OOC background:
The following is a quest for healers to complete.
This quest requires that you apply for the Anatomy of skill
Any member of the infirmary may work on this quest, but it will be required for those working on ranking up to complete.
The goal of this quest is to compile information on all of the races.
IC Introduction to the quest:
An old book lay in the lead physician's office, the cover was torn and tattered, and its many pages faded with time. The book had obviously seen its better days. On the front one could make out what was left of the title, " Ana omy and ysiol of the Races". Upon opening the thick leather cover one would noticed a rather large, faded, picture of several varying races. Underneath the picture, the title would read slightly clearer, "Anatomy and Physiology of the Races." Thumbing through the book, it's reader would notice many fine drawings that either faded with time, or were torn somehow. Very few pages stayed completely in tact. Those that did detailed certain anatomical and physiological facts about different races. It was clear that the book had sustained substantial water damage on its voyage to the island. No one knows where the book came from, or whose it was, but it elicits a curiosity from the infirmary workers. The lead physician spends several nights trying to piece together the information, before she pushes it aside and pens a note to her employees.
"Dear healers,
While we have many collections of knowledge, we have no comprehensive compendium of the races on our island. I would like to remedy this situation by working together to compile records of each of the various races. If we could take it upon ourselves to meet with creatures of all kinds and glean what we can of their health, their bodies, and what can hurt and heal them the most, I would like to create a new binding of the book, "Anatomy and Physiology of the Races." This compilation would assist us, and all future healers, in ensuring that we are do the best we can for the beings of this island.
Any who are interested, please make your intentions to help known to me. I would like to know what race(s) you seek to study. You can either send me word with a note, or visit me in person to do so.
Your dedication to your work and our people is appreciated,
Cypriana Vanya Tamalyn, Infirmary Lead."
Beside the note lay a parchment titled, "Goals for Gathering Knowledge."
1. Identify the race
2. Identify any sub-races
3. Identify life span
4. Identify anatomical features of the race
5. Are there special abilities and traits?
6. Identify weaknesses, allergies
7. Any specific healing measures that are most effective for this race?
8. Any special notes and information you feel is important.
example: pregnancy and birthing, traditions and superstitions etc..
Guidelines for OOC submission:
I. Make sure that Cy Tamalyn is aware that you're working on the quest and what race(s) you want to study, apply for Anatomy of Skill
II. Record all RP encounters wherein you do your research. They either need to be recorded in a NC and submitted upon completion of quest.
III. A final IC write up needs to be submitted, for IC approval, to Cy Tamalyn. The write up needs to answer some, if not all of the questions above.
IV. Once the write up has been ICly approved, you may post the document to the Infirmary Forum sub-thread titled "Anatomy and Physiology of the Races"
