Duties: Training the way of magic healing

[2015/06/29 13:38] Cypriana Vanya Tamalyn nodded, "Of course you can look for plants, but I will be giving you assignments that will help you grow, and help me see what you know and can do." Pointing to the ledger Mederia now held, "Your first assignment will be to find an injured animal in the wild, they do not have to be gravely injured, but it should be something that magic would remedy better than herb. I would like you to detail their injury, in your ledger, and detail what spell, or spells, you used on them. Make sure to record if it helped them or not, or if you need more practice with the particular spell."
[2015/06/29 13:41] Mederia Seerose tilts her head and nods. "An animal... and better than with an herb. Good..." She blinks, looks over to the scull laying at the herbalist worktable, nods again. Then she turns her head and looks to the w:olf. She smiles. "In the wild. Good. I am used to horses and dogs... but there is enough wildlife. And enough hunters around. I will see..." She smiles, still thinking.
[2015/06/29 13:45] Cypriana Vanya Tamalyn smiled, "As healers we heal all animals, creatures, and being. This will be your very first opportunity. I do hope you enjoy doing it, it sounds as if you will." Syepping back and away from the counter, she would dip her head, "if you will excuse me, however, I need to work on making a potion." Drawing her hand back, to point to the back stairs, "should I be needed further, I will be in my room for awhile." Moving that direction, then tunring to Mederia once more, "Safe travels, an may the spirits find you luck.."
[2015/06/29 13:46] Mederia Seerose bows her head. "A full moon and dancing stars, a bright sun and a refreshing rain on your way." She takes the book and holds it in her arms, close to her, smiling.
[2015/06/29 13:50] Mederia Seerose smiles to the nurse and promise: "I bring the towel back. I am sure, I have it still somewhere..." Then she gives the NPCs a greeting and turns and walks out barefeet.

06.07.2015:
[13:19] Haisley (eve.leratia) stops in tracks, blinking a bit at teh statue, "What is this?," she asks softly.
[13:20] Mederia Seerose sits at the water, looking over to the statue and shakes her head slightly. "You look a bit like my grandmother, you know?" She sighs and takes some of the herbs at her side out and looks at it. "Without herbs.. with magic." She smiles and tilts her head, looking to the statue. "Sure... why not. But an animal of the wild... haven't found any hurt animal... seems they are either dead or healthy." Mederia startles when she hears the words behind her and turns half. She blushes. "oh... I am not sure. Some goddess...."
[13:21] Haisley (eve.leratia) smiles a bit, stepping tentatively closer, "Not mean interupt. Just look around," she murmurs, then nods, "Guess was goddess. Must be goddess of people here..." She bites her lip, glancing down a moment before, "You say look for hurt animal?"
[13:23] Mederia Seerose looks up to Haisley. "Yes." She smiles a bit. "I got a task from my teacher at the infirmary. And I don't think it would be appropriated to hurt myself an animal to get it done... But I found a lot of herbs at least." She shows a little basket with some plants. "And even some early apples. You would like one?"
[13:25] Haisley (eve.leratia) nods in understanding before blinking, "Apple...?," she furrows he brorws, stepping closer to look to the basket, "What is apple?," she asks, falling silent a moment before, "Think see hurt animal. May be wrong, not know..."
[13:27] Mederia Seerose takes one of the few apples out, looks at it and cleans it at her skirt and reaches it then up to her. "They grow on trees. And can be green or red. Normally they would need some months more to get ready to eat, but this tree seemed to have a lot of sun and warmth. You can eat all... but most don't eat the core, its a bit bitter and too much of the core is not healthy also. Try it! It's a bit sour..." Then she blinks. "Really?" She raises. "Could you show me?"
[13:29] Haisley (eve.leratia) takes the apple, turning it around in her hands some moments, "Not see before. Not have in home," she says softly before taking a small bite, seeming surprised as she chews. Once she swallows, she speaks again, "Is...is...crackly? Taste good," she nods at that before nodding at her question, "Can show. Is water animal. Think might heal on own, but...come," she smiles a bit ebfore turning to elad on, chewing on the apple as she does.
[13:31] Mederia Seerose follows Haisley over the meadows to the water. She looks around. "That is a nice spot. Waterlilies..." she smiles. Then she looks around, becoming more seriously. "A water animal?"
[13:33] Haisley (eve.leratia) kneels down near the river edge, peering into teh water. "Where'd he go..." she murmurs, looking tot he apple in her hand for a moment before sticking it into the water, keeping a hold onto it. "Yes, water animal. Baby squid. Think get cut on glass someplace..." She looks back to Mederia ebfore taking a breath and sticking her head under the water, shaking the hand with the apple before quickly pulling her head and hand back up, a small squid latched onto teh apple. "See?," she says, holding her hand out so she coudl see the cut on the squid's head. "Hurt."
[13:35] Mederia Seerose goes on her knees next to the water. "Oh by all waters....! What's this for an animal.... It has a lot of arms... I think, I saw... once a picture." She blinks. "It showed a big one drowning a whole ship!" She looks carefully at the animal without touching it. "A squid you say?
[13:36] Haisley (eve.leratia) nods, "Squid. ittle one. Mother here, too, think," she smiles a bit, "Kraken drown ship, squid not big enough. Some type squid big, but rare. Kraken more liekly drown ship," she explains, carefully taking the squid off the apple and setting it in her lap, murmuring softly to it and trying to keep it from moving around too much. "It not move much, promise. Think can help? Not good be bleed."
[13:39] Mederia Seerose nods. "But it is so tiny... I have to be careful. You know... when there is somebody healed by magic it weakens the one healed... not only the healer. The cut is not nice... at least it seems not infected, fresh still. " She looks over the water. "Would be the mother not angry that we have her child?" She bites on her lower lip.
[13:43] Haisley (eve.leratia) tilts her ehad, looking tot he small creature, "Does?," she frowns a bit at that before nodding, smilig reassuringly, "She fine. Promise. Just if can help, need do quick so can get back in water. Otherwise mother not be happy."
[13:47] Mederia Seerose nods. "Normally I would clean the wound before..." She looks to the water. "But as it is swimming the whole day and the water seems clear enough..." she frowns and looks over the water with the plants and animals. "But maybe..." She takes a bottle out and looks at it. "It's only clear water I took from a well just. But it is really clear." She looks to the little squid. "Hm.... don't wiggle too much, that I can poor a bit over the wound. It's only water, I promise", she says warmly to the cold-blooded animal.
[13:49] Haisley (eve.leratia) nods, holdindg the squid, which had one of its arm wrapped around her wrist, one of thsoe without any 'teeth' in it, otherwise the squid was still. "He be still," she says reassuringly, smiling a bit as she speaks to the creature. "Think he like your voice. I tlak to to help stay calm, you do what need do," she says, looking down to teh baby squid and starting to murmur softly to it in what coudl be her native tongue.
[13:54] Mederia Seerose sighs and nods. "So, dear, let's do it.- Oh, a boy?" she smiles. "See, little boy, there is a way to close this cut with the gift of magic. It's not the easiest way to do it... but herbs won't heal you fast enough for the water, I would guess." She inhales and nods again. She raises one hand to hold it over the little animal, but so, that she isn't touching it and she still can see the cut. She says - in an odd accent, that gives the common language a kind of singing in it - "Hear me, feel me, open body, I will heal you softly. It will grow the way it's right, it will find your hurt as strike." Her hand over the squid will lightly shimmer in the light of the sun, maybe only the reflection of the water. Even Haisley could feel, holding the squid, that there is a tingle in the air.
[13:56] Haisley (eve.leratia) smiels a bit as she listens to Mederia's words, lightly stroking over the arm around ehr wrist with her free hand, tilting her head at her words that sounded a bit different, but still murmuring to the squid in her lap, watching the cut for any changes as soon as she felt the air tingling.
[14:00] Mederia Seerose smiles and adds with a soft voice: "Hear me, feel me, open body, I will heal you shortly. It will close itself the way, the way my words will say." The cut of the squid will shimmer in the same way as Mederia's hand - maybe also only a reflection. The squid would feel the tingle through the pain, but more at something lightly touching. Then a pull through the whole small body should begin... it should not hurt, more feel like a big urge to hold all still, not to move and to use all strength to do so.
[14:02] Haisley (eve.leratia) 's eyes widen slightly at teh shimmering and at teh squid staying completely still, looking between it and Mederia, though doens't stop her soft murmuring, only watching with much interest in her eyes.
[14:07] Mederia Seerose inhales and says, her voice a bit rough, but her hand still steady: "Hear me, feel me, open body, I will heal you neatly. It will be like it was, before you cut yourself with glass." She murmurs now the first sentence over and over and by doing this, the shimmer will be like little strings, pulling the cut together beginning at the ground, ending at the skin, holding it together and then... only the skin is to see, when it grows over the cut, leaving a very fine, first dark-blue, then lighter, then white line.
[14:09] Haisley (eve.leratia) blinks when she seemed finished, "Oh...not even much see," she murmurs, looking questioningly, "Can put back water now?," she asks, frownign slightly as teh squid starts to move his tentacles and arms around a bit more.
[14:14] Mederia Seerose s hand shivers, when the line vanishes even at the skin of the little squid. Mederia inhales and exhales and she touches the tired wiggling squid now, closing her eyes and murmurs, not answering yet: "Little child, give me the pain, the weakness over, that yourself will fast recover!" She inhales and shakes her head. Then she tries it again, says the spell again and some light is burning her fingers and she takes her hand fastly back. She smiles then faintly and nods to Haisley. "I guess, he should be able to swim. It's such a small body..." she murmurs, putting her burned to fingers in the water to cool.

[14:15] Haisley (eve.leratia) bites her lip as she hadn't seemed finished yet, waiting patiently before nodding and moving to drip the squid back into the water, the little animal quickly swimming off. "Think he say thank you if could," she says, looking to Mederia once the squid was out of sight. "Glad coudl help. Think mother squid be happy, too, if knew."
[14:18] Mederia Seerose smiles faintly. She moves her finger in the water. "My ma warned me -not- to try this", she murmurs. "But he would be so weak otherwise." She frowns and then yawns. "Oh my..." She looks to Haisley. "I thank you! I learned something today. About little squids also." She smiles. "But I... I need a bed now..." She raises. "You would like to have another apple? I can pluck more tomorrow..."
[14:21] Haisley (eve.leratia) furrows her brows, "Try what? Magic heal?," she asks, seeming concerned and stands, holding her hands behind her back, nodding, "Glad coudl learn things," she replies with a smile ebfore nodding a few times at her question, "Would like another, yes, if not mind. Many thanks, Mederia."
[14:25] Mederia Seerose shakes her head and reaches Haisley the two apples out of the basket. "No, I thank you", she repeats. "And she warned me to take the pain and weakness of the healed to myself. Although I saw her do this a lot of times... when she liked the patient. She could be very... rough also." She shrugs a bit and smiles. "She was a good healer." She looks to the water, where the squid had vanished and murmurs: "Good luck!" And then to Haisley: "May the waters be kind to you." She yawns again and would then begin to search for a place to rest.
[14:26] Haisley (eve.leratia) smiles and takes the two apples, thouhg keeping her fingers close together and holds the apples to her chest, nodding, "Oh, so want be like mother. Sound like be good idea," she smiles then nods, "Safe lands, mederia."
[14:26] Mederia Seerose smiles and nods and walks then slowly away.
