I with thinking about this really long and hard today, and I think I might've came up with a system that would be rewarding for everyone, both bad, good, and everything in between.
Of course, all of these need to be talked about, balanced, and rebalanced - and of course, are just ideas.
So, here's my presentation!
What is a bounty exactly? Well to put it simply, someone(s) or something(s) are not happy with you - and want someone(s) or something(s) to deal with you! But, how to they do that exactly?
For starters, to even have to have a bounty upon your head, you have to do something that will pull up (or down) your social standing. {More on that on #4!) Be it stealing, or murder - or even stopping a murderer or saving a princess, you're bound to do something to get on someone's bad side, that will more likely than not, want to see justice (or punishment) carried out.
How bounties are made.
ICLY: Bounties are created within the scroll and book shop, for their the ones with all the fancy inks and tools to be able to create wanted posters. An application can be filled out by one of the workers there, and the request will be overlooked. If you are feeling narcissistic - you could even essentially create your own bounty.
OOCLY: If a bounty is created for your character, it's at this time you must choose an alias. No full names will ever be on a bounty - for what's the fun of that? Only thing would be a brief description, and a few, minor details to help hunters try and catch you.
Once your poster has been created (which I could draw, or some other lovely artists out there! Just volunteering!) it will be posted upon the bounty board, which could be found outside of the tavern or opium den(?). At this point, you're up for grabs for any hunter that spots the poster, or you can ask tavern maidens, and other people about the rumors of who's currently wanted.
When you and a hunter finally cross paths, you will use dice to determine victor! Use the 'best two out of three method' (or if you really feel like it, you can keep it longer!) to keep it flowing! Once victor has been chosen, the "caught" person can be brought to the warden's keep, (or possible Den mother or other evil entity?) to obtain gold, and other reward prizes (More on that in #6!)
Be cautious that you might not be the only hunter, and the wanted can always attempt an escape, in which you would have to wait at least an hour IRL time to try and catch them again! (Gotta give a break you know! Unless you both agree upon a chase!)
The amount upon your bounty is dependent on two different factors: #1 your social standing, and #2, rank. The more people know of you, the more people want to hunt you and claim that gold for themself!
Note: If you're a hunter, this applies to you too! The more people you catch, the more YOU want to be catched and stopped as well!
When you have a successful boon, you can turn in those RPS for a level up in rank, dependent on the admin or whoever!
Do know that just because you're a higher rank than someone else, that DOESN'T mean they CAN'T catch you. In fact, it might be better for a rookie to catch you, for then they get well known themselves!
Also, you could even level up if you manage to ESCAPE capture from Wardens...or the baddies....
Bounty hunting isn't just for the good guys anymore! Any evil-doer can sent henchmen, or a lowly thief can catch anyone for a bit of coin if it so pleases them. Just know at any time - you can gain BOTH glory and infamy - so it's really your choice if you want to hunt the good, bad, or in-between!
(just know you miiiiight get on their bad side....)
As stated before - just because you're after someone, that doesn't mean someone else isn't! This means it's a true race to the clock, in which you can decide to split the reward, or trick and/or fight the other that's trying to catch your prey! How fun!
The reward will get higher the more glory/infamy someone has! From gold, to custom mesh loot, to even a title can be rewarded for those daring enough to catch the unstoppable!

Of course, these are all ideas, nothing set in stone! So please, I would love to know what everyone thinks of such an idea!
