although they are not limited to that one (even warrior clans need healers, for example). While the clans differ vastly, they still support each other and are protective of the other clans. It is not unknown for a member of one clan to join another. Each clan is made up of multiple families. The six largest clans shall be listed here:
- Eala Clan - The Clan of the Swan.
The spiritualists and the healers. The Eala mainly make up the shamans, druids/priest(esse)s, oracles, magical healers, and herbalist healers of the Fiadhaichòigeidh. They see the great importance of repairing body and soul, staying in connection with the spiritual realm, and giving the spirits and deities their proper dues.
- Faolchú Clan - The Clan of the Wolf.
The warriors and the hunters. The Faolchú mainly make up the defenders, trackers, scouts, and providers of game, of the Fiadhaichòigeidh. They see the importance in physically protecting the Clans and the defending the weak, and providing for those who are needy or dependent upon them. Many are loners although they also often work in teams.
- Os-Allaidh Clan - The Clan of the Stag.
The guardians of nature and life. The Os-Allaidh mainly make up the foragers, wildlife guardians, and rangers of the Fiadhaichòigeidh. They see the preciousness of all living things from plants to animals, as well as the importance of nature in both land, water, and air. They seek to preserve and protect the health of the environment and all that lives within it.
- Séabhac Clan - The Clan of the Hawk.
The teachers and the judges. The Séabhac mainly make up the educators, enforcers of the Lagh, rule-makers, and mediators of the Fiadhaichòigeidh. They are sticklers for the Lagh, highly value knowledge, and they see the importance in passing on knowledge for enlightenment, understanding, and wisdom.
- Sionnach Clan - The Clan of the Fox.
The historians and the entertainers. The Sionnach mainly make up the orators, storytellers, music-makers, and scribes of the Fiadhaichòigeidh. They have long memories and they are creative, and they see the importance in reminding others of the past to ensure all remember where the Clans came from.
- Tarbh Clan - The Clan of the Bull.
The caretakers and counselors. The Tarbh mainly make up the babysitters, the caretakers of the elderly, and the emotional support, of the Fiadhaichòigeidh. They are gentle and patient, and they see the importance in caring for the young and old, and maintaining good emotional health.
Where do they come from?- Origins: Their ancestors hailed from Wollon Woods in the Kingdom of Lynea. Pollution, logging of trees, and human encroachment on the forests led a few satyrs and other fae into leaving in search of a new place to settle. It is unknown how they managed to arrive to the Isle of Valesk, but they did find themselves on its shores and they moved inland. - Present Day: Today the clans of the Fiadhaichòigeidh are spread across almost all of Valesk. Where do they reside?- The Fiadhaichòigeidh inhabit forests, glades, and small woods. They live in old trees, caves, tents, or outdoors. It is rare to find them in towns or cities. What is their story?- The Past: The Fiadhaichòigeidh did not have a purpose when they formed. They were simply the ancestors who moved into Valesk in search of a new home, and who remained together as a family unit. As time passed the families grew in number, until they were so large they had to begin splitting apart into different units to seek out new places to live because the area they currently were in could not sustain such large numbers. Eventually there were so many that they needed to develop a form of organization to prevent chaos, and so the Lagh was created, as well as the Còmhlan. - The Present: The Fiadhaichòigeidh today are just a very large family spread out in different clans and settled in many different areas. The Lagh and the Còmhlan still exist to maintain order, although now members of the tribe have begun to venture away from their clans to explore different places of Valesk. The reasons why vary among the individuals; some go in order to explore and learn, others to get away from annoying family, some wish to protect the forest or people of other sections of the isle...and others just felt like randomly leaving for no other reason beyond that. Do they have any identifying markers?- Brands: Each member of the Fiadhaichòigeidh is marked with tribal tattoos which signals what family and clan they belong to. It is not uncommon for individuals to mark themselves with tattoos that show their rank, job, or deity. - Crests: Each clan has its own crest bearing both the symbol of the Fiadhaichòigeidh as well as their clan's spirit animal. It is not uncommon for families to have their own crest which is basically the clan crest with their own special symbol added to it alongside the other two symbols. Do they have any traditions?- Traditions vary from clan to clan and family to family. However, there are a few things all of the Fiadhaichòigeidh participate in: - Festivals: As noble-minded as the Fiadhaichòigeidh members are, they are still mostly satyrkin and thus they still like to party...and their festivals are more like wild parties, brimming with booze, drugs, and good food. Large festivals are thrown once every season to celebrate the close of a season and the dawn of another, as well as during equinoxes. A festival is thrown at the beginning of each new year. Tribe members often travel to other clans to join in festivals there. - Days of Honor: Once every two months is a day dedicated to honoring something or someone. These are the days of honor: February 1st: Honor the earth which feeds you. April 1st: Honor the heavens which give water, light, and the stars to guide you. June 1st: Honor your family, the clans, and the Fiadhaichòigeidh who love you and protect you. August 1st: Honor your ancestors, who walked the difficult paths, and led to your creation. October 1st: Honor the spirits who provide for you and protect you. December 1st: Honor the wildlife, which clothe you with their hides, provide you comfort, and whose meat feeds you throughout the winter.- Life and Death: The birth of a child is often met with a giant celebration from the entire clan, since the Fiadhaichòigeidh cherish life. A death of a tribe member is also celebrated, for while there is the grief of death, they believe the deceased has gone on to paradise to join their ancestors. They celebrate the release from a world of disease, hunger, and pain into the arrival of a better place where there is never-ending joy and beautiful forests. Do they worship any certain deities?- Each clan worships its own deity, sometimes more than one. It is not uncommon for a family to have its own special deity which differs from the clan's. There is only one thing in common that the Fiadhaichòigeidh all worship or, at the very least, highly honor: life, or the things which lead to life (such as Sun, fertility, water spirits, the earth, et cetera). Any additional information you wish to provide?- While it is mainly satyrs, half-satyrs, other subraces of fae, and their mix-breed children who make up the Fiadhaichòigeidh, it is not unknown to have non-fae become a part of it. Orphaned children or infants found by a tribe member are often adopted into the clan regardless of the child's race, and thus become a part of the Fiadhaichòigeidh...finding themselves raised in its ways. It is extraordinary difficult for adults to become a part of the tribe, but it sometimes happens; elves (usually wild elves or wood elves, though every so often other types manage to join the Fiadhaichòigeidh) who prove themselves merciful and dedicated to the preservation of life are sometimes accepted, and human rangers are sometimes welcomed into the tribe. - In order to prevent chaos and a lack of law in the various scattered clans, both great and small, a code dubbed "the Lagh" was developed. The Lagh goes as follows: 1. Respect all living beings, both great and small. 2. Do not harm the young, whether person, beast, or plant. 3. Do not harm the weak, crippled, or ill. 4. Respect the elders. 5. Do not harm the land which feeds you.- Since the Fiadhaichòigeidh is made up of many clans and families, a political system needed to be set up to ensure each family and clan had a say in things when it came to matters of mass scale. The system goes as follows: the head of each family (usually the eldest and thus wisest) is a part of small council in a clan, and a chosen representative from each clan-council is a part of a much larger council known as The Còmhlan. The Còmhlan makes the greater decisions which will impact all of the Fiadhaichòigeidh, namely during times of war, famine or disease, or altering the Lagh. Can you be contacted in-world for questions about this entry?- Yes.
