Within Valesk, connections to the gods and goddesses of the sea is very hard. There is something mysterious blocking the Merfolk's connection to their Pantheon of Gods. However, regardless of this disconnect, Merfolk still believe in their gods and goddesses. Faith is best found in adversity and Merfolk are no different.
So with their faith come the names of those the Merfolk worship. Primary among them are:
Pontus
Primordial deity and personification of the sea. He is less worshiped than recognized as the first among all, from whom all other gods and goddesses receive their power.
Poseidon
God of the sea, earthquakes, storms and horses. He is the chief god in Merfolk worship.
Amphitrite
Poseidon's wife and goddess of all creatures that reside within waters. She is the progenitor of the Merfolk Gift, Amphitrite’s Gift.
Ceto
Goddess of sea monsters and all dangerous aspects of the sea. She is the war goddess for Merfolk.
Tethys
Goddess of freshwater, such as rivers, springs, streams, fountains and clouds.
