[15:01] . There is a target standing in the clearing, rather crudely made but to-the-point. There is a satyr standing in the clearly too, rather marvelously made but not to-the-point as he's standing waaaaay back from the target and apparently having issues with his bow and arrow...as although he's aiming the arrow, whenever he releases it it goes arching away /over/ the target...or far off to the left, or the right. Somehow he even screws up enough to shoot it directly into the ground three feet in front of him. Bane grumbles with each failed attempt, though at the arrow which hits the ground a few steps away from him, he squawks, "Ach, c'mon!"
[15:04] Cirden Fang he walks into the clearing hearing the sound of arrows fireing from a bow and he tilted his head to the side, watching the Fawman work. He cringes at how bad he is, and he shook his head from side to side, as he walked forward he did so slowly, atleast till he was at the mans side, then caughed a bit, watching his stance the way he held the bow, drew, and released. The man needed help badly or he wouldnt catch a damn thing, strange though that fawman hunted, he'd think he'd be eating grass or something. But stranger things have happened. So, he stood there. If he got Fawmans attention he'd point to the bow, then to his and the arrows.
[15:13:13] . Bane had reached behind his back to withdraw another arrow from his quiver, and he points his bow to the ground as he places the shaft of the arrow on the arrow rest. He's oblivious to Cirden's approach up until the other man coughs, in which Bane pauses in the midst of nocking his arrow to slowly raise his head and turn surprised eyes onto the other man. When Cirden begins gesturing to the bow and then his own, the satyr glances back and forth -- brows creeping up his forehead -- before abruptly he smiles broadly. "Aye, please!" he exclaims, eyes turning onto Cirden's own bow now with a watchfulness in his gaze which makes it clear he will be paying attention to how the other man handles his bow and arrows.
[15:16:52] Cirden Fang he looked to bane and nodded but he would push the bow back towards him, and would take out his own, uncolapsing the shafts and putting their metal pins in, and then stringing the bow and drawing out a home made arrow, this guy was grizly adams and this was his home, he would then look around before looking at bane, Cir's drawing style was interesting in that he didn't draw back like normal archers he drew reverse, this meat that the top of his pull hand was facing towards his body and as he pulled back he leveraged the strength from the angle he had, yep he had an arrow knocked, and he looked to bane and would do this gain, slowly for him to see how the draw went.
[15:23:00] . As Cirden takes his bow and nocks the arrow, Bane's eyes focus on the way in which the man is holding it. As the other fellow repeats it a bit more slowly, the fae raises his bow -- with the arrow still nocked -- and he positions his hand a bit differently to mimic Cirden's own, though he keeps glancing at the lythari's hand to ensure he is following its position correctly. His three fingers lightly hold the bow in place against the string, and after a moment he raises the bow and draws the string back...but he pauses, holding it, to let Cirden check it to ensure he is doing it the way the man is.
[15:26:31] Cirden Fang he nodded his head, as he watched and grinned, the man had it some what right, and he would indeed move forward, and adjust the way the was holding the knot of the arrow was placed between the middle and ring finger, curled slightly on the first joint of the fingers, he also made sure that the arrow was not on the left side, but the right, and he would then nodd his head, as he would follow and draw back, making a simple movement to fire the arrow letting it glide across the air to where ever, it was a sample fire, not a targeting fire.
[15:31:32] Baneberry rolls R6 (CC:b8ed): 82, 50-, arrow misses target; 51+, arrow hits target.
[15:31:55] . When Cirden moves forward, Bane patiently stands there as he lets the other man correct his hold and the arrow...and he does incline his head so he can better watch how it is done. Once the fellow steps back, the satyr murmurs his thanks; even if his words can not be understood, the gratefulness in his tone is apparent. Once that is all done, he releases the arrow, and it flies forward to hit the target with a satisfying Thunk. It's nowhere near the middle of the target, but at least it made impact. When the arrow sinks into the target rather than flying off into oblivious, Bane's entire expression brightens and he glances over at Cirden, grinning from ear to ear.
[15:35:34] Cirden Fang he grinned a bit as the arrows thunked in and sunk into their target, and cir would nod lots, the appreciative tone was noted, and then cirden would grin reaching back grabbing four arrows and keeping them in his draw hand, pointed outwards, indeed he seemed to be the master hunter, and wanted to show off a little, to show Bane how much he had to learn to get up tot he level, and in less then two seconds, cir had fired all four arrows, it was possible and he had hoped he hit the center of the target (100+ hit, -99 miss...) either way it was reletively impressive to him to fire so fast...
[15:35:57] Cirden Fang rolls R8 (CC:b8ee): 102, showing off ACTUAL archery stuff!
[15:43:57] . When Cirden nods quite a bit, Bane seems to be beaming like he just did some amazing thing...but then that approval of his own baby skills fades to awe and disbelief when the other man proceeds to remove four arrows and then shoot them all. As they all land in the target, Bane gapes at the target...and then at Cirden...and at the target again, then back at the wolf. Then, suddenly, he grins broadly and he blurts out, "Tha' wuz /amazin'!/" The enthusiasm bubbling in his voice and expression is as clear as crystal. He reaches behind himself to withdraw another arrow, knocking it once more; and after he raises his bow and aims, he releases it to...hopefully hit the target rather than the ground, or soar off into the great unknown in search of adventure.
[15:44:24] Baneberry rolls R6 (CC:b8ef): 87, Same as before. 50-, your aim sucks Bane; 51+, good boy, you managed to hit what you aimed for
[15:47:13] Cirden Fang he laughed at the enthusiasm, it had to be good right what ever was said as Fawman went to grab another arrow, Cir would nod his head a bit watching his technique, and how he fired a single arrow, soon cir would tap the man and motion kneeling down shoing him what he was point at, and took an arrow out, he would then demonstrate, not literally though, a kneecaping shot using the arrow head as refference on his own knee as where best to incapacitate, and would go along with the movements, once done he'd go out to the target, tear a piece of cloth off, about the size of his kneecap, and place it on the tree, and then rush abck and pointed outward at it. It was a legendary shot of coarse as it could hamper a man so much it could kill him, or make him marry.
[15:52:12] . The tap to his knee causes Bane to look down at it, and then he looks back to Cirden. His brow furrows with confusion but he /is/ watching closely, and when the other man dashes over to the target and rips cloth off, then heads over to the tree to place the cloth there, the satyr turns to watch. He raises a hand to scratch in his wild locks of hair with that bewildered expression, but he /is/ keeping an eye on what Cirden is doing to learn through observation.
[15:56:02] Cirden Fang he looked to bane and then pointed out ward at the cloth and then down at his knee, and put the arrow behind it so it looked like the arrow had gone through and then limped wondering if he'd get it now, as he then motioned out he would draw his bow and fire out at the cloth, (75+ hit, less then that well he sucks.) and he would watch the arrow as it sailed across either to hit or to miss but eventually bane would get the idea.
[15:56:14] Cirden Fang rolls R8 (CC:b8f0): 117, hit or miss!
[16:03:14] . As Cirden begins to act out a wounded knee, Bane watches him before realization dawns in his expression like the rise of Sun on the horizon shedding the light of knowledge and revelation across a barren land of lack of understanding. Or something else poetic like that. He then reaches behind himself to withdraw one of his other arrow -- which are dwindling in number; he'd have to collect his other fired arrows soon -- and then nocks it. He mimics the way Cirden had done his...the hold, and the pose...before he turns, aiming for the cloth as well. He glances over at Cirden, a doubtful expression on his face which reads 'I don't know if I can do this yet' but then he looks ahead, bow raising higher as he closes one eye and squints with his dominate one while he aims. Then, he looses the arrow as he aims for the cloth.
[16:03:47] Baneberry rolls R6 (CC:b8f1): 71, 80-, miss; 81+, lucky shot, it makes impact.
[16:05:32] Cirden Fang he watched and cringes as he closes his eye, and he shook his head at the miss that flowed across the field and huffed shaking his head and he ponted to his eye and looked wide eyed, it was hard expressing that you needed to keep your eyes open, both of them. An he shook hi shead and pointed down range again as if to try again, he started to pack in his bow as if saying this would be the last shot, as he colapsed it down and put it where it was meant to be.
[16:09:39] . All the gesturing from Cirden and the wide eyeball causes Bane to lower his bare and stare back, but then he nods. Even as the other man begins to put his bow away, Bane reaches behind himself for his very last arrow. He nocks it, placing his fingers where they need to be, and he turns toward the tree once more. Raising his bow, he stares at the cloth on the trunk and after a moment or two, releases the arrow.
[16:09:49] Baneberry rolls R6 (CC:b8f2): 12, Same as last time!
[16:10:35] . The arrow decides to be disobedient and fly off into space in search of a new life elsewhere.
[16:11:37] Cirden Fang well, that shot flunked, but this is what practice was for, and he shook his head from side to side, and as Bane would probably go out to collect his arrows, Cir would sneak off, and dissappear like that ghost hunter that he was... Oh there was much to teach bane indeed, but another day.
[16:12:57] . Bane had presumed Cirden was readying to depart since he was putting the bow away so, before he moves for his arrows, he says sincerely, "Thankee, lad." And then he moves to gather up his arrows which...takes a while, since they're all over kingdom come.
